On a rigorous interpretation of the quantum Schrödinger–Langevin operator in bounded domains with applications

AbstractIn this paper we make it mathematically rigorous the formulation of the following quantum Schrödinger–Langevin nonlinear operator for the wavefunctionAQSL=iℏ∂t+ℏ22mΔx−λ(Sψ−〈Sψ〉)−Θℏ[nψ,Jψ] in bounded domains via its mild interpretation. The a priori ambiguity caused by the presence of the multi-valued potential λSψ, proportional to the argument of the complex-valued wavefunctionψ=|ψ|exp{iℏSψ}, is circumvented by subtracting its positional expectation value,〈Sψ〉(t):=∫ΩSψ(t,x)nψ(t,x)dx, as motivated in the original derivation (Kostin, 1972 [45]). The problem to be solved in order to find Sψ is mostly deduced from the modulus-argument decomposition of ψ and dealt with much like in Guerrero et al. (2010) [37]. Here ℏ is the (reduced) Planck constant, m is the particle mass, λ is a friction coefficient, nψ=|ψ|2 is the local probability density, Jψ=ℏmIm(ψ¯∇xψ) denotes the electric current density, and Θℏ is a general operator (eventually nonlinear) that only depends upon the macroscopic observables nψ and Jψ. In this framework, we show local well-posedness of the initial-boundary value problem associated with the Schrödinger–Langevin operator AQSL in bounded domains. In particular, all of our results apply to the analysis of the well-known Kostin equation derived in Kostin (1972) [45] and of the Schrödinger–Langevin equation with Poisson coupling and enthalpy dependence (Jüngel et al., 2002 [41])

Se pretendió probar que algunos obstáculos en la comprensión de las ciencias no están causados por esquemas conceptuales alternativos, sino por deficiencias en los niveles de comprensión lectora y de control de la propia comprensión de los estudiantes Se midieron esos niveles y se controlaron las ideas alternativas en dos muestras de estudiantes de 4º de ESO. Los alumnos leyeron un texto experimental sobre Evolución de las Especies y respondieron cuestiones consultando el texto a voluntad. Se predijeron diferencias claras en las respuestas según los niveles de comprensión lectora y control de la comprensión, pero no debidas a esquemas conceptuales lamarckianos. Estudio del desbalance de tensiones y sus efectos en la calidad del producto técnico para sistemas de distribución a Nivel Industrial

En el presente trabajo se evalúan parámetros de calidad a nivel industrial para establecer límites y resaltar deficiencias que presenta la normativa vigente respecto al desbalance de tensiones pues un parámetro importante para el buen funcionamiento de equipo y maquinaria en la industria; se presenta una breve reseña de como aumenta la demanda y a la misma vez mayor exigencia de la calidad de la energía eléctrica como producto técnico, además se presenta un estudio comparativo entre la normativa vigente con normativas centroamericanas y de otros países. También se presenta una definición a nivel de ingeniería de lo que es el desbalance de tensiones y sus efectos, se realiza un análisis de datos con métodos estadísticos, finalmente se proponen recomendaciones para disminuir este problem

Combining Deep Learning and Compressed SensingMethods for the 3D Characterization of Ultra-ThinEpitaxial Layers Grown on Controlled-Shape Nano-Oxides

Using a nanostructured platform (a controlled-shape nano-oxide) and conventional wet impregnation techniques, powder-type materials have been prepared in which atomically thin surface layers are deposited under very mild conditions. More importantly, an advanced methodology, combining energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy-scanning transmission electron tomography (STEM-EDX ET) and deep learning denoising techniques, has been developed for the 3D compositional characterization of these unique nanosystems. The complex case of LaOx-coated CeO2 nanocubes is illustrated. For these, aberration corrected 2D STEM-EDX evidence that ceria nanocubes become covered with a 2–4 atom-thick layer of a La, Ce-mixed oxide with spatially varying composition. However, STEM-EDX ET reveals that this layer distributes unevenly, patching most of the available nanocube surface. The large flexibility and spread availability of the involved synthetic techniques enables, using the tools here developed, a wide exploration of the wealth of questions and applications of these intriguing, atomically thin, surface oxide phases10 página

Catalytic Performance of Ni/CeO2/X-ZrO2 (X = Ca, Y) Catalysts in the Aqueous-Phase Reforming of Methanol

In this study, we reported on the effect of promoting Ni/ZrO2 catalysts with Ce, Ca (two different loadings), and Y for the aqueous-phase reforming (APR) of methanol. We mainly focused on the effect of the redox properties of ceria and the basicity provided by calcium or yttrium on the activity and selectivity of Ni in this reaction. A systematic characterization of the catalysts was performed using complementary methods such as XRD, XPS, TPR, CO2-TPD, H-2 chemisorption, HAADF-STEM, and EDS-STEM. Our results reveal that the improvement in reducibility derived from the incorporation of Ce did not have a positive impact on catalytic behaviour thus contrasting with the results reported in the literature for other Ce-based catalytic compositions. On the contrary, the available Ni-metallic surface and the presence of weak basic sites derived from Ca incorporation seem to play a major role on the catalytic performance for APR of methanol. The best performance was found for a Ce-free catalyst with a molar Ca content of 4%

Valuation models for holiday rentals’ daily rates: price composition based on Booking.com

In recent years, the number of sharing economy accommodations has grown exponentially due to the Internet and peer-to-peer networks, which has made researchers increasingly interested in analysing this new type of lodging. This study sought to develop models that determine the significant variables for the daily price of staying in holiday rentals based on data extracted from Booking.com and other sources. The hedonic pricing method (HPM) was selected to conduct the research as this methodology has been widely used in real estate valuation and hotel daily rate determination; however, the HPM is still rarely used for holiday rentals. The study focused on the city of Seville, where a notable increase in holiday rentals has been observed in recent years. Variables related to the accommodation typology, including location, size and equipment, as well as seasonality, are the most influential factors in the proposed models. These results are of interest to both owners and users of holiday rentals and can help these individuals to determine if the price of a stay is what would commonly be offered in the market under normal circumstances.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
