This study examines factors which is affecting online shopping customer behavior. Based on Javadi et.al. (2012), there are two model analysis in this research. First, measure affect of financial risk, product risk, incovenience risk, non-delivery risk, return policy, service and infrastructural on online shopping attitude. Second, to measure affect of domain specific innovativeness, attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on online shopping behavior. Sample selected from customers of five online shops in Palembang surveyed was selected by snowball sampling. Analysis using multiple linier regression. The results on first model analysis showed that almost of all risks negatively affect online shopping attitude. Only incovenience risk which have positive affect. Return policy and service and infrastructural positively affect online shopping behavior. On second model, analysis shows that all independent variables positively affect on online shopping behavior. This research support empirical research about subjective norms and attitude positively support behavior. In the other side, based on the result, affect of domain specific innovativeness and perceived behavior control need a more concern on future research

Structure of plastically compacting granular packings

The developing structure in systems of compacting ductile grains were studied experimentally in two and three dimensions. In both dimensions, the peaks of the radial distribution function were reduced, broadened, and shifted compared with those observed in hard disk- and sphere systems. The geometrical three--grain configurations contributing to the second peak in the radial distribution function showed few but interesting differences between the initial and final stages of the two dimensional compaction. The evolution of the average coordination number as function of packing fraction is compared with other experimental and numerical results from the literature. We conclude that compaction history is important for the evolution of the structure of compacting granular systems.Comment: 12 pages, 12 figure

Effects of Mergers and Acquisitions on Shareholder Wealth: Event Study for Latin American Airlines

This study analyzes the effectof changes in corporate controlon the way shareholdersbenefit from the announcements of selling and buying airlines, thus contributing to the literature on mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in emerging markets. Using a methodologyof event study, including GARCH and OLS models, we find evidence that some selling companies obtain abnormal returns that are statisticallysignificant after the announcement of the M&A. However, when the merger is not strategic, the companies present statisticallysignificant negative abnormal returns. The resultsare not conclusive when analyzing the effecton the valueof the buying companies

Time variable cosmological constant of holographic origin with interaction in Brans-Dicke theory

Time variable cosmological constant (TVCC) of holographic origin with interaction in Brans-Dicke theory is discussed in this paper. We investigate some characters for this model, and show the evolutions of deceleration parameter and equation of state (EOS) for dark energy. It is shown that in this scenario an accelerating universe can be obtained and the evolution of EOS for dark energy can cross over the boundary of phantom divide. In addition, a geometrical diagnostic method, jerk parameter is applied to this model to distinguish it with cosmological constant.Comment: 10 pages, 9 figure

Dual mode nonlinear model based predictive control with guaranteed stability

Abstract: This paper proposes a Nonlinear Model based Predictive Control (NMPC), with guaranteed stability using a dual mode Model based Predictive Control approach with a PI controller inside a terminal region. Within the formulation of this control strategy, a terminal region (Ω) and an attraction domain are calculated using invariant sets theory and a randomized Montecarlo type algorithm. In addition, this proposal is complemented with a commutation strategy to constrain final control elements smoothing controllers commutation. This Dual Mode NMPC multivariable control is implemented by simulation over a Continuous Stirred Reactor Tank and comparing Dual Mode NMPC with a conventional NMPC multivariable and with two PI controllers. Finally, this article concludes that the NMPC for dual mode is the control strategy that in addition to having stability guaranteed, presents a better performance

Estimating the impact of influenza on the epidemiological dynamics of SARS-CoV-2

As in past pandemics, co-circulating pathogens may play a role in the epidemiology of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In particular, experimental evidence indicates that influenza infection can up-regulate the expression of ACE2—the receptor of SARS-CoV-2 in human cells—and facilitate SARS-CoV-2 infection. Here we hypothesized that influenza impacted the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 during the early 2020 epidemic of COVID-19 in Europe. To test this hypothesis, we developed a population-based model of SARS-CoV-2 transmission and of COVID-19 mortality, which simultaneously incorporated the impact of non-pharmaceutical control measures and of influenza on the epidemiological dynamics of SARS-CoV-2. Using statistical inference methods based on iterated filtering, we confronted this model with mortality incidence data in four European countries (Belgium, Italy, Norway, and Spain) to systematically test a range of assumptions about the impact of influenza. We found consistent evidence for a 1.8–3.4-fold (uncertainty range across countries: 1.1 to 5.0) average population-level increase in SARS-CoV-2 transmission associated with influenza during the period of co-circulation. These estimates remained robust to a variety of alternative assumptions regarding the epidemiological traits of SARS-CoV-2 and the modeled impact of control measures. Although further confirmatory evidence is required, our results suggest that influenza could facilitate the spread and hamper effective control of SARS-CoV-2. More generally, they highlight the possible role of co-circulating pathogens in the epidemiology of COVID-19

Enhanced thermal stability and fracture toughness of TiAlN coatings by Cr, Nb and V-alloying

The effect of metal alloying on mechanical properties including hardness and fracture toughness were investigated in three alloys, Ti~0.33Al0.50(Me)~0.17N (Me¿=¿Cr, Nb and V), and compared to Ti0.50Al0.50N, in the as-deposited state and after annealing. All studied alloys display similar as-deposited hardness while the hardness evolution during annealing is found to be connected to phase transformations, related to the alloy's thermal stability. The most pronounced hardening was observed in Ti0.50Al0.50N, while all the coatings with additional metal elements sustain their hardness better and they are harder than Ti0.50Al0.50N after annealing at 1100¿°C. Fracture toughness properties were extracted from scratch tests. In all tested conditions, as-deposited and annealed at 900 and 1100¿°C, Ti0.33Al0.50Nb0.17N show the least surface and sub-surface damage when scratched despite the differences in decomposition behavior and h-AlN formation. Theoretically estimated ductility of phases existing in the coatings correlates well with their crack resistance. In summary, Ti0.33Al0.50Nb0.17N is the toughest alloy in both as-deposited and post-annealed states.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
