Based on a series of interviews with practicing dancerchoreographers, on the topic of transmission in dance, especially in the context of dance classes, this article attempts to bring out what is produced and contested at the heart of the dance relationship, seen as a practice of Otherness. What models of the Other dominate the relationship in dance ? How are they broken down ? How can this relationship be brought, not to forge an Other, an utopian, purified and disciplined body, but to cultivate the propensity of the body to its own fundamental heterogeneity

Relationship with the other in non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs)

C’est une volontĂ© de s’immerger dans le phĂ©nomĂšne pour mieux comprendre l’autre, les diffĂ©rentes interventions Ă©tant plus des moyens qu’une finalitĂ©.Dealing with the issue of the relationship with the other in non-pharmacological intervention (NPI) requires updating the psychic and subjective reality of the practitioner or researcher, the identification of his frames of thought, his involvement in the collection and the processing of these data. The interest and benefit of an NPI depends very much on the practitioner who proposes it or the researcher who evaluates it. Favorable conditions for the use of NPIs also lie in accepting the uncertainty of any encounter, learning as the encounter with the other takes place. It is a “comprehensive” intellectual posture guided through a dive into these constituent mechanisms. It is a desire to immerse oneself in the phenomenon to better understand the other, the different interventions being more means than an end

A ELABORAÇÃO DA MEMÓRIA NA DANÇA CONTEMPORÂNEA E A ARTE DA CITAÇÃO

By asking, at the beginning of her paper, how to think of the lifetime of a dance gesture, the researcher Isabelle Launay leads the reader to question the issues that concern the current idea that the dance history takes place through transmission processes. The purpose of the translation of this article is to present the hypothesis dealt with herein related to the importance of considering the forgetfulness process in the memory dynamics, which would enable comprehending history beyond a linear time axle.

Attenuated androgen discontinuation in patients with hereditary angioedema: a commented case series

    Get PDF
Background: Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is characterized by potentially severe and life-threatening attacks of localized swelling. Prophylactic therapies are available, including attenuated androgens. Efficacy of attenuated androgens has not been assessed in large, randomized, placebo-controlled trials and can be associated with frequent, and sometimes severe, side effects. As better tolerated targeted therapies become available, attenuated androgen withdrawal is increasingly considered by physicians and their patients with HAE. Attenuated androgens withdrawal has not been systematically studied in HAE, although examination of other disorders indicates that attenuated androgen withdrawal may result in mood disturbances and flu-like symptoms. Standardized protocols for attenuated androgen discontinuation that continue to provide control of attacks while limiting potential attenuated androgen withdrawal symptoms are not established as the outcomes of different withdrawal strategies have not been compared. We aim to describe the challenges of attenuated androgen discontinuation in patients with HAE and how these may continue into the post-androgen period. Case presentation: We present a retrospective case series of 10 patients with confirmed type I HAE who have discontinued prophylactic treatment with attenuated androgens. The most common reason for attenuated androgen discontinuation was side effects. Attenuated androgens were either immediately withdrawn, tapered and/or overlapped with another treatment. The major challenge of discontinuation was the management of an increased frequency and severity of HAE attacks in some patients. Conclusions: Healthcare teams need to undertake careful planning and monitoring after attenuated androgens discontinuation, and modify treatment strategies if HAE control is destabilized with an increased number of attacks. Discontinuation of attenuated androgens is definitively an option in an evolving HAE treatment landscape, and outcomes can be favourable with additional patient support and education

Cellular Immune Responses Induced with Dose-Sparing Intradermal Administration of HIV Vaccine to HIV-Uninfected Volunteers in the ANRS VAC16 Trial

The objective was to compare the safety and cellular immunogenicity of intradermal versus intramuscular immunization with an HIV-lipopeptide candidate vaccine (LIPO-4) in healthy volunteers.A randomized, open-label trial with 24 weeks of follow-up was conducted in France at six HIV-vaccine trial sites. Sixty-eight healthy 21- to 55-year-old HIV-uninfected subjects were randomized to receive the LIPO-4 vaccine (four HIV lipopeptides linked to a T-helper-stimulating epitope of tetanus-toxin protein) at weeks 0, 4 and 12, either intradermally (0.1 ml, 100 microg of each peptide) or intramuscularly (0.5 ml, 500 microg of each peptide). Comparative safety of both routes was evaluated. CD8+ T-cell immune responses to HIV epitopes (ELISpot interferon-gamma assay) and tetanus toxin-specific CD4+ T-cell responses (lymphoproliferation) were assessed at baseline, two weeks after each injection, and at week 24.No severe, serious or life-threatening adverse events were observed. Local pain was significantly more frequent after intramuscular injection, but local inflammatory reactions were more frequent after intradermal immunization. At weeks 2, 6, 14 and 24, the respective cumulative percentages of induced CD8+ T-cell responses to at least one HIV peptide were 9, 33, 39 and 52 (intradermal group) or 14, 20, 26 and 37 (intramuscular group), and induced tetanus toxin-specific CD4+ T-cell responses were 6, 27, 33 and 39 (intradermal), or 9, 46, 54 and 63 (intramuscular). In conclusion, intradermal LIPO-4 immunization was well tolerated, required one-fifth of the intramuscular dose, and induced similar HIV-specific CD8+ T-cell responses. Moreover, the immunization route influenced which antigen-specific T-cells (CD4+ or CD8+) were induced.ClinicalTrials.gov NCT00121121

Phytosphingosine-phosphate is a signal for AtMPK6 activation and Arabidopsis response to chilling

Long-chain bases (LCBs) are pleiotropic sphingolipidic signals in eukaryotes. We investigated the source and function of phytosphingosine-1-phosphate (PHS-P), a phospho-LCB rapidly and transiently formed in Arabidopsis thaliana on chilling.PHS-P was analysed by thin-layer chromatography following in vivo metabolic radiolabelling. Pharmacological and genetic approaches were used to identify the sphingosine kinase isoforms involved in cold-responsive PHS-P synthesis. Gene expression, mitogen-activated protein kinase activation and growth phenotypes of three LCB kinase mutants (lcbk1, sphk1 and lcbk2) were studied following cold exposure. Chilling provoked the rapid and transient formation of PHS-P in Arabidopsis cultured cells and plantlets. Cold-evoked PHS-P synthesis was reduced by LCB kinase inhibitors and abolished in the LCB kinase lcbk2 mutant, but not in lcbk1 and sphk1 mutants. lcbk2 presented a constitutive AtMPK6 activation at 22°C. AtMPK6 activation was also triggered by PHS-P treatment independently of PHS/PHS-P balance. lcbk2 mutants grew comparably with wild-type plants at 22 and 4°C, but exhibited a higher root growth at 12°C, correlated with an altered expression of the cold-responsive DELLA gene RGL3. Together, our data indicate a function for LCBK2 in planta. Furthermore, they connect PHS-P formation with plant response to cold, expanding the field of LCB signalling in plants
