In the review I discuss Paweł Mackiewicz’s book paying special attention to his methodological choices and their consequences. I argue that traditional philological methods are insufficient to present the innovative and experimental character of Sendecki’s poetry. Mackiewicz is rightly sceptical toward deconstructive interpretations but he does not transform ideas proposed by “deconstructive reviewers” and returns to interpretation rooted in representationalism. I argue that it is necessary to elaborate on such an interpretative method that would not petrify the poem and – at the same time – would capture something beside conclusions concerning the crisis of representation. I underline the value of relational reading where the level of representation equals the level of material dimension of the poem, thus subordinating interpretation to the regime of immanence. In this case, the “meaning” of a poem ceases to be more important than its “existence”, and both modes become dynamic as they reveal inevitable involvement of literature in social relations

Polish poetry of the 1990s was shaped primarily by the works of Andrzej Sosnowski, an author who introduced the New York tradition into our language. The poet Adam Zdrodowski, who debuted in 2005, is often referred to as Sosnowski’s most capable student and it is for this reason that literary criticism fails to accord Sosnowski’s poetry the attention it deserves. In this paper I strive to demonstrate that Zdrodowski is first and foremost a student of John Ashbery; it should be noted that the author of Przygody, etc. reads the New York poetry in a very different way to Sosnowski

Umknąć pochwyceniu. Co schizoanaliza oferuje teorii migracji?

The article applies the schizoanalytic approach to migration theory and focuses on the tension between the constantly growing flow of a mobile workforce and the power of the contemporary “liquid” capital. By juxtaposing the theses posed by critical migration scholars (Sassen, Mezzadra, Neilson, Tsianos, Papadopoulos, Trimikliniotis) with three concepts from Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari (the apparatus of capture; becoming; the nomadic war machine), the article elaborates on new modes of subversion. It claims they could be useful to labour and migration movements nowadays. Trzy dystynkcje : o twórczości Adama Kaczanowskiego i problemach z jej recepcją

The article discusses three elements characteristic of the works of the poet, prose writer and performer Adam Kaczanowski, which resulted in the poor visibility of his achievements in the critical literary discourse after 2000. The first issue concerns the convention of “onirism, which stands firmly on earth” (or “wide realism”), which did not allow Kaczanowski to enter into the binary system “experience versus language” visible in the most important critical literary approaches of the last dozen or so years. The second issue is Kaczanowski’s critique of late capitalism ideology – the hero of this article touched upon this problem at a time when the economic situation favored primarily post-transformation, liberal and libertarian narrations. The third thread is related to the strategy of contesting the status quo: whereas from the late 1990s in the poetry and accompanying discourses the most popular category was irony, Kaczanowski used humor as a tool of subversion (both irony and humor are defined after Gilles Deleuze)

Introduction Anemia and iron deficiency are common comorbidities in population with heart failure. Their association with unfavorable prognostic outcomes and diminished quality of life underscores the imperative need for accurate diagnosis and efficacious treatment interventions. In recent years numerous treatment options have been explored in clinical trials, aimed at addressing the multifaced aspects of these concurrent conditions. Summary In patients with heart failure effective treatment of anemia and iron deficiency has demonstrated enhancements in quality of life and exercise capacity. Findings from IRONMAN clinical study have prompted revisions in the latest guidelines from the European Society of Cardiology. The imminent release of results from two ongoing trials holds the potential to reshape the therapeutic landscape for treating individuals with heart failure and iron deficiency. Nevertheless, there is no explicit evidence that studied interventions could improve morbidity or risk of hospitalizations

Microvascular angina – an abstruse path to diagnose and to treat – a review of literature

Introduction: Chronic coronary syndrome is predominantly related to the atherosclerotic obstruction of the coronary artery or arteries. However, this phenomenon is not the only causative factor in this disease. It is usually forgotten, that there is a possibility of ischemia of the cardiac muscle with no obstruction found in the main vessel. The trigger of such pathology might be underlying in the microcirculatory system and the inappropriate dilation or constriction of those small vessels, which results in insufficient blood supply to the cardiomyocytes, similarly to the typical obstructive coronary artery disease. In this article we are willing to show that such dysfunction poses a great danger to the health and life and therefore we should be able to properly diagnose and treat it. Purpose of the work: The aim of this review of up-to-date literature is to raise awareness among both doctors and patients about the phenomenon of coronary artery disease but with no significant obstruction in the vessels supplying the cardiac muscle. The common cause of such condition is coronary microvascular dysfunction, that leads to a disease called microvascular angina. Our purpose was to reveal, how dangerous to the health of the patients this could be and therefore how essential it is to provide a proper diagnose and management. In addition, we have noticed a need for a summary of what has already been discovered on this topic, available therapeutic methods and future perspectives

Introduction: A rapid outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 in the past few years caused a significant increase in the number of upper respiratory tract infections throughout the world. Numerous public health institutions tried to control the COVID-19 pandemic, including mandatory mask wearing, vaccinations, increased frequency of using disinfectants or compulsory lockdowns.
