New fragment of the inscription CIL II, 3269

La localización, en manos privadas, de un fragmento epigráfico en Linares haaportado nuevos datos sobre la inscripción CIL II, 3269. Un epígrafe triplicado que recuerda la construcción de un edificio público y conmemora la celebración de unos ludis en Castulo a mediados del siglo I d.C. El hallazgo sirve para proponer la reconstrucción de los tres epígrafes, mostrando las diferencias en sus composiciones, y proponer una nueva lectura del texto.The location of a new epigraphic fragment in Linares has shed new light on theinscription CIL II, 3269. This triple inscription recalls the construction of a public building and commemorates the celebration of ludis in Castulo in the mid-first century AD. The finding serves to propose the reconstruction of the three inscriptions, showing the differences in their composition, and to suggest a new reading of the text

Phraseologization as a process of semantic change

Per una part, la fraseologia ha aconseguit definir el significat fraseològic des d’una perspectiva sincrònica. Per l’altra, la lingüística cognitiva diacrònica ha descrit el procés de canvi semàntic i els mecanismes que el provoquen, però centrant-se sobretot en el procés de gramaticalització. L’objectiu del present article és conjugar aquestes dues perspectives a fi de retre compte de l’aparició d’Unitats Fraseològiques, és a dir, el sorgiment del significat fraseològic. La integració d’aquestes perspectives requerirà un marc teòric ben definit. En primer lloc, establirem la definició d’unitat fraseològica i l’abast del significat fraseològic. Després, compararem els processos de gramaticalització i de fraseologització. En aquesta comparació, pararem especial atenció al nou paper que s’ha assignat a la inferència com a mecanisme provocador del canvi semàntic. Comparison between nested grids and unstructured grids for a high-resolution wave forecasting system in the western Mediterranean sea

This is an Accepted Manuscript of an article published by Taylor & Francis Group in Journal of Operational Oceanography on 2017, available online at: http://www.tandfonline.com/10.1080/1755876X.2016.1260389Traditionally wave modelling uses a downscaling process by means of successive nested grids to obtain high-resolution wave fields near the coast. This supposes an uncertain error due to internal boundary conditions and a long computational time. Unstructured grids avoid multiple meshes and thus the problem of internal boundary conditions. In the present study high resolution wave simulations are analysed for a full year where high-resolution meteorological models were available in the Catalan coast. This coastal case presents sharp gradients in bathymetry and orography and therefore correspondingly sharp variations in the wind and wave fields. Simulations with SWAN v.4091A using a traditional nested sequence and a regional unstructured grid have been compared. Also a local unstructured grid nested in an operational forecast system is included in the analysis. The obtained simulations are compared to wave observations from buoys near the coast; almost no differences are found between the unstructured grids and the regular grids. Simultaneously, tests have been carried out in order to analyse the computational time required for each of the alternatives, showing a decrease to less than half the time when working with regional unstructured grids and maintaining the forecast accuracy and coastal resolution with respect to the downscaling system.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Estereotipos de género en universitarios españoles sobre el riesgo psicosocial en la infancia

Recent studies have shown that gender stereotypes are not sensitive to social changes. There is a gap in how gender is treated in college. This study is part of an innovation project to improve teaching quality in university. We aim to analyze the presence of gender stereotypes related to at-risk childhood in a sample of 113 university students. Most students considered that some circumstances, like substance consumption, are more likely in boys. On the contrary, they think that looking after siblings or anxiety are more common in girls. Results show the need to incorporate the gender perspective into universities. The special needs of the at-risk girls require further research and specialized training.Estudios recientes han mostrado que los estereotipos de género no son sensibles a los cambios sociales. Hay un vacío sobre cómo el género es tratado en la educación universitaria. Este estudio se enmarca en un proyecto de innovación para la mejora de la calidad docente en la universidad. Pretendemos analizar la presencia de estereotipos de género relacionados con menores en riesgo en una muestra de 113 universitarios. La mayoría de los estudiantes considera que algunas circunstancias, como el uso de sustancias, son más probables en chicos. Por el contrario, piensan que el tener que cuidar de los hermanos o la ansiedad son más comunes en chicas. Los resultados muestran la necesidad de incorporar la perspectiva de género en las universidades. Las necesidades de las chicas en riesgo requieren más investigación y formación especializada

Effect of agro-climatic conditions on near infrared spectra of extra virgin olive oils

Authentication of extra virgin olive oil requires fast and cost-effective analytical procedures, such as near infrared spectroscopy. Multivariate analysis and chemometrics have been successfully applied in several papers to gather qualitative and quantitative information of extra virgin olive oils from near infrared spectra. Moreover, there are many examples in the literature analysing the effect of agro-climatic conditions on food content, in general, and in olive oil components, in particular. But the majority of these studies considered a factor, a non-numerical variable, containing this meteorological information. The present work uses all the agro-climatic data with the aim of highlighting the linear relationships between them and the near infrared spectra. The study begins with a graphical motivation, continues with a bivariate analysis and, finally, applies redundancy analysis to extend and confirm the previous conclusions.Peer Reviewe

The improvement of the speaking skill with the use of cinema in the classroom and textbook activities es el trabajo final del Máster en Profesorado de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria, Bachillerato, Formación Profesional y Enseñanzas de Idiomas, Artísticas y Deportivas. Es un reflejo de las competencias y contenidos aprendidos a lo largo del Máster con una propuesta para mejorar la destreza de speaking en inglés. Por una parte, se presenta un análisis del cine como un recurso atractivo, variado y dinámico para la enseñanza del idioma. Por otra parte, hay una reflexión sobre las actividades de la sección de speaking en algunos libros de texto y su contribución a desarrollar la competencia comunicativa de los estudiantes (ESO y Bachillerato).Se concluye con propuestas para el futuro con respecto a la enseñanza de la lengua inglesa y a la labor como docente

Helenistic moldmade relief bowls from the Calescoves sanctuary (Minorca)

Un proyecto de investigación recientemente desarrollado en Calescoves (Alaior, Menorca), y en concreto las excavaciones llevadas a cabo en la Cova dels Jurats, han supuesto la documentación de un interesante conjunto de materiales cerámicos, en el que conviven elementos de producción local e importaciones. De estos últimos analizamos aquí un conjunto muy significativo, el perteneciente a los boles helenísticos procedentes de la zona jonia. Vinculados en su zona de origen al consumo de vino, la presencia de estos vasos en el santuario menorquín debe vincularse a los rituales y libaciones que se debieron llevar a cabo en la cueva.The research project recently carried out in Calescoves (Alaior, Menorca), and in particular the excavation in the Cova dels Jurats, has allowed us to study an interesting collection of ceramics, including both local and imported items. We will analyse here the Hellenistic bowls from the Ionian area. Linked in their original area to the consumption of wine, the presence of these vessels in this sanctuary must be linked to the rituals and libations that were due to perform in the cave
