Anti-vaccination campaigns have spread a negative impact on the willingness of parents to get their children vaccinated that´s why we focused on the factors that influence whether the children pass vaccination programme valid in Slovakia. The emotionality may have a great impact on the decision making of mother about childhood vaccination including awareness of life-threatening diseases and purpose of the vaccine in the general. The research has shown that less than 30% of sample involves parents who have refused to vaccinate. This is in spite of the fact that life-threatening diseases have been greatly reduced due to mandatory vaccination programs through the years in Slovakia. The data analysed the attitudes of 875 mothers who have two-year old children. We wanted to know the affects, of their emotional beliefs on decision-making about getting their children vaccinated

There is no Strategic Plan for tackling and preventing homelessness in Slovakia, which exacerbates the unsystematic process of social services for homeless people. For this reason, we point out the positives and negatives of the whole system. The research focuses on mapping the current situation of homelessness and describes the aid system under the auspices of the non-profit sector. The participants in the research were social and street workers who provide care and counseling for the homeless on an outpatient basis, on a residential basis or directly in the street where they live

Strategies for Improving Visual Inspection Performance

    Get PDF
This paper summarizes recent results obtained in inspection studies including several studies performed by the authors. Both static and dynamic visual inspection tasks are included. Based on these results, a proposed new integrated design procedure for inspection tasks that will approach the optimal design has been formulated. The review of recent research results includes the following primary variables: the speed of the item passing the inspector, the spacing of items, the percentage of defective items, the illumination level, the contrast between the item being inspected and the background, and the effectiveness of individual versus group inspection. The authors have used their research results in combination with the results in the literature to formulate new integrated procedures for designing inspection stations and job procedures. The authors have also analyzed the effects of inspector performance on the overall quality control plans already in use in industry. The economic effects of changes in inspector performance which result from redesign of the inspection task are then demonstrated as a part of the overall design procedure.Yeshttps://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/manuscript-submission-guideline

Analysis Of Development Of Social Services Provided By State And Non-Public Providers In Slovakia

    No full text
Development of social services in Slovakia is connected with the big reform of transformation and decentralisation held in 2002, but there are still differences between state and non-public social providers described in this analysis. An overview of the relevant social law shows that, in addition to municipalities and higher territorial units, social services can also be provided by private entities, such as non-profit organisations, civic associations, church organisations. Unlike these “private” public providers, who are authorized to provide social services under the same conditions as public providers, a non-public provider has to pass legal conditions for the provision of social services. The main differences are visible in the way of funding and in the access to public sources of a number of social care users as well as in condition of providing community-based services. Slovakia and other countries in Europe are facing the demographical changes that affect the quality of life of the elderly, economics, and long-term health and social care. It is necessary to develop community-based services in the basis of sustainability due to ageing of the population and the increased number of the vulnerable people requiring social care
