This article introduces a process analysis on the construction of platforms linked to b-learning, through conceptualization and methodological interpretation of a documental data base. This last one makes part of a search about different kinds of theoretical references with emphasis on aspects such as teacher s role, pedagogic perspectives about this approach, tools and technological fundamentals setting theories. The arguments call thinking about these environments and its relation with educative rules that nowadays are translated into new ways of interaction aimed at the social-culture conditions currently observed

HW/SW Co-Simulation System for Enhancing Hardware-in-the-Loop of Power Converter Digital Controllers

    Get PDF
Digital controllers of power converters are more and more implemented in FPGAs due to the increasing complexity of current control algorithms, higher switching frequencies, and concurrence requirements. System behavior depends not only on the control algorithm but also on the implementation issues. Thus, closed-loop controller evaluation at early design stages is a main concern. In this paper, a new hardware-in-the-loop method is proposed. It profits from FPGAs and their design tools in order to validate the closed-loop power converter before prototyping the power stage. The proposed solution presents a general architecture that does not depend on specific vendors or CAD tools, but it uses those utilized for the final implementation of the controller. A case study is presented with a given implementation of the proposed solution. Comparisons with existing alternatives show the advantages of our approach

A Fuzzy Logic Inference Approach for the Estimation of the Passengers Flow Demand

    Get PDF
This paper presents a new approach that designs the flow of passengers in mass transportation systems in presence of uncertainties. One of the techniques used for the prediction of passenger demand is the origin destination matrices. However, this method is limited to urban areas and rarely to explicit stations. Otherwise, the gravity models based on friction functions can be another alternative; however, it is difficult to fit into practical achievements. Another solution might be the application of artificial intelligence techniques so as to include some intuitive knowledge provided by an expert to predict the flow demand of passengers’ trips in explicit stations. This paper proposes to combine a matrix of origin-destination trips of travel zones, with the intuitive knowledge, applying a fuzzy logic inference approach

Modification of Pea Starch and Dextrin Polymers with Isocyanate Functional Groups

    Get PDF
Pea starch and dextrin polymers were modified through the unequal reactivity of isocyanate groups in isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) monomer. The presence of both urethane and isocyanate functionalities in starch and dextrin after modification were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and C-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (C-13 NMR). The degree of substitution (DS) was calculated using elemental analysis data and showed higher DS values in modified dextrin than modified starch. The onsets of thermal degradation and temperatures at maximum mass losses were improved after modification of both starch and dextrin polymers compared to unmodified ones. Glass transition temperatures (T-g) of modified starch and dextrin were lower than unmodified control ones, and this was more pronounced in modified dextrin at a high molar ratio. Dynamic water vapor sorption of starch and dextrin polymers indicated a slight reduction in moisture sorption of modified starch, but considerably lower moisture sorption in modified dextrin as compared to that of unmodified ones.Reza Hosseinpourpia and Stergios Adamopoulos thank VINNOVA, Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNMER Marie Curie Incoming project, grant No. 2015-04825).

Case Report: Granular Cell Tumor In Breast

    Get PDF
Granular cell tumor (GCT) of the breast is an unusual neoplasm, tipicallybenign, it represents between 5-6% of all GCT cases. These tumors aremore common in middle-aged premenopausal women with a greater predilection African American race [1]. Nevertheless, there are also cases described in men [2-4]. Almost all of them are favorable, the malignant casesare uncommon (only 1-3%). Sometimes it could be clinically and radiologically confused with a malignant breast tumor; so it's very importantto make a differential diagnosis. The choice therapy is an extensive localextirpation with free margins [5], without the need for adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Our case is a 61-year-old woman with a GCT, andthree years ago a history of breast carcinoma in the same breast
