Purpose: to study the clinical manifestations of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) II type and the possible association of mutations in the genes of endothelial NO-synthase (eNOS), angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and receptor of angiotensin II type 1 (AT2R1) with the development of type II diabetes in these patients. Materials and methods. The study involved 318 patients with CAD, of whom 54 (17,0%) patients had type II DM and 264 (83,0%) patients -without diabetes. Study of allelic polymorphism of T-786S of eNOS gene promoter, insertion-deletion (I/D) polymorphism of ACE gene and polymorphism A1166S of AT2R1 gene was performed by polymerase chain reaction. Results. In patients with CAD and DM type II such risk factors as hypertension, obesity, family history with early onset of cardiovascular disease were significantly more common; CAD manifestation occurs at a younger age, myocardial ischemia more often has silent nature. In the presence of type II DM, coronary artery lesions were of diffuse and multivessel character, other vascular pools are often involved in the atherosclerotic process. An independent association of type II diabetes with hypertension, obesity, and CC genotype of eNOS gene T-786S polymorphism was identified in patients with CAD. Negative independent influence of ACE gene I/D polymorphism of D allele and AT2R1 gene A1166S polymorphism C allele on renal function in patients with CAD and type II DM was proved

Results of the study of the vestibular apparatus and the functions of the perception of space in cosmonauts (pre- and post-flight observations)

The effect of the set of space flight factors caused a change in the activity of the vestibular apparatus and the spatial perception function. More significant and longer shifts were observed during expeditions of great duration. The detected disorders (increase in reactivity of the otolithic apparatus, decrease in sensitivity of the cupula receptor, deterioration in the perception accuracy, etc.) had a definite tendency to be restored. The primary damage to the otolithic reflex (changes were found in practically all the subjects) is probably caused by the specific effect of zero gravitation, and apparently, may be one of the trigger mechanisms for discrepancy in the activity of the sensory systems, disorders in the correcting function of the cerebellum, and central vestibular formations

Results of the investigation of the otolith function in manned space flights

The effects of conditions of long term and short term space flights on the otolith function of cosmonauts were investigated via pre and post examinations. The results show that after long term flight, the intensity of the otolith reflex increased and asymmetry occurred in the indicators of the otolith function. Large changes in terms of expression and duration in the indicators of the otolith function after long term flight as compared with short term flight were also noted

The article deals with the problem of representing the atmosphere in a biographical writing. The author of the article reveals the meaning, relevance of the concept of the atmosphere of a place; shows the importance of this concept for the philosophical analysis of biographical writing. A connection between the concept of atmosphere in G. Boehme, the aura of V. Benjamin, genius loci of Norberg-Schultz is analyzed. The question is raised about the methodological approach to the description of the atmosphere in biographies. The phenomenological description of the atmosphere of space and the approach to the phenomenon of the atmosphere of V. Podoroga are considered. The concept of rhythm and physiology of the text by V. Podoroga is analyzed as way of representing the atmosphere. On the basis of these approaches the biographical texts of such authors as M. Herman, A. Akhmatova, V. Nabokov are considered. The author comes to conclusion that it is necessary to describe the atmosphere as a special intermediate space of mood which characterizes the individuality of place and has its impact on memory of the biographical writing.

The correlation between fatigue and fracture characteristics of titanium alloys

Interrelation between fatigue and fracture characteristics for titanium alloy has been shown basing on the analysis of the fatigue curves equations and fatigue fracture diagrams which incorporate cyclic loading rate and cycles asymmetry ratio. The kinetic diagrams equations parameters can be obtained from fatigue curve equation. The calculated fatigue and fracture resistance characteristics were compared with the experiments for VT1-0 titanium alloy
