The “Social Guaranty Programs” are an educational alternative with the purpose of
achieving a Sociolaboral insertion, its basic objectives are: to extend (widen) basic (training)
formation, to prepare the student for a professional activity and to develop and assure his
personal growth. In this sense the end of these programs is to confer the student a basic and professional training, allowing the student either his insertion in active life or to carry on with his
studies, specially in Specific Professional Formation.
The “Social Guaranty Programs” are already implanted through out the whole country,
either with that name, (in Canarias, Baleares Isles, Navarra, MEC District) or titled like: “Work
Transition Programs” (Cataluña), or: “Professional Initialisation Centre” (País Vasco). In
Andaluczia they appeared in 1994 named as P.G.S. However, and though the time past since
it’s establishment, these programs have not been assessed. For that reason the research group
FORCEM has carried away a study with which it is intended to evaluate the practice of these
programs, focusing in the difficulties found by schools, associations and no lucrative entities
which have establish them.
In the same way this work tried to analyse the development of formative components
within these Programs, in order to try to determine whether the educational offer* suits initial
expectancies and the real needs that exist in the different zones. It also analyses whether the
resources (material and human) which the programs have been provided with are adequate and
sufficient, as well as those aspects that might be changed in order to contribute to its
improvement. Some of the results obtain in this work are shown in this article as well as some
proposals for improvement from these results.Grupo de Investigación FORCE Universidad de Granad

In-service training on teaching in the University of Granada: an answer to the teaching needs of academics
International Conference on Education. Bilbao, 18-20 de julio de 2013In the last years, Spanish universities have given great importance to in-service training focusing mainly
on the quality of teaching.
This increase, which is a clear sign of the effort done by Spanish universities to improve the professional competence of academics, must be accompanied by asp
ects such as the evaluation of the given
training/courses, the inclusion of different elements to be assessed, i.e. the lecturers, contents, structure of the course, number of participants, degree of satisfaction of the participants with the received training,
the impact of the course on the development of teaching competences and the impact of the new skills on the teaching practice, considering, mainly, the teaching of the participants.
This paper analyses the needs expressed by academics as well as the offer proposed by the University of Granada to those needs. A survey conducted in 2012/13 of more than 500 academics is used to gather informatio
Music as a model of social inclusion in educational spaces with gypsys and inmigrants students
Violence, racism, xenophobia and school absenteeism, are some of the prejudices and stereotypes that appear among students in many schools located in marginal urban areas with majority of population inmigrant and gypsy. The research focuses on the development and implementation of an intercultural education project supported in musical training which results from the different experiences in similar context. We hypothesize that musical training affects positively on the génesis of attitudes and values of respect and tolerance, as has occurred in countries as diverse as Venezuela, United States, United Kingdom and Brazil, to name a few examples. Methodologically it arises from a qualitative perspective using the ethnographic method and the techniques of the in-depth interview and the participant observation. The applied experience has generated the reduction of truancy, the overcoming of prejudices and stereotypes, and has allowed the construction of common spaces of coexistence and inclusion school, additionally promoting school success of such students.</p
This situation generated new relationships through significant characters, which forced a change in the initial vision of the indigenous people. We refer to Antonio de Montesinos, Bartolome de las Casas and Gines de Sepúlveda. Their actions allow us to analyze how Europe began to transform the image it had of the “other”, with the appearance of the concepts of equality and the rights of indigenous people through their legal defence.
