The effect of the set of space flight factors caused a change in the activity of the vestibular apparatus and the spatial perception function. More significant and longer shifts were observed during expeditions of great duration. The detected disorders (increase in reactivity of the otolithic apparatus, decrease in sensitivity of the cupula receptor, deterioration in the perception accuracy, etc.) had a definite tendency to be restored. The primary damage to the otolithic reflex (changes were found in practically all the subjects) is probably caused by the specific effect of zero gravitation, and apparently, may be one of the trigger mechanisms for discrepancy in the activity of the sensory systems, disorders in the correcting function of the cerebellum, and central vestibular formations

We report first ab initio relativistic correlation calculations of potential curves for ten low-lying electronic states, effective electric field on the electron and hyperfine constants for the ^3\Delta_1 state of cation of a heavy transition metal fluoride, HfF^+, that is suggested to be used as the working state in experiments to search for the electric dipole moment of the electron. It is shown that HfF^+ has deeply bound ^1\Sigma^+ ground state, its dissociation energy is D_e=6.4 eV. The ^3\Delta_1 state is obtained to be the relatively long-lived first excited state lying about 0.2 eV higher. The calculated effective electric field E_eff=W_d|\Omega| acting on an electron in this state is 5.84*10^{24}Hz/(e*cm)Comment: 4 page

Proton acceleration in analytic reconnecting current sheets

Particle acceleration provides an important signature for the magnetic collapse that accompanies a solar flare. Most particle acceleration studies, however, invoke magnetic and electric field models that are analytically convenient rather than solutions of the governing magnetohydrodynamic equations. In this paper a self-consistent magnetic reconnection solution is employed to investigate proton orbits, energy gains, and acceleration timescales for proton acceleration in solar flares. The magnetic field configuration is derived from the analytic reconnection solution of Craig and Henton. For the physically realistic case in which magnetic pressure of the current sheet is limited at small resistivities, the model contains a single free parameter that specifies the shear of the velocity field. It is shown that in the absence of losses, the field produces particle acceleration spectra characteristic of magnetic X-points. Specifically, the energy distribution approximates a power law ~ΞΎ-3/2 nonrelativistically, but steepens slightly at the higher energies. Using realistic values of the β€œeffective” resistivity, we obtain energies and acceleration times that fall within the range of observational data for proton acceleration in the solar corona

We report ab initio relativistic correlation calculations of potential curves and spectroscopic constants for four lowest-lying electronic states of the lead monofluoride. We also calculated parameters of the spin-rotational Hamiltonian for the ground and the first excited states including P,T-odd and P-odd terms. In particular, we have obtained hyperfine constants of the 207^{207}Pb nucleus. For the 2Ξ 1/2^2\Pi_{1/2} state AβŠ₯=βˆ’6859.6A_\perp=-6859.6 MHz, Aβˆ₯=9726.9A_\|=9726.9 MHz and for the A2Ξ£1/2+^2\Sigma^+_{1/2} AβŠ₯=1720.8A_\perp=1720.8 MHz, Aβˆ₯=3073.3A_\|=3073.3 MHz. Our values of the ground state hyperfine constants are in good agreement with the previous theoretical studies. We discuss and explain seeming disagreement in the sign of the constant AβŠ₯A_\perp with the recent experimental data. The effective electric field on the electron EeffE_{eff}, which is important for the planned experiment to search for the electric dipole moment of the electron, is found to be 3.3 * 10^{10} V/cm

On Nonperturbative Calculations in Quantum Electrodynamics

A new approach to nonperturbative calculations in quantum electrodynamics is proposed. The approach is based on a regular iteration scheme for solution of Schwinger-Dyson equations for generating functional of Green functions. The approach allows one to take into account the gauge invariance conditions (Ward identities) and to perform the renormalization program. The iteration scheme can be realized in two versions. The first one ("perturbative vacuum") corresponds to chain summation in the diagram language. In this version in four-dimensional theory the non-physical singularity (Landau pole) arises which leads to the triviality of the renormalized theory. The second version ("nonperturbative vacuum") corresponds to ladder summation and permits one to make non-perturbative calculations of physical quantities in spite of the triviality problem. For chiral-symmetrical leading approximation two terms of the expansion of the first-step vertex function over photon momentum are calculated. A formula for anomalous magnetic moment is obtained. A problem of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking (DCSB) is considered, the calculations are performed for renormalized theory in Minkowsky space. In the strong coupling region DCSB-solutions arise. For the renormalized theory a DCSB-solution is also possible in the weak coupling region but with a subsidiary condition on the value of Ξ±\alpha.Comment: 31 pages, Plain LaTex, no figures. Ovarian cancer (OC) occupies the third place in the structure of gynecological malignancies and it’s still known for its high mortality rate. Therefore this disease remains one of the actual problems in modern oncology. The standard of care for patients with OC consists of primary surgery, followed by platinum-based chemotherapy in a case of the disease recurrence. These combined chemotherapy regimens allow to make significant improvement in survival rates in patients with OC. Surgery is another treatment option which can be applied in patients with recurrent OC including disease recurrence after prior chemotherapy. This method enables to make considerable improvement in survival for this certain group of patients. We report a clinical case of young patient suffering from recurrent OC. The disease was initially diagnosed in 2001. After that the patient underwent several types of surgery and multiple courses of polychemotherapy. Detection of disease recurrence in 2013 required to conduct a very complicated surgical treatment. Currently this patient is under active follow-up with no signs of disease progression or disease recurrence. Application of enterocystoplasty technique (bladder augmentation using bowel segments) in reconstruction of the urinary tract in this particular case enabled to preserve the quality of patient’s life as well as to conduct radical surgery. In order to reduce artificial bladder activity, reduce/eliminate urinary incontinence and improve the quality of patient’s life botulinum toxin A was injected into the bladder wall. The effectΒ of this injection was positive. To sum up, teamwork between the members of urology and oncology departments done in time allowed to provide complete urologic help which included examination with the use of modern highly technological equipment and treatment followed by methods of neurological rehabilitation. All these led to significant improvement of the quality of the patient’s life.Π Π°ΠΊ яичников (Π Π―) Π·Π°Π½ΠΈΠΌΠ°Π΅Ρ‚ 3-Π΅ мСсто Π² структурС злокачСствСнных Π½ΠΎΠ²ΠΎΠΎΠ±Ρ€Π°Π·ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½ΠΈΠΉ ТСнской Ρ€Π΅ΠΏΡ€ΠΎΠ΄ΡƒΠΊΡ‚ΠΈΠ²Π½ΠΎΠΉ систСмы, ΡΠΌΠ΅Ρ€Ρ‚Π½ΠΎΡΡ‚ΡŒ ΠΎΡ‚ Π Π― остаСтся высокой, Π² связи с Ρ‡Π΅ΠΌ это Π·Π°Π±ΠΎΠ»Π΅Π²Π°Π½ΠΈΠ΅ являСтся Π°ΠΊΡ‚ΡƒΠ°Π»ΡŒΠ½ΠΎΠΉ ΠΏΡ€ΠΎΠ±Π»Π΅ΠΌΠΎΠΉ Π² соврСмСнной ΠΎΠ½ΠΊΠΎΠ»ΠΎΠ³ΠΈΠΈ. Brain metabolism changes in cases of impaired breathing or blood circulation in rodents evaluated by real time optical spectroscopy methods

    Get PDF
The aim of the study was to compare the metabolic activity of brain cortex after the acute hypoxia caused by the impairment of breathing or blood circulation. Male Wistar rats were randomized in two groups: impaired breathing and blood circulation failure groups. Fluorescence under 365 and 450 nm excitation and diffuse reflectance intensity at 550-820 nm range were estimated. We found that after long-term hypoxic conditions, notable metabolic changes occur. We suppose that oxygen deficiency causes an activation of the GABA shunt mechanism. In cases of blood circulation failure, fluorescence intensity changes faster than in cases of breathing impairment
