Exchange-coupling in thermal annealed bimagnetic core/shell nanoparticles

In this study we demonstrate that the effective coupling of the magnetic phases in core/shell nanoparticles can be promoted by an appropriate thermal annealing. In this way, the magnetization thermal stability of the hard ferrimagnetic CoFe2O4 oxide can be increased up to room temperature when coupled to a CoO antiferromagnetic core in an inverse core/shell structure. In addition, the results show that, being encapsulated in a ∼2 nm thick CoFe2O4 shell, the CoO core is successfully protected against oxidation which is crucial for the effectiveness of the magnetic coupling at the interface.Fil: Lavorato, Gabriel Carlos. Bifunctional CoFe2O4/ZnO Core/Shell Nanoparticles for Magnetic Fluid Hyperthermia with Controlled Optical Response

Conjugation of optical and magnetic responses in a unique system at the nanoscale emerges as a powerful tool for several applications. Here, we fabricated bifunctional CoFe2O4-core/ZnO-shell nanoparticles with simultaneous photoluminescence in the visible range and ac magnetic losses suitable for hyperthermia. The structural characterization confirms that the system is formed by a ≈7 nm CoFe2O4 core encapsulated in a ≈1.5-nm-thick semiconducting ZnO shell. As expected from its high anisotropy, the magnetic losses in an ac magnetic field are dominated by the Brown relaxation mechanism. The ac magnetic response of the core/shell system can be accurately predicted by the linear response theory and differs from that one of bare CoFe2O4 nanoparticles as a consequence of changes in the viscous relaxation process due to the effect of the magnetostatic interactions. Concerning the optical properties, by comparing core/shell CoFe2O4/ZnO and single-phase ZnO nanoparticles, we found that the former exhibits a broader optical absorption and photoluminescence, both shifted to the visible range, indicating that the optical properties are closely associated with the shell-morphology of ZnO. Being focused on bifunctional nanoparticles with an optical response in the visible range and a tunable hyperthermia output, our results can help to address current open questions on magnetic fluid hyperthermia.Fil: Lavorato, Gabriel Carlos. Lygia Bojunga e Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós: uma literatura infantojuvenil dialogando com Lobato

O estudo parte da análise do diálogo estabelecido entre os discursos dos autores Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós e Lygia Bojunga com Monteiro Lobato em suas obras. Para essa análise tomamos como corpus as obras Vermelho amargo (2011) e Por parte de pai (1995), do Bartolomeu; e da Lygia, O abraço (2010) e Sapato de salto (2006) e, com exemplos dessas narrativas, pretendemos mostrar as intertextualidades nas obras de Lygia e Bartolomeu, com destaque para o talento deles em singularizar suas obras. Esses autores se destacam no cenário da literatura infantojuvenil brasileira e possuem grandiosa habilidade em equilibrar a realidade e o imaginário, em suas obras, ou seja, narram ficções que proporcionam às crianças um espaço com situações e fatos do cotidiano, mas com liberdade de imaginação. Observa-se nesses autores a afirmação do discurso de Lobato de preocupação com a educação das crianças, mas sem prezar pelos saberes “inteiros” e “derradeiros” e por uma representação utópica da vida

Valoração de atributos de qualidade em pêssegos comercializados no estado de São Paulo

Econometric models were developed to estimate the implicit prices for selected quality attributes of fresh peaches commercialized in the state of Sao Paulo. Such estimation is conducted in two stages of the distribution chain, namely, wholesale and retail sales. Data on the price and quality attributes (such as color, size, varieties and types of damages) of fresh peaches were obtained from cross-sectional data in different time periods. The estimation of Hedonic Prices is proposed as a method to evaluate post-harvest price variations from wholesale to retail sales. Barriers to cardiac rehabilitation delivery in a low-resource setting from the perspective of healthcare administrators, rehabilitation providers, and cardiac patients

Background: Despite clinical practice guideline recommendations that cardiovascular disease patients participate, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs are highly unavailable and underutilized. This is particularly true in low-resource settings, where the epidemic is at its’ worst. The reasons are complex, and include health system, program and patient-level barriers. This is the first study to assess barriers at all these levels concurrently, and to do so in a lowresource setting. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, data from three cohorts (healthcare administrators, CR coordinators and patients) were triangulated. Healthcare administrators from all institutions offering cardiac services, and providers from all CR programs in public and private institutions of Minas Gerais state, Brazil were invited to complete a questionnaire. Patients from a random subsample of 12 outpatient cardiac clinics and 11 CR programs in these institutions completed the CR Barriers Scale. Results: Thirty-two (35.2%) healthcare administrators, 16 (28.6%) CR providers and 805 cardiac patients (305 [37.9%] attending CR) consented to participate. Administrators recognized the importance of CR, but also the lack of resources to deliver it; CR providers noted referral is lacking. Patients who were not enrolled in CR reported significantly greater barriers related to comorbidities/functional status, perceived need, personal/family issues and access than enrollees, and enrollees reported travel/work conflicts as greater barriers than non-enrollees (all p < 0.01). Conclusions: The inter-relationship among barriers at each level is evident; without resources to offer more programs, there are no programs to which physicians can refer (and hence inform and encourage patients to attend), and patients will continue to have barriers related to distance, cost and transport. Viabilidade econômica de embalagens para laranja-de-mesa no estado de São Paulo

This current study aims to identify the most feasible type of packages for fresh oranges, produced and commercialized in the São Paulo state. In order to do so, three studies of specific cases were considered, under the context of multi cases. It was aimed to determine the cost of processing, packaging and transporting related to the orange commercialization aimed at customers such as wholesalers, supermarkets and Supplying Centers (CEASA’s), from a Packing-House. The results presented and analyzed in this study allowed to indicate that, in general terms, there is no package more feasible economically speaking, considering its use. What was really observed was that there is a package that is more feasible for each producer considering his specific characteristics, such as: forms of freight negotiations with the customer, the payment of taxes related to transportation, loss levels related to the use of determined packages in long distances, variations of the fruit prices sold to the customer and to the industry, values related to the processing, arbitrage and taxes of financial discounts (according to the type of supermarket). Based on the spreadsheet the producer will be able to use a tool to help make decisions related not only to the most feasible package to be used, but also as an instrument in defining the best sale price for their fruit (R$/kg), from which profits can be forecasted in all levels of refusals.Packaging, Economic feasibility, Orange, Marketing,

O traço de Antônio Parreiras sobre a Inconfidência mineira

Trabalho de conclusão de curso (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Instituto de Ciências Humanas, Departamento de História, 2017.Antônio Parreiras foi um dos pintores nacionais do século XIX e início do XX, que mais produziu quadros históricos no Brasil, sendo sua obra bastante significativa para a pintura de história do país e construção da certidão visual do Brasil. Ao analisar a série de quadros sobre a Incofidência Mineira, pretende-se investigar a relação entre pintura e história, observando a utilização dessas obras como instrumento de reafirmação de poder e de um imaginário coletivo através de um processo de reinvenção da nação e construção de heróis. As telas escolhidas correspondem a uma releitura da Inconfidência Mineira na percepção do artista, de acordo com as aspirações republicanas.Antônio Parreiras was a national painter in 19th century and begining of 20th century, who most produced historical paintings in Brazil. His works are very significant for the painting of history in the country, and the construction of the visual certificate of Brazil. In analyzing the series of paintings about the Inconfidência Mineira, it is intended to investigate the relationship between painting and history, noticing the use of these paintings as an instrument of reaffirmation of power, and of a collective imaginary through a process of reinvention of the nation and the construction of heroes. Certificação da qualidade na indústria de alimentos

Tendo em vista o crescimento dos estudos feitos na área de qualidade e sua importância para o mercado, faz-se necessário a pesquisa sobre as principais certificações da área de qualidade para indústrias de alimentos a fim de reunir essas informações para facilitar a escolha da certificação mais adequada para cada empresa. Para dar continuidade no processo de Gestão da Qualidade, iniciado em dezembro de 2017 na Cervejaria Kairós, foi feito no final deste trabalho um estudo de caso que avaliou a situação atual da empresa e indicou os primeiros passos para a adequação da microcervejaria à norma ISO 9001:2015, visando principalmente obter a confiança dos clientes a respeito da qualidade dos produtos da empresa, bem como abrir novas possibilidades de mercado
