Economic Nationalism and Developmentalism
This paper offers an overall picture of economic nationalism and its relationship with developmentalism – the form of economic and political organization alternative to economic liberalism that involves a moderate but effective state intervention. Why nationalism is a modern ideology; how it is associated with the nation and the nation-state; why it confronts with the West\u27s imperialism. Why, given the competition among nation-states that characterizes global capitalism, there is an “anti” element to nationalism. Why developing countries must challenge the West\u27s ideological hegemony and define a project of economic development that makes them able to compete Internationally and make the catching up

Beyond the Standard models of particle physics and cosmology
The modern Standard cosmological model of inflationary Unvierse and
baryosynthesis deeply involves particle theory beyond the Standard model (BSM).
Inevitably, models of BSM physics lead to cosmological scenarios beyond the
Standard cosmological paradigm. Scenarios of dark atom cosmology in the context
of puzzles of direct and indirect dark matter searches, of clusters of massive
primordial black holes as the source of gravitational wave signals and of
antimatter globular cluster as the source of cosmic antihelium are discussed.Comment: Prepared for Proceedings of XXI Bled Workshop "What comes beyond the
Standard models?
The impact of governance on management research
The rigor versus relevance debate of management research is ongoing. We
contribute to this discussion by contrasting alternative assumptions about
generating management knowledge and linking knowledge generation to academic
governance. Specifically, we show that knowledge-by-representation dominates
the field and is reinforced by the governance structures and processes guiding
our academic management journals, peer review, and business school practices.
We propose governance changes in academic publishing to encourage innovative
research that may also generate knowledge-by-exemplification with strong ties
to management practice

Decoupling segmental relaxation and ionic conductivity for lithium-ion polymer electrolytes
International audienceThe use of polymer electrolytes instead of liquid organic systems is considered key for enhancing the safety of lithium batteries and may, in addition, enable the transition to high-energy lithium metal anodes. An intrinsic limitation, however, is their rather low ionic conductivity at ambient temperature. Nonetheless, it has been suggested that this might be overcome by decoupling the ion transport and the segmental relaxation of the coordinating polymer. Here, we provide an overview of the different approaches to achieve such decoupling, including a brief recapitulation of the segmental-relaxation dependent ion conduction mechanism, exemplarily focusing on the archetype of polymer electrolytes – polyethylene oxide (PEO). In fact, while the understanding of the underlying mechanisms has greatly improved within recent years, it remains rather challenging to outperform PEO-based electrolyte systems. Nonetheless, it is not impossible, as highlighted by several examples mentioned herein, especially in consideration of the extremely rich polymer chemistry and with respect to the substantial progress already achieved in designing tailored molecules with well-defined nanostructures
