The classification of all single travelling wave solutions to Calogero-Degasperis-Focas equation
Under the travelling wave transformation, Calogero-Degasperis-Focas equation
was reduced to an ordinary differential equation. Using a symmetry group of
one-parameter, this ODE was reduced to a second order linear inhomogeneous ODE.
Furthermore, we applied the change of the variable and complete discrimination
system for polynomial to solve the corresponding integrals and obtained the
classification of all single travelling wave solutions to
Calogero-Degasperis-Focas equation.Comment: 9 page
Stock portfolio selection using learning-to-rank algorithms with news sentiment
In this study, we apply learning-to-rank algorithms to design trading strategies
using relative performance of a group of stocks based on investors' sentiment
toward these stocks. We show that learning-to-rank algorithms are effective in
producing reliable rankings of the best and the worst performing stocks based
on investors' sentiment. More specifically, we use the sentiment shock and trend
indicators introduced in the previous studies, and we design stock selection rules
of holding long positions of the top 25% stocks and short positions of the bottom
25% stocks according to rankings produced by learning-to-rank algorithms.
We then apply two learning-to-rank algorithms, ListNet and RankNet, in stock
selection processes and test long-only and long-short portfolio selection strategies
using 10 years of market and news sentiment data. Through backtesting of
these strategies from 2006 to 2014, we demonstrate that our portfolio strategies
produce risk-adjusted returns superior to the S&P500 index return, the hedge
fund industry average performance - HFRIEMN, and some sentiment-based approaches
without learning-to-rank algorithm during the same period
Metastable behavior of vortex matter in the electronic transport processes of homogenous superconductors
We study numerically the effect of vortex pinning on the hysteresis voltage-temperature (V-T) loop of vortex matter. It is found that different types of the V-T loops result from different densities of vortex pinning center. An anticlockwise V-T loop is observed for the vortex system with dense pinning centers, whereas a clockwise V-T loop is brought about for vortices with dilute pinning centers. It is shown that the size of the V-T loop becomes smaller for lower experimental speed, higher magnetic field, or weak pinning strength. Our numerical observation is in good agreement with experiments

Comparison of Vlasov-Uehling-Uhlenbeck model with 4 π Heavy Ion Data
Streamer chamber data for collisions of Ar + KCl and Ar + BaI2 at 1.2 GeV/nucleon are compared with microscopic model predictions based on the Vlasov-Uehling-Uhlenbeck equation, for various density-dependent nuclear equations of state. Multiplicity distributions and inclusive rapidity and transverse momentum spectra are in good agreement. Rapidity spectra show evidence of being useful in determining whether the model uses the correct cross sections for binary collisions in the nuclear medium, and whether momentum-dependent interactions are correctly incorporated. Sideward flow results do not favor the same nuclear stiffness parameter at all multiplicities
Guest Editorial Special Issue on Cardiovascular System Monitoring and Therapy: Innovative Technologies and Internet of Things
The papers in this special section focus on cardiovascular system monitoring and therapy. The number of devices for the measurement and interpretation of biological systems that describe performance of the cardiovascular system is growing. Among others, this is due to the improvement of circuit and system design that renders the devices wearable and easy to use. Moreover, internetworking enables these devices to exchange data. Their true impact on patient care is highly dependent on the quality and relevancy of the data acquired. The design of circuits and systems to answer the growing demand and the necessity to have portable and connected devices lead to a focus on designing ultra-low power apparatus, mixed-signal devices, using nanoscale electronics. Microelectronic issues are therefore at the heart of the demand. All this requires inter-disciplinary collaborations between scientists, engineers, medical researchers, and practitioners. The interconnection of these embedded devices, known as Internet of Things, is expected to usher in the medical field, among others to study the cardiovascular system of patients. Data processing and storage will also take place in the healthcare information technology. Furthermore, key issues such as data security and privacy will be determinants of the utility of these systems and impact in healthcare monitoring and management. This special issue aimed to provide a forum for both established experts and newinvestigators to share their developments, knowledge, and insights for the further design of circuits and systems aiming at being integrated in sensors to monitor or treat the cardiovascular system
Work-related helping and family functioning: a work-home resources perspective
Using the work–home resources (W-HR) model as an overarching framework, our study seeks to examine the interplay between employees’ provision and receipt of interpersonal organizational citizenship behaviours (OCB-I; i.e. helping behaviours), and its spillover effects on two family outcomes (family performance and marital withdrawal behaviours). Further, we simultaneously test resource depletion (emotional exhaustion) and resource generation (personal accomplishment) mechanisms linking OCB-Is and the family domain. Based on a time-lagged, dual-source study of 320 employees, we found that OCB-I enactment is positively related to both exhaustion (only for those who receive low OCB-Is from colleagues) and personal accomplishment at work (regardless of OCB-I receipt), which interferes with and enriches employees’ family lives, respectively. We discuss the theoretical contributions of these findings to OCB research and the W-HR model
Effect of Na doping on flux pinning of YBa1.9Na0.1Cu3O7-d
We have prepared Na-doped YBa2Cu3Oy (YBa1.9Na0.1Cu3Oy +40mol%Y211) (YBNCO)
and Na-free YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) samples by the Melt-Textured Growth (MTG) method
to study the effect of doped Na ion on flux pinning. The ac susceptibility
curves (acs) as well as the hysteresis loops were measured for the samples.
Then the effective pinning energy (U(T,Hdc,J)), irreversibility line (Hirr(T))
and critical current density (jc(Hdc)) were determined, where T, Hdc and J are
temperature, dc magnetic field and current density, respectively. We found
that, with Na doping, the Hirr(T) line shifted to lower temperature while the
Jc(Hdc) and U(T,Hdc,J) became smaller. It indicates that the Na ions play a
negative role in the flux pinning of YBCO. The appearance of the second peak in
the Jc(Hdc) curves and the enhancement of anisotropy in YBNCO further support

Elementary operations for quantum logic with a single trapped two-level cold ion beyond Lamb-Dicke limit
A simple alternative scheme for implementing quantum gates with a single
trapped cold two-level ion beyond the Lamb-Dicke (LD) limit is proposed. Basing
on the quantum dynamics for the laser-ion interaction described by a
generalized Jaynes-Cummings model, one can introduce two kinds of elementary
quantum operations i.e., the simple rotation on the bare atomic state,
generated by applying a resonant pulse, and the joint operation on the internal
and external degrees of the ion, performed by using an off-resonant pulse.
Several typical quantum gates, including Hadamard gate, controlled-Z and
controlled-NOT gates , can thus be implemented exactly by using these
elementary operations. The experimental parameters including the LD parameter
and the durations of the applied laser pulses, for these implementation are
derived analytically and numerically. Neither the LD approximation for the
laser-ion interaction nor the auxiliary atomic level is needed in the present
