An investigation of genetic algorithm-based feature selection techniques applied to keystroke dynamics biometrics

Due to the continuous use of social networks, users can be vulnerable to online situations such as paedophilia treats. One of the ways to do the investigation of an alleged pedophile is to verify the legitimacy of the genre that it claims. One possible technique to adopt is keystroke dynamics analysis. However, this technique can extract many attributes, causing a negative impact on the accuracy of the classifier due to the presence of redundant and irrelevant attributes. Thus, this work using the wrapper approach in features selection using genetic algorithms and as KNN, SVM and Naive Bayes classifiers. Bringing as best result the SVM classifier with 90% accuracy, identifying what is most suitable for both bases

Description of the larva and pupa of Apion brevicorne Gerstaecker, 1854 (Coleoptera: Brentidae: Apioninae) with biological information

Apion brevicorne Gerstaecker, 1854 (Coleoptera: Brentidae: Apioninae) is an ecologically and economically important weevil that feeds on seeds and tissues of trees in the genus Copaifera L. (Fabaceae). Although the genus Apion comprises 16 species restricted to the Paleartic region, the Neotropical species A. brevicorne is still considered as incertae sedis due to the absence of a systematic study about it. The first descriptions and illustrations of Apion brevicorne are provided here. Diagnostic characters of larva and pupa are included and compared with 13 species from other biogeographic regions. Details of immature Apioninae species associated with host plants from the Neotropical region are described for the first time

Estresse ocupacional e acidentes no trabalho: uma análise sobre causas e consequências em empresas de prestação de serviços médicos situadas em Três Rios/RJ

Entre as possíveis consequências dos acidentes de trabalho ressalta-se que, embora os prejuízos físicos sejam mais facilmente percebidos, sintomas e transtornos psiquiátricos têm sido cada vez mais observados. Nesse contexto, além dos incidentes de acidentes no trabalho, o estresse ocupacional têm sido cada vez mais comuns e que, por sua vez, vem causando prejuízos para os trabalhadores e impactando os resultados organizacionais. Diante desse contexto, este artigo buscou apresentar os fatores, consequências e estratégias associados ao estresse ocupacional e acidentes no trabalho em áreas administrativas de empresas prestadoras de serviços médicos situadas em Três Rios/RJ. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória de abordagem qualitativa com aplicação de uma entrevista semi-estruturada com uma amostra de 8 colaboradores de 3 organizações distintas da área da saúde. A partir da entrevista, foi possível identificar, mediante a técnica da análise de discurso, que os principais fatores estressores foram associados ao ambiente organizacional e variáveis extra organizacionais. Além disso, constatou-se que a falta de uma liderança efetiva refletiu de forma negativa nas relações familiares, sociais e, sobretudo, no ambiente de trabalho. Finalmente, foi possível verificar a percepção da importância da discussão sobre o estresse ocupacional no contexto do trabalho suscita para a consideração em torno de diferentes eixos: prevenção, avaliação e tratamento acerca dos prejuízos causados

The circular economy in the perspective of sustainable joinery: a case study in the Amazon / A economia circular na perspectiva da carpintaria sustentável: um estudo de caso na Amazônia

This article explores the concept of the circular economy based on the use, as base material, of wood residues from the production process of a company that operates in the hygiene and cleaning products sector based at the Manaus Industrial Pole. These residues feed the manufacturing process of a Sustainable Joinery, which, in turn, manufactures custom products, as well as those from its catalog. It is intended to explore the manufacturing process, in the context of the pillars of the circular economy. The methodology of this work consisted of exploring the stages of its manufacturing process, the process flows, the chain involved, and the waste management of this process. In this study, the life cycle stages of raw material supply and end-of-life pathways of wooden pallets were assessed environmentally from different perspectives with lifecycle assessment (LCA). In addition, it reveals the potential to be explored in the region due to the economic opportunities and social and environmental impacts, since, considering only the year 2019, 21 tons of wood were reprocessed, representing an average monthly revenue in the order of $ 5,000

Herbário EVB Itinerante

O projeto de extensão intitulado “Herbário EVB itinerante: despertar para o ensino e conservação da Flora Regional”, está em andamento com a exposição Itinerante denominada “Herbário, entre Caminhos e Saberes”, com o objetivo de divulgar a Flora da microrregião de Foz do Iguaçu. O herbário é uma coleção de plantas secas em exsicatas que entre as suas finalidades serve para documentar a Flora de uma região e fornecer subsídios para sua conservação e educação ambiental. O herbário Evaldo Buttura (EVB), é um laboratório da UNILA, é multiusuário, e atende as demandas de ensino, pesquisa e extensão, pois é aberto para pesquisadores e público em geral, tanto para fins científicos, tecnológicos quanto educacionais. A exposição Itinerante do herbário permaneceu por 5 meses no Refúgio Biológico Bela Vista, em Foz do Iguaçu, onde recebeu visitas turistas do Brasil e diferentes regiões do mundo. Em seguida ficou 2 meses no saguão da prefeitura municipal de Marechal Cândido Rondon, e 1 mês no município de Matelândia. Foram realizadas capacitações com os monitores do Refúgio Biológico Bela Vista, e os professores de Marechal Cândido Rondon para que estivessem aptos a explicar sobre a exposição para turistas e alunos. O projeto também foi divulgado em uma mostra Interativa do 36 SEURS (Seminário de Extensão Universitária da Região Sul), realizado em agosto de 2018, em Porto Alegre -RS

Two native species, Sesuvium portulacastrum and Trianthema portulacastum, are recognized for the state of Bahia, Brazil. Lean and the circular economy: A systematic literature review

Lean is a well-renowned strategy for increasing the value of products by minimizing waste. The circular economy is a new paradigm designed to mitigate environmental problems in production activities. Considering both perspectives, this article aims to understand how the application of lean can support the achievement of the circular economy. In order to attain this goal, the research presents a systematic literature review using the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Notably, the literature on the theme is still at an exploratory stage, the vast majority of research consisting of case studies. The main lean tools identified in the research are 5S and value stream mapping. The main circular practices, with lean support, are the Rs and ecodesign. The research proposes Circular Lean as a novel concept, one which merges some of the existing lean and circular economy principles. The main idea of this concept is the reutilization of material and energy, adding value and reducing waste within production processes and product life cycles

Temporal development of muscle atrophy in murine model of arthritis is related to disease severity

Results The clinical parameters of arthritis progressively increased in CIA in all experimental times, demonstrating the greatest difference from other groups at 45 days after induction (clinical score: CO, 00±00; SA, 1.00±0.14; CIA, 3.28±0.41 p>0.05). The CIA animals had lower weights during all the experimentation periods with a difference of 6 % from CO at 45 days (p>0.05). CIA animals also demonstrated progressive decrease in distance walked, with a reduction of 54 % in 35 and 74 % at 45 days. Cytokine analysis identified significant increase in IL-6 serum levels in CIA than CO and SA in all experimental times. CSA of the myofiber of GA and TAwas decreased 26 and 31 % (p> 0.05) in CIA in 45 days after the induction of disease, respectively. There was significant and inverse correlation between the disease clinical score and myofiber CSA in 45 days (GA: r=−0.71; p=0.021). Conclusion Our results point to a progressive development of muscle wasting, with premature onset arthritis. These observations are relevant to understand the development of muscle loss, as well as for the design of future studies trying to understand the mechanisms involved in muscle wasting. As far as we are concerned, this is the first study to evaluate the relation between disease score and muscle atrophy in a model of arthritis

PERFIL DE PACIENTES CADASTRADOS NO HIPERDIA: CONHECENDO O ESTILO DE VIDA

O objetivo deste artigo é descrever a população atendida pelo HIPERDIA e avaliar o conhecimento dos pacientes sobre diabetes e hipertensão arterial, verificando mudanças no estilo de vida após ingresso no programa. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva e explicativa, com abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa, realizada com 52 pacientes. Obteve-se alta prevalência de idosos e de sujeitos que afirmaram ter conhecimento sobre a patologia e suas complicações; 99% realizavam tratamento medicamentoso. Concluiu-se que, entre as mulheres, o sedentarismo é menor, porém os homens apresentaram modificações significativas nos hábitos alimentares após ingresso no programa, com redução de gordura (77,8%) e sal (18,8); encontrou-se Índice de Massa Corporal e circunferência abdominal acima dos padrões normais e 80% das mulheres com sobrepeso. Recomenda-se, de acordo com os achados, que a equipe de saúde da família realize mais ações de promoção de saúde e de incentivo a pratica de atividade física, assim como melhora nos registros em prontuário
