The place of industrial heritage in contemporary cities - agents, values and conflicts: the ways of the Indústrias Reunidas Francisco Matarazzo at the Água Branca neighborhood

This paper analyses the actions and conflicts of several social agents, including the different values ascribed to the former industrial complex of the Indústrias Reunidas Franscisco Matarazzo (IRFM) at the Água Branca neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo. It also investigates the justifications and interests that endorsed the Heritage Listing Process of this industrial complex (which started in 1985). Incoherencies and overlapping of the many different speeches are noted, as well as the changes through time on the values ascribed to the very same object. Finally, it realizes the importance of the exchange between heritage preservation and urban development actions in contemporary cities.Neste trabalho analisa-se a ação e os conflitos de vários atores sociais, compreendendo os diferentes valores atribuídos ao antigo conjunto das Indústrias Reunidas Francisco Matarazzo (IRFM) no bairro da Água Branca, no município de São Paulo-SP. São estudadas as justificativas e interesses que deram subsídio ao processo de tombamento do conjunto (iniciado em 1985) e também as diversas iniciativas de desenvolvimento urbano propostas para a área. Constatam-se as incoerências e sobreposições dos diferentes discursos e as mudanças dos valores atribuídos a um mesmo bem ao longo do tempo. Por fim, verifica-se a importância do diálogo entre as ações de preservação do patrimônio e de desenvolvimento urbano na cidade contemporânea.

Major evidence of nutrological regulation in obese patients with meta-inflammation: a systematic review

Introduction: Obesity stands out as a multifactorial disease that can cause several public health problems. There are 2.0 billion overweight and obese people in the world, and Brazil ranks fifth in the world. A healthy nutritional status promotes immune function and can prevent the onset of a serious inflammatory process and severe infections, especially in times of a pandemic such as COVID-19. Objective: It was to highlight the main clinical considerations of nutrological and dietary regulation in obese patients with marked inflammatory processes and meta-inflammation through a systematic review. Methods: The systematic review rules of the PRISMA Platform were followed. The research was carried out from August to September 2022 in Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, Scielo, and Google Scholar databases. The quality of the studies was based on the GRADE instrument and the risk of bias was analyzed according to the Cochrane instrument. Results and Conclusion: A total of 127 articles were found. A total of 74 articles were fully evaluated and 29 were included and developed in the present systematic review study. Considering the Cochrane tool for risk of bias, the overall assessment resulted in 32 studies at high risk of bias and 25 studies that did not meet the GRADE. Research has shown that unbalanced dietary patterns, such as the Western diet, rich in simple sugars, refined carbohydrates, and saturated and trans fatty acids, lead to chronic inflammatory responses, increased fat deposits, and future comorbidities associated with overweight and obesity. Caloric restriction decreased polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in obese patients and diet administration over 12 weeks had a beneficial effect. Furthermore, obese patients with antioxidant supplementation had lower values of BMI, waist circumference, fasting blood glucose level, and insulin resistance homeostasis model assessment when compared to the placebo group, as well as lower total cholesterol levels, triglycerides, LDL, malondialdehyde and tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Supplementation of n-3 PUFA can significantly reduce serum PCR, tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), and interleukin 6 (IL-6) concentrations

A UTILIZAÇÃO DO DISSILICATO DE LÍTIO EM ODONTOLOGIA

Introdução: Nas reabilitações orais a utilização de coroas metalo-cerâmicas tem sido padrão, devido principalmente a sua previsibilidade.1 Porém, com o objetivo de melhorar os resultados existentes no que tange as propriedades físicas, estéticas e, principalmente, de biocompatibilidade, diversos sistemas de cerâmica têm sido desenvolvidos. Objetivo: Descrever o sistema cerâmico de Dissilicato de Lítio. Metodologia: O Dissilicato de Lítio possui diversas aplicações. Possui uma resistência flexural de 400 Mpa, sendo considerado o maior valor entre as cerâmicas ácido sensíveis, possibilitando uma combinação entre a adesividade ao substrato cerâmico e a resistência flexural. Além disso, ressalta-se a dificuldade de propagação de trincas no interior das cerâmicas reforçadas com Dissilicato de Lítio, pois apresentam uma matriz vítrea na qual os cristais ficam dispersos de forma interlaçada. As coroas totalmente de Dissilicato de Lítio apresentam, independente do tipo de cimentação, bons resultados. Em contrapartida, as inlays confeccionadas com o mesmo material e instaladas na região posterior apresentaram uma elevada taxa de insucesso clínico. Estudos também demonstram que o Dissilicato de Lítio é um material biocompatível, com nível elevado de estética graças aos vários níveis de translucidez, além de adaptação marginal clinicamente aceitável. Este material pode ser produzido através da técnica de injeção ou de CAD-CAM.1 Conclusão: O Dissilicato de Lítio apresenta valores de resistência e adaptação aceitáveis, além de ser considerado um material biocompatível. Também apresenta um nível elevado de estética e independe da técnica de cimentação utilizada para o seu sucesso

Flexibilization and precarization of working conditions and labor relations in the perspective of app-based drivers

Purpose – The challenges of the growth of the sharing economy are becoming more and more noticeable and urgent, especially concerning labor relations (e.g. uberization). The purpose of this paper is to understand what app-based drivers think of working conditions and labor relations. Design/methodology/approach – The research was carried out in three stages: bibliographical and documental research, and two empirical research, a quantitative one with the application of a questionnaire in a sample of 54 respondents and another qualitative one using an interview script with ten drivers. For data analysis, the abductive method and the content analysis technique were used. Findings – The results reveal they have an exhausting labor routine, by checking that they work more hours per week than those who have a formal job. They are driven mainly by the extra income and flexibility that digital platforms of the sector of shared private transportation can offer, although the costs intrinsic to the activity often affect their revenues significantly. Research limitations/implications – The number of answers from women was very small, which hinders the analysis of the potential specificities of women app-based drivers. Future studies could focus on this public for a more precise analysis, to bring the discussion on gender to the working context of app-based drivers. Practical implications – The authors’ intention with the research reports was to make them relevant, leading to effective policies concerning working conditions and labor relations in the sharing economy, and to stimulate other surveys to understand the activity of an app-based driver of shared private transportation. Originality/value – The authors’ research and this article contribute to the discussion on new work relationships, motivations and (dis)satisfaction with the activity, from the perspective of app-based drivers

ANÁLISE BIBLIOMÉTRICA DAS PUBLICAÇÕES QUE ASSOCIAM OS TEMAS INOVAÇÃO, GESTÃO E MODELO DE NEGÓCIO

O processo de inovar representa uma das formas de renovação das organizações quando acompanhado pela gestão e pelo tema modelo de negócio associado aos objetivos estratégicos. Por tal contexto, objetivou-se com este estudo identificar e analisar as principais publicações que integram os temas inovação, gestão e modelo de negócio. Para isto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliométrica por meio do método Proknow-C e utilizadas as bases de dados Scopus e Web of Science. Os resultados revelam que o Reino Unido se apresenta com o maior número de publicações que associam esses temas e que as publicações dos últimos dois anos equivalem a 50% dos estudos identificados, o que revela o crescente interesse nesse foco de investigação. Destaca-se a relevância da gestão na inovação do modelo de negócio, bem como outros fatores internos e externos que podem facilitar o processo de inovar
