Nonequilibrium of the dense electric arc plasma cased by radiation transfer

The results of the tomographic spectroscopy study of the free burning electric arc plasma between evaporating copper electrodes are presented briefly. The role of resonance radiation in departure of the dense plasma from the state of local thermodynamic equilibrium is evaluated. The transfer of radiation in plasma is taken into consideration unlike well-known Griem criterion. The results of numerical modeling demonstrate the effects of non-equilibrium between the ground, metastable and resonant levels.Кратко изложены результаты томографической спектроскопии плазмы свободно горящих электрических дуг между медными испаряющимися электродами. Оценивается роль резонансного излучения в отклонении от состояния локального термического равновесия плотной электродуговой плазмы. В отличие от хорошо известного критерия Грима принимается в расчет перенос излучения в плазме. Результаты численного моделирования показывают наличие эффектов неравновесности между основным, метастабильным и резонансным уровнями.Коротко викладено результати томографічної спектроскопії плазми вільно горілих електричних дуг між мідними електродами, що випаровуються Оцінюється роль резонансного випромінювання у відхиленні від стану локальної термічної рівноваги щільної електродугової плазми. На відміну від добре відомого критерію Гріма ураховується перенесення випромінювання в плазмі. Результати чисельного моделювання показують наявність ефектів нерівноважності між основним, метастабільним і резонансним рівнями

Peculiarities of modelling of the enterprise investment attractiveness in the conditions of multicollinearity of predictors

© Medwell Journals, 2017. The study presents an approach to assess the enterprise investment attractiveness based on the econometric modeling of return on assets. The researchers underline the key role of financial indicators in assessing investment attractiveness and propose a system of financial ratios of the enterprise-predictors of return on assets. In the conditions of collinearity of prognostic factors, the researchers offer to implement ridge regression which enables to obtain better prognostic characteristics to preserve reliability and informational value of the modelling. The researchers suggest tools to analyze how predictors of return on assets contribute to the assessment of investment attractiveness whose quality was tested using standard fisher and student tests and the standard error. The results of the empirical evaluations carried out using the Gretl Software confirmed their feasibility for potential investors, shareholders and owners in managing the use of capital effectively

Synthesis of 5-aryl/heterylidene substituted 2-imino-4-thiazolidinones possessing 1,3,4-thiadiazole moiety and their antitrypanosomal activity

A novel 1,3,4-thiadiazole containing 2-iminothiazolidine-4-ones 4a-b were synthesized through the reaction of 2-chloro-N-(5-ethyl/allylsulfanyl-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl)-acetamides 1a-b with ammonium thiocyanate in dry acetone. Condensation of 4a-b with various carbonyl compounds according to the standard Knoevenagel procedure yielded the corresponding 5-arylidene- (5a-d), 5-heterylidene- (6a-c), 5-isatinylidene- (7a-b) and 5-(3-phenyl-2-propene-1-ylidene)- (8a-b) derivatives. All the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by their elemental analysis and spectral data. Synthesized compounds 4a, 5a, 5b, 6a, 6c and 7a were screened for their in vitro antitrypanosomal activity against T. brucei gambience (Feo strain). The 5-ylidene substituted compounds with S-allyl group in position 5 of thiadiazole cycle (5a, 5b, 6a and 7a) displayed good to excellent antitrypanosomal potency with a range IC50 = 7.3-12.8 µM

Energy characteristics of spherical glow discharge

The ultimate goal of this study is optimization of the modification processes, namely the constructional details’ surface nitriding, based on the using of glow discharge (GD). These processes are studied both experimentally and theoretically in spherical abnormal GD plasma in N2-Ar mixture. The balance equations for the density of charged particles and Poisson equation added with equation for heat conductivity are taken into account in the theoretical part of investigation. The last equation describes the influence of the hot cathode on the processes in discharge volume. As is shown, the correct account of the anode fall of potential plays a key role to represent adequately the volt-ampere characteristic of the spherical GD.Кінцевою метою цієї роботи є оптимізація процесів модифікації на основі використання жевріючого розряду (ЖР), а саме азотування поверхні конструкційних деталей. Ці процеси вивчені експериментально і теоретично в плазмі аномального сферичного ЖР у суміші N2-Ar. У теоретичній частині роботи розглянуто рівняння балансу концентрації заряджених частинок і рівняння Пуассона, доповнені рівнянням теплопровідності. Останнє з них описує вплив гарячого катода на процеси в розрядному об’ємі. Показано також, що коректне урахування прианодного падіння потенціалу відіграє ключову роль для адекватного моделювання вольт-амперної характеристики сферичного ЖР.Конечной целью данной работы является оптимизация процессов модификации, основанных на использовании тлеющего разряда (ТР), а именно азотирования поверхности конструкционных деталей. Эти процессы изучены экспериментально и теоретически в плазме аномального сферического ТР в смеси N2-Ar. В теоретической части работы рассмотрены уравнения баланса для плотности заряженных частиц и уравнение Пуассона, дополненные уравнением теплопроводности. Последнее из них описывает влияние горячего катода на процессы в разрядном объеме. Показано также, что корректный учет прианодного падения потенциала играет ключевую роль для адекватного моделирования вольт-амперной характеристики сферического ТР

СИНТЕЗ ТА ДОСЛІДЖЕННЯ АНТИТРИПАНОСОМНОЇ АКТИВНОСТІ НОВИХ 5-ІЛІДЕН-2-(1,3,4-ТІАДІАЗОЛ-2-ІЛ)ІМІНОТІАЗОЛІДИН-4-ОНІВ

The aim of work. Synthesize the new thiadiazolo-2-iminothiazolidin-4-ones and their 5-arylidene derivatives based on the heterocyclization reaction and Knoevenagel condensation and study their antitrypanosomal activity.Materials and Methods: organic synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, pharmacological screening.Results and Discussion. Following the cyclization reaction of N-(1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)substituted 2-chloroacetamides with ammonium thiocyanate in dry acetone the corresponding 2-imino-4-thiazolidinone derivatives have been obtained. Further chemical modification of synthesized methylene active 2-(1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)imino-4-thiazolidinones was performed via Knoevenagel condensation with various aromatic or heterocyclic aldehydes, isatin or cinnamic aldehyde derivatives have yielded a series of 5-aryl(heteryl)ylidene- and 5-isatin(3-phenylpropene)ylidene derivatives as potential antitrypanosomal agents. The structure of obtained compounds was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.Conclusions. The results of in vitro screening of antitrypanosomal activity against Trypanosoma brucei gambiense (TBG) allowed us to identify four highly active compounds which owned essential trypanocidal effect with a range of values IC50 within 7.3-12.8 µM.Мета роботи. На основі реакцій гетероциклізації та Кньовенагеля здійснити синтез нових тіадіазоло-2-імінотіазолідин-4-онів та їх 5-ариліденпохідних для скринінгу антитрипаносомної активності.Матеріали і методи. Органічний синтез, спектроскопія ЯМР, елементний аналіз, фармакологічний скринінг.Результати й обговорення. Циклізацією N-(1,3,4-тіадіазол-2-іл)заміщених 2-хлороацетамідів під дією амонію тіоціанату в середовищі ацетону синтезовано серію нових похідних 2-імінотіазолідин-4-ону. Наявність метиленактивної групи в положенні 5 тіазолідинового циклу отриманих 2-(1,3,4-тіадіазол-2-іл)імінотіазолідин-4-онів дозволила провести їх подальшу модифікацію в умовах реакції Кньовенагеля з різноманітними арил(гетерил)карбальдегідами, ізатином або похідними коричного альдегіду з утворенням серій відповідних 5-арил(гетерил)іліден- та 5-ізатин(3-фенілпропен)іліденпохідних як потенційних антитрипаносомних агентів. Структуру синтезованих сполук підтверджено елементним аналізом та спектроскопією ПМР.Висновки. Результати скринінгу антитрипаносомної активності in vitro синтезованих сполук на штамі Trypanosoma brucei gambiense (TBG) дозволили ідентифікувати чотири високоактивні сполуки, які зі значеннями IC50 в межах 7,3-12,8 мкМ володіли суттєвим трипаноцидним ефектом

In my work I wanted to find traces of different types of interventions and highlight their interference to photography. In this work I wanted to combine reportage photography with photomontage, but in a way which would still leave the viewer with a feeling of documentary photography

Mym cílem bylo vytvořit vyváženou kombinaci fotografie a akvarelu.V jedné práci jsem se snažil sjednotit prvky fotografie a malby a zároveň mezi nimi zachovat rovnováhu. Počínaje s tímto projektem jsem očekával, že budu schopen rozhodnout zda jde o konfrontaci nebo přátelství dvou různych technik. Čím více jsem experimentoval, tím více jsem chtěl spojit dvě techniky do jedné a propojit je tak, aby hranice mezi nimi byla propustná,téměř neviditelná. Chtěl jsem, aby práce měla stejně jasné rysy fotografie a akvarelu, přitom ale tvořila jednotny celek. Možná, že dnes v uměleckém prostředí neexistuje žádná konfrontace akvarelů a fotografie. Fotografie a akvarelová malba má dlouhou historii a popularitu. Zdá se, že jsem zmíněnou konfrontaci technik cítil spíše v sobě. Často jsem si musel vybírat mezi fotografií a akvarelem. Tato série mi pomohla usměrnit osobní konfrontaci mezi těmito dvěma žánry a vytvořit dílo, které propojuje oba břehy mé tvorby.ObhájenoPrague has inspired me to create a series of city landscapes where reality and fiction blend. Using a hybrid technique that combines painting and photography, I have created an array of urban scenes where each piece of work is a balance between photography and watercolor landscape. While working on this series, I have tried different ways of printing on a watercolor landscape. Ultimately, I attempted to find and eliminate the borderline between watercolor and photography by combining these two techniques into one. Occasionally, it is hard to decide if what you see a photography or watercolor landscape
