A hardware mechanism to reduce the energy consumption of the register file of in-order architectures

This paper introduces an efficient hardware approach to reduce the register file energy consumption by turning unused registers into a low power state. Bypassing the register fields of the fetch instruction to the decode stage allows the identification of registers required by the current instruction (instruction predecode) and allows the control logic to turn them back on. They are put into the low-power state after the instruction use. This technique achieves an 85% energy reduction with no performance penalty

Diseño y construcción de una máquina clasificadora de tomate riñon – variedad daniela de 80 cartones de 23 [kg/h] de capacidad.

En la carrera de ingeniería mecánica se presenta la necesidad de diseñar y construir máquinas que faciliten la resolución de problemas, en la parroquia Yaruquíes perteneciente al cantón Riobamba cultivan tomate riñón y su clasificación lo realizan de forma manual faltando a normas de manipulación de alimentos, de tal manera se ve la necesidad de fabricar una máquina clasificadora. Utilizamos una metodología para encontrar la mejor alternativa de solución, la cual partimos del estudio del arte, con ello realizamos un análisis previo, guiándonos con encuestas, un estudio de campo, características del tomate, métodos de clasificación. Procedemos al diseño conceptual, requerimientos en base a la matriz QFD. Diseño de los elementos de la máquina, selección de la mejor alternativa, estudio de elementos, utilización de fórmulas para el dimensionamiento de los componentes. Diseño de detalle, se presenta los documentos necesarios para la fabricación como son planos de piezas, memorias de cálculo. Como resultado de la evaluación de la máquina clasificadora de tomate en correspondencia con la capacidad proyectada a 80 cartones de 23 kg/hora cuyas variables de salida fueron el tiempo y la efectividad de la clasificación, se obtuvo un tiempo de 0.82 horas y una calidad de clasificación del 98.85% cumpliendo así con los requerimientos del patrocinador. Se recomienda que el producto debe encontrarse en un porcentaje de madurez del 60%. Concluimos que la máquina es eficiente y no muy costosa comparada con las máquinas del exterior. Recomendamos al transportarla de un lugar a otro se las haga con el mayor cuidado posible, para que sus componentes no desalineen y pierda eficiencia.In the mechanical engineering career, the need to design and construct machines that facilitate the resolution of problems in the Yaruquíes parish belonging to the Riobamba canton grow tomatoes (tomate riñon) and their classification is carried out manually, without food manipulation norms, such a way has seen the need to manufacture a sorting machine. We use a methodology to find the best alternative solution, which we start from the study of art, with which we perform a previous analysis, guiding us with surveys, a field study, tomato characteristics, classification methods. We proceed to the conceptual design, requirements based on the QFD matrix. Design the elements of the machine, selection of the best alternative, study of elements, use of formulas for the sizing of components. Detail design presents the necessary documents for the manufacturing, as they are parts blueprints, calculation memories. As a result of the evaluation, the machine of the tomato sorter in correspondence with the projected capacity of 80 cartons of 23 kg / hour whose output variables were the time and the effectiveness of classification was obtained a time of 0.82 hours and a quality of classification of 98.85% fulfilling thus the requirements of the sponsor. It is recommended the product should be in a 60% maturity percentage. We conclude that the machine is efficient and not very expensive compared to the machines outside. We recommend that you carry it from one place to another with the greatest possible care so that its components do not misalign and lose efficiency

Injury incidence, characteristics and burden among female sub-elite futsal players: A prospective study with three-year follow-up

The main purpose of the current study was to analyze the injury incidence, characteristics and burden among sub-elite female futsal players. Individual exposure to match play and training, injury incidence and characteristics (player position, injury mechanism, type of injuries, severity of injuries, recurrent versus new injuries, season variation of injury pattern) in a female futsal team were prospectively recorded for three consecutive seasons (2015-2018). Incidences were calculated per 1000 hours of exposure. A total of 30 injuries were reported during the three seasons within a total exposure of 4446.1 hours. The overall, match and training incidence of injuries were 6.7, 6.4 and 6.8 injuries/1000 hours of exposure, respectively. Most injuries had a non-contact mechanism (93%), with the lower extremity being the most frequently injured anatomical region (5.62 injuries/1000 hours of exposure). The most common type of injury was muscle/tendon (4.9 injuries/1000 hours of exposure) followed by joint (non-bone) and ligament (1.3 injuries/1000 hours of exposure). The injuries with the highest injury burden were those that occurred at the knee (31.9 days loss/1000 hours exposure), followed by quadriceps (15.3 day loss/1000 hours) and hamstring (14.4 day loss/1000 hours) strains. The first few weeks of competition after pre-season and soon after the Christmas break were the time points when most injuries occurred. These data indicate that sub-elite female futsal players are exposed to a substantial risk of sustaining an injury. To reduce overall injury burden, efforts should be directed toward the design, implementation and assessment of preventative measures that target the most common diagnoses, namely, muscle/tendon and ligament injuries

Hacia un nuevo modelo económico

El Seminario Nacional sobre Alternativas para la Economía Mexicana desarrolló un análisis integral de la situación y perspectivas de la economía mexicana bajo el actual entorno mundial, con el propósito de determinar las alternativas viables de política económica que permitan a México lograr un crecimiento económico sostenido con menor vulnerabilidad externa y mejor distribución del ingreso en el marco de un desarrollo ambientalmente sustentable. Convocado por centros de investigación y docencia de la UNAM, UAM, U de G., IPN, UIA, UAP, UPN, UACH, UAS, UNISON, UAEM, UAZ, UADY, UAJ, UNACH y COLSON, el Seminario contó con la participación de más de trescientos científicos sociales de importantes instituciones académicas del país (además de las mencionadas, UANI, COLMEX, ITESM, ITAM, COLEF, COLMICH, CIAD, U. la Salle, etc.) y se celebró en dos grandes fases: seminarios modulares por bloques temáticos, realizados en diversas sedes del país en el curso de octubre de 1993, y un seminario general, realizado en noviembre, que abordó el conjunto de la problemática económica y social de México y las alternativas viables de desarrollo económico con equidad. El análisis interdisciplinario y multidisciplinario de la economía mexicana y de su entorno internacional arrojó resultados altamente relevantes en tres grandes direcciones: 1) la determinación de los márgenes de libertad que el entorno económico mundial otorga a México para el diseño e instrumentación de una nueva estrategia de desarrollo económico; 2) la evaluación objetiva, basada en las evidencias empíricas, de los principios, instrumentos y resultados de las políticas neoliberales de ajuste económico y estabilización instrumentadas en México a partir de 1983; 3) la delineación de los principios e instrumentos fundamentales de una estrategia alternativa de desarrollo incluyente de la mayoría de los mexicanos y asentada en equilibrios macroeconómicos sólidos derivados del fortalecimiento de nuestra economía real y del bienestar mexicanos. Parameterization of the Construction Promoter\u27s Responsibilities throughout the project\u27s life cycle

Europe, and especially Spain has been suffering an ongoing economic, social and political crisis. The construction industry sector has been one of the most affected. Project Management professionals in the construction industry are obliged to make a critical analysis of their results and methodology applications used in recent years. In this paper a methodology has been developed for parameterization and monitoring of projects, portfolios and programs from both the public or private Construction Promoter\u27s point of view -the real engine of the project-. This methodology analyses their responsibilities and those of the stakeholders throughout the project\u27s lifecycle, and allows the Promoter to make decisions based on accurate, realistic and factual knowledge. The project\u27s full data is completely accessible by the Promoter. Thus the Promoter is able to develop a Project Portfolio Management and Business Intelligence. The Next step in the methodology evolution is transferring it to an ICT tool, for a promoter\u27s systematic application. Project management will assist in providing a social improvement, this method is associated with current social demands at all levels and sectors -Transparency- thus allowing realtime monitoring of the building project\u27s status throughout all stages of the project\u27s life cycle

Planeamiento estratégico para sociedad minera El Brocal S.A.A.

Sociedad Minera El Brocal es una empresa minera dedicada a la extracción, concentración y comercialización de minerales polimetálicos como la plata, el plomo, el zinc y el cobre. La empresa realiza sus operaciones en las unidades mineras de Colquijirca y la Planta Concentradora de Huaraucaca, localizadas en el distrito de Tinyahuarco, provincia de Pasco, región de Pasco, Perú. Sus oficinas administrativas están localizadas en el distrito de San Isidro, en la ciudad de Lima, Perú. La competitividad en la industria minera se caracteriza por la habilidad de los operadores de producir concentrados o metal a bajo costo, debido a que las empresas no tienen capacidad de influir en los precios de venta. En ese sentido, El Brocal cuenta con ventajas competitivas significativas, como es el ser titular de importantes yacimientos mineros, tener acceso a infraestructura (energía, transporte, etc.), y contar con mano de obra calificada, entre otras. Gran parte de sus esfuerzos y recursos económicos priorizan la culminación de la Planta 2, con una capacidad de producción de 11 mil TMS, que se complementa con la producción de la Planta 1, que es de 7 mil TMS. Juntas producirán un total de 18 mil TMS. Se propone que la visión se plantee en un horizonte de 15 años, al 2030, por la naturaleza del sector minero, y contempla la explotación del mineral, según la demanda del mercado nacional e internacional aprovechando la mayor rentabilidad del mismo, lo que garantizará las operaciones de “El Brocal”, comprometidos con el cuidado el medio ambiente y la responsabilidad social. Dabigatran and rivaroxaban, new oral anticoagulants. New approaches in Dentistry

Treatment in patients with atrial fibrillation or venous thromboembolism in recent decades has been based almost exclusively on the use of vitamin K antagonists. These drugs have a narrow therapeutic index, so it is precise to repeated adjustments of doses that require analytical monitoring. For many years it has advocated the need to have more convenient new antithrombotic drugs. So is developing a new generation of antithrombotic not related to coumarin. In 2008 and 2009, two of these new anticoagulants have been registered and approved in Europe and Ca- nada-these are dabigatran etexilate (Pradaxa ®) and rivaroxaban (Xarelto ®). Anticoagulant dabigatran is the first direct thrombin inhibitor, orally available. Specifically and reversibly inhibits thrombin, so the duration of action is predictable. The anticoagulant effect correlates well with plasma drug concentrations, which implies an effective anticoagulation with low bleeding risk without major problems of interactions with other drugs. Rivaroxaban is first oral anticoagulant inhibitor of factor Xa (FXa). It produces a predictable and reversible inhibition of FXa activity with ability to inhibit clot-bound FXa. The predictable pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics characteristics of dabigatran and rivaroxaban may facilitate dental management of patients who until now have been in treatment with traditional anticoagulants, given that it doesn’t require routine laboratory monitoring in the vast majority of patients treated.
