ISLAMIZATION, PIETY, FUNDAMENTALISM: RELIGIOUS MOVEMENT IN CAMPUS
Religion is based on the perspective of attitudes and attention to the doctrines that apply in everyday life. On its journey, diversity is often a symbol and goal of achieving certain interests. However, sometimes he often raises conflicts within the structure of society. Power and religion sometimes cannot be united, which results in friction between the authorities and their people. In this regard, the existence of this study wants to highlight the dynamics of intellectual diversity in public space. They want to fight for religious rights that have been ruled out by the government. So that with the metamorphosed Tarbiyah movement being campus preaching, they have directed a non-confrontational movement that fights Islam in the public space by taking mosque settings as the foundation of religious idealism in the modern era. The rise of campus preaching in various universities throughout Indonesia originated from the concerns of Islamic activists on the impartiality of the authorities in a system based on religious guidance. Especially in the era of the 70s when the New Order replaced the Old Order, many actions were contrary to Islamic norms. The further development of the preaching of this campus is growing rapidly, as a result there is a new Islamic model conducted by students who try to instill an ethical system to the community. This study uses a qualitative method that combines literature sources with a phenomenological approach that refers to field data. Therefore the final result of this study presents the religious aspirations of young intellectuals in their relations with the political interests of the ruler who display modern piety attitudes that process into contemporary Islamic models in the public sphere.
Becoming Modern Muslim: New Emerging Trends of Islamic Schools in Yogyakarta
The growth of Islamic school education in Indonesia has been phenomenally rapid, affecting a new emergence of Islamic school in the country. In few years ago we only recognised two models of Islamic education: pesantren (boarding school) and madrasah (conventional Islamic school). The current wave of Islamic schools in Indonesia attempts to integrate secular education and religious curriculum in one curriculum. Interestingly, the teachings in these schools reinvigorate modern Muslim parents to get their children enrolled in those institutions. Nowadays urban society demands educational institution that effectively equips the students with ability in handling the challenges of rapid globalisation. Furthermore, Muslim parents enthusiastically welcome to this new trend of Islamic school in Indonesia. Uncontrolled social interaction, moral and ethical decadence have risen concerns amongst parents about their children future. Hence, this challenge prompts them to think of solution for their children in near future. The establishment of educational institution which is being able to respond to such global problems is necessary. With a blend of modern and religious curricula, Islamic school is aspired to provide skills to children so that they are capable of facing the consequences of globalisation. This system is also expected to generate a solid religious morality as a platform for moral development for children to prevent them from getting drifted into negative consequences of globalisation. Accordingly, modern Islamic school is developed in response to these issues. This paper is in attempt to examine the presence of Islamic schools in Yogyakarta. Characteristics of each school will be scrutinized. The paper will focus on the discussion of their characteristics, aiming for responding to social concerns and parent expectation for their children to be able to survive amidst the turmoil of modernity as well as for the school in being able to bridge the Islamic way of life with global problems

The research employs qualitative methods, analyzing the mosque's architectural elements, design philosophy, and functional aspects to investigate how traditional Islamic values harmoniously coexist with modern technological advancements. Through a comprehensive review of design documents and site observations, the study highlights the mosque's role as a reflection of Indonesia's diverse cultural and religious landscape and a space that nurtures the collective identity and practices of Muslim communities. The findings reveal that the Istiqlal Mosque is a model for merging historical traditions with modern innovations and societal needs
Co-operative control of the dingo
Vermin control measures in the pastoral areas have often been rendered less effective by the existence of a number of Vermin Boards each operating independently of its neighbours. Bonus payments for scalps for instance, have often varied considerably, even between boards with adjoining territories, so that trafficking in scalps was encouraged. Bonus payments by some boards have been excessively high, with the result that shortage of funds has soon compelled a reduction of the bonus rate which in turn has brought about a steep build-up in the vermin population
