The following details from adesp. fr. 700 K.-Sn. might be in agreement with what is known of Euripides’ Andromeda: (a) the comparison with a statue; (b) the bride of Hades motif; (c) the initial silence of a main character; (d) mortals’ cooperation with the Moirai in bringing disaster on a family; (e) the contrast between a king’s fortune and a father’s suffering. There is no need to emend the text in order to eliminate from l. 5 μάγους πάγας and its allusion to magic, which fits Medusa and Perseus sufficiently well
