From a multidisciplinary perspective, is based on social criticism, this article examines our economic, consumer, and education, in which it´s obvious what inconsistent is our management system, not only for the activity of our governments, but also individually. It allows describing a “modus operandi” that frequently draws inadmissible lifestyles to support in hard times. The invalidity of this procedure and way of managing the economic and social reality, also catchs a glimpse the lack of training in citizenship, due to an obsolete education system. Only consumer education will transform our reality and bring us a sustainable future

[EN] The graphical documentation process of archaeological pieces requires the active involvement of a professional artist to recreate beautiful illustrations using a wide variety of expressive techniques. Frequently, the artist’s work is limited by the inconvenience of working only with the photographs of the pieces he is going to illustrate. This paper presents a software tool that allows the easy generation of illustrations in real time from 3D scanned models. The developed interface allows the user to simulate very elaborate artistic styles through the creation of diagrams by using the available virtual lights. The software processes the diagrams to render an illustration from any given angle or position. Among the available virtual lights, there are well known techniques as silhouettes enhancement, hatching or toon shading.[ES] El proceso de documentación gráfica de piezas arqueológicas requiere de la participación de un artista capaz de recrear ilustraciones empleando distintas técnicas expresivas. Thanks to the Consejería de Innovación y Empresa of the Junta de Andalucía that has partially funded this article through the project of excellence PE09-TIC-5276Consejería de Innovación y Empresa of the Junta de Andalucía PE09-TIC-5276López, L.; Arroyo, G.; Martín, D. Estimates of the likelihood of threats are related to intolerance of uncertainty and learning

    Get PDF
In the present experiment, we assessed the relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and expectancy ratings of threats both in the presence of conditioned stimuli (CS) that signalled the delivery of an aversive unconditioned stimulus (US), and after making an avoidance response. Participants learned the relationship between several pictures serving as CSs and an aversive sound serving as the US, and learned to avoid the US through a procedure including alternating pavlovian and negative reinforcement training phases. Expectancy ratings were measured on every training trial. Our results only showed a significant association between intolerance of uncertainty and expectancy ratings made after avoidance responses. This association was found only when the avoidance response was made in the presence of CSs signalling that the aversive sound was avoidable. The increase in intolerance of uncertainty was related to lower expectancy ratings in good learners, and to higher expectancy ratings in bad learners. These results are tentatively explained by invoking a view of intolerance of uncertainty as an exaggerated reaction to uncertainty aimed at learning to avoid threats.Universidad de Málaga. Teaching Style in Physical Education and Changes of Daily Physical Activity after One Academic Year in Adolescents: GEOS Study

    Get PDF
Increased Moderate-Vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and reduced sedentary time (ST) are key factors for a healthy lifestyle during childhood and adolescence. Studies have suggested that schools may be effective resources to promote healthy habits (Sallis, McKenzie et al. 2012). Therefore, in PE, is important to assess how teachers use strategies and provide students tools to engage in PA with the purpose of reduce the risk of sedentary behavior and contribute to promotion MVPA habits for a healthy lifestyle (Lonsdale, C. et al., 2013). Many factors may be involved in the successful PE class to promote healthy out-school behaviors, as teaching styles (TS), learning styles, learning time, motivation and so on (Mosston, M. 1966). Regarding TS, there is a lack of knowledge about influence of the teaching style (TS) in the promotion of daily MVPA. It was our aim to observe the differences of total daily PA dimensions between two groups of adolescents who were taught during a whole academic year using reproducing (RK) or producing knowledge (PK) TSs.Universidad de Málaga. Social Media is playing a key role in today's society. Many of the events that are taking place in diverse human activities could be explained by the study of these data. Big Data is a relatively new parading in Computer Science that is gaining increasing interest by the scientific community. Big Data Predictive Analytics is a Big Data discipline that is mostly used to analyze what is in the huge amounts of data and then perform predictions based on such analysis using advanced mathematics and computing techniques. The study of Social Media Data involves disciplines like Natural Language Processing, by the integration of this area to academic studies, useful findings have been achieved. Social Network Rating Systems are online platforms that allow users to know about goods and services, the way in how users review and rate their experience is a field of evolving research. This paper presents a deep investigation in the state of the art of these areas to discover and analyze the current status of the research that has been developed so far by academics of diverse background

Ab initio studies of propene epoxidation on oxidized silver surfaces

    Get PDF
Producción CientíficaAb initio density functional simulations have been performed to study the adsorption of propene on partially oxidized silver surfaces and its interaction with surface oxygen. Two different adsorption conformations for propene are studied, with the molecule either intact or forming an Ag–C3H6–O oxymetallacycle (OMC) intermediate. Then, pathways for propene oxide, acrolein and propanone formation have been studied in detail, providing insight into the selectivity of the surfaces. We find that formation of acrolein must necessarily take place from OMC intermediates, requiring at least two neighbouring reactive surface oxygen anions. This suggests a strong relationship between the concentration of surface oxygen and the selectivity of these surfaces.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (Proyect MAT2008-06483-C03-01 and MAT 2011-22781)Junta de Castilla y León (programa de apoyo a proyectos de investigación - Ref. This series will include all those people who, by means of their contributions, great and small, played a part in the consolidation of ichthyology in Argentina. The general plan of this work consists of individual factsheets containing a list of works by each author, along with reference bibliography and, whenever possible, personal pictures and additional material. The datasheets will be published primarily in chronological order, although this is subject to change by the availability of materials for successive editions. This work represents another approach for the recovery and revalorization of those who set the foundations of Argentine ichthyology while in diverse historical circumstances. I expect this to be the beginning of a major work that achieves the description of such a significant part of the history of natural sciences in Argentina

International Conference on Education. Bilbao, 18-20 de julio de 2013In the last years, Spanish universities have given great importance to in-service training focusing mainly on the quality of teaching. This increase, which is a clear sign of the effort done by Spanish universities to improve the professional competence of academics, must be accompanied by asp ects such as the evaluation of the given training/courses, the inclusion of different elements to be assessed, i.e. the lecturers, contents, structure of the course, number of participants, degree of satisfaction of the participants with the received training, the impact of the course on the development of teaching competences and the impact of the new skills on the teaching practice, considering, mainly, the teaching of the participants. This paper analyses the needs expressed by academics as well as the offer proposed by the University of Granada to those needs. A survey conducted in 2012/13 of more than 500 academics is used to gather informatio
