Flashcards as a Media in Teaching English Vocabulary

This article aims to observe the using of flashcard as a media in teaching English vocabulary. The importance of language element is vocabulary because it is the vital organ of language. Teaching language needs media to deliver material to motivate the students and to put material easy to be understood. Therefore, this article examines two questions, namely how flashcard was used as media in teaching English vocabulary and is flashcards media effective in teaching English vocabulary. Classroom Action Research was used as a research method in this research. The result showed that the flashcard was prepared by teacher according to his/her creativity, such as the size and the content of words on the flashcards. The teacher used models of teaching vocabulary using flashcards, namely rhyme and lines flashcards, vocabulary introduction, find the pictures, story cards, categorizing vocabulary, and flashcard memory game. All the models have their steps. The result of research also showed that flashcard as a media is sufficient to improve the students\u27 vocabulary. It is indicated through the achievement of a pretest, where only two (2) students have 500 words. However, 6 (six) students got 1200 words in the posttest.   &nbsp

The Influence Micorhyza Arbuscular Indigenous to Growth Pepper Plant (Pipper nigrum L.)

Pepper is a plantation commodity that belongs to the spice category and has an important role in Indonesia's economic growth. Southeast Sulawesi is one of the centers for the development of pepper plants, especially in the South Konawe area. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of indigenous mycorrhizae on the growth of pepper plants which were carried out in Sindangkasih Village, West Ranomeeto District, South Konawe Regency. Analysis of dry weight and infection of indigenous mycorrhizae on the roots of pepper plants was carried out at the Agrotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Haluoleo Kendari. Data analysis in this study used a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, so there were 12 trials. The treatment consisted of 4 levels, namely without mycorrhizae (A0), 10 grams of mycorrhizae (A1), 15 grams of mycorrhizae (A2) and 20 grams of mycorrhizae (A3). The results showed that the application of indigenous arbuscular mycorrhizae had an effect on the growth parameters of pepper plants in the form of plant height, number of leaves and number of tendrils, where A3 produced higher plant height, number of leaves and number of tendrils and was significantly different from other treatments. Treatment A2 was not significantly different from treatment A1 but significantly different from treatment A0 (without mycorrhiza). Mycorrhizal inoculation of 20 grams/polybag can cause root infection of pepper plants to increase by 80.00%

The Ability of Ferns to Accumulate Heavy Metals (Hg, Pb And Cd) In The Waters of The Gorontalo River

Sustainable  development  can be caused by more human’s activity. This activity, it will have an impact on the surrounding  environment  which  can  disrupt  the  stability  of  the  ecosystem,  one  of  which  is  the  river  water ecosystem.  The  research  aims  to  determine  the  ability  of  ferns  in  accumulating  heavy  metals  so  that  they  can  be  used  as  indicators  of  the  depletion  of  river  waters  ecosystem  environments  and  can  be  used  as  fitoremediant areas  of  waters  which  accumulate  heavy  metals.  This  research   is  descriptive  quantitative.  Retrieval  of  initial  data or  sample  in  this  study  used  survey  methods  and  random  sampling  techniques,  testing  samples by  using   the Ranger  X-ray  Flourenciece  (XRF)  method.  Based  on  the  results  of  the  study  that, ferns  can  accumulate  heavy metals,  the  parts  that  accumulate  are  located  below  the  root  surface  and  above  the  soil  surface,  namely stems and  leaves.  In  the  roots  have  more  amount  in  accumulating  heavy  metals  than  in  the  stem  and  leaves, this  is because  the  metal  is  indicated  on  the  soil.  From  these  results,  it  can  be  concluded  that  ferns  can  be used as water  purification  plants  in  river  ecosystems  that  are  indicated  by  heavy  metals

Analisis Pandangan Penggunaan Uang Elektronik (e-money) t-cash sebagai Alat Transaksi pada Pelanggan Telkomsel (Tinjauan Ekonomi Keuangan Islam)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pandangan dalam penggunaan uang elektronik (e-money) t-cash sebagai alat transaksi yang digunakan sebagai pengganti uang tunai pada pelanggan telkomsel ditinjau dari segi ekonomi keuangan islam, untuk mengetahui pendapat para pelanggan telkomsel dalam pemanfaatan e-money t-cash sebagai alat tukar serta solusi untuk permasalahan dalam penggunaan produk e-money t-cash. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksplanasi dilakukan penelitian kualitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan e-money t-cash sebagai alat transaksi pelanggan telkomsel dilihat dari tinjauan Ekonomi Keuangan Islam meyakinkan pengguna untuk menggunakan layanan pembayaran melalui e-money t-cash sudah dapat diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dengan mengacu pada peraturan Bank Indonesia nomor 11/12/PBI/2009 dan Fatwa Dewan Syariah Nasional Majelis Ulama Indonesia nomor 116/DSN-MUI/IX/201

STRUKTUR ANATOMIS VALVULA INTESTINALIS PARI GITAR (Rhinobatos typus)

Rhinobatos typus is included in Elasmobranchii Subclasses which has a unique intestine structure on internal part forms folds called valvula intestinalis as extension surface of food absorption. The uniqueness is influenced by habitat differences and food types. Ray’s habitat is in all waters, one of them is in waters Wakatobi Island. The aims of this research to determine Rhinobatos typus anatomical structure variations of valvula intestinalis were decided by observing intestine internal folds variations. Microanatomy structures were performed by making histological preparations using paraffin method, NBF (netral buffer formalin) solution fixation with Hematoxilin-Eosin (HE) staining. The result of the research indicated microanatomis structures of Rhinobatos typus has valvula intestinalis in spiral-shaped. ROLE PLAY IN VIDEO TO ACCELERATE NON-ENGLISH STUDENTS’ MASTERY OF SPEAKING COMPETENCE

To teach English to non-English major students in Islamic University is unique. This perception is also applied among lecturers and to stimulate a conversation situation in which students might find and give them an opportunity to practice and develop their speaking ability. Therefore, the use of role play that involved in short film documenter or video is used in this study to make their English creatively, not only to practice speaking ability but the students can explore their acting. This study is an action research study, where pre-test and posttest are administered to obtain the data, in addition to observation and literature study. This research is carried out in two cycles, every cycle there are four components they are:  planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The result of this research showed that used role play in video can accelerate the non-English students’ department mastery of speaking competence. It showed the first cycle showed that only 10 or 40% students were competent.  While in the second cycle, there were 25 or 88% students gained the score more than 80.  It means that the indicator of success has reached. Pengembangan E-Modul Interaktif berbasis Android Bagi Dosen dan Mahasiswa Program Studi Tadris Bahasa Inggris IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo

Perkembangan teknologi yang begitu cepat dan massive saat ini tidak dapat dihindari lagi. Setiap lini kehidupan saat ini tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan perkembangan berbagai jenis teknologi bahkan cenderung terjadi kecanduan oleh berbagai latar penggunanya. Integrasi teknologi yang dahulu diprediksi merusak sistem pendidikan oleh beberapa kalangan, justru hari ini menjadi tandem sejati yang turut dimanfaatkan oleh pelaku pendidikan itu sendiri. Sumber belajar dalam konteks penelitian ini adalah segala informasi belajar yang berkaitan dengan kajian kebahasaan dan atau pendidikan bahasa Inggris dalam pengertian yang lebih spesifik. Sumber belajar menurut Manoharan (2018) adalah para pengajar itu sendiri dan materi ajar baik berupa buku teks pelajaran atau sumber bacaan lainnya. Sumber belajar adalah segala hal yang bisa memberikan informasi mengenai proses belajar dan mengajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development atau R&D. Menurut Sugiyono, “R&D” sebagai penelitian yang menghasilkan produk pada akhir penelitianya dan kemudian menguji tingkat keefektifan produk tersebut. Penelitian dan pengembangan mengacu pada tahap penyelidikan serta eksperimen untuk dapat menciptakan sebuah produk baru atau untuk memperbaiki produk yang sudah ada sebelumnya, sehingga menjadi produk baru dan lebih unggul. Pembelajaranmenggunakan bahan ajar e-modul interaktif berbasis Flip Pdf Professional dilakukan pada jurusan Tadris Bahasa Inggris (TBI). Penelitian ini menggambarkan proses pembuatan e-modul menggunakan Flip Profesional PDF. Flip pdf professional adalah media interaktif yang dapat dengan mudah menambahkan berbagai jenis tipe media animatif ke dalam flipbook. Hanya dengan drag, drop atau klik, kita dapat menyisipkan video youtube, hyperlink, teks animatif, gambar, audio dan flash ke dalam flipboo

GERAKAN PEDULI LINGKUNGAN SEBAGAI UPAYA PENANGGULANGAN SAMPAH DI DAERAH PESISIR KABUPATEN BUTON SELATAN

Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Lingkungan Hidup se-Dunia, pemerintah daerah Kabupaten Buton Selatan bekerja sama dengan program studi Pendidikan Biologi mengajak masyarakat pesisir untuk bersama-sama membersihkan sampah di lingkungan pesisir desa Jaya bakti dan desa Wawoangi. Kegiatan ini terdiri atas tiga tahap, yaitu: tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepedulian masyarakat pesisir dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan pesisir. Kegiatan ini melibatkan seluruh masyarakat pesisir desa Jaya Bakti dan desa Wawoangi, serta Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Buton Selatan. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat pesisir akan pentingnya membuang sampah di tempat sampah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya permintaan pembuangan sampah di beberapa titik yg dapat dijangkau oleh masyarakat
