VERYFICATION OF LOCATION PROBLEM IN ECONOMIC RESEARCH

    Get PDF
In economic research very often the location problem in the single sample or estimation  of the difference in two samples location is commonly tested by experimental economists. Usually the used tests are Wilcoxon test for single sample location or Wilcoxon – Mann – Whitney for two samples location problem. Unfortunately those tests have some disadvantages such as robustness against assumptions or week efficiency. In the paper, some less known procedures, which allow avoid those problems, will be presented. Considered methods will be illustrated on the example of the data  analysis from real-estate market

Deflacja a działalność inwestycyjna banków.

On a decomposition of the Witt group into direct sum of cyclic groups

In the paper it is shown that the Witt group of the rational function field in countably many variables over a real-closed field can be decomposed into direct sum of cyclic groups. This is an example that the sufficient conditions given in [3] are not necessary

Dynamics of stress propagation in anharmonic crystals: MD simulations

Anharmonic inter-atomic potential x^n to power of n, n > 1, has been used in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of stress dynamics of FCC oriented crystal. The model of chain of masses and springs is found as a convenient and accurate description of simulation results, with masses representing the crystallographic planes. The period of oscillations of two planes is found analytically to be given by Euler beta functions, and its scaling with non-linearity parameter and amplitude of oscillations, or applied shear pressure is discussed on examples of time dependencies of displacement, velocities, and forces acting on masses (planes). The relationship between physical quantities (displacement, velocities, pressure) is explained. The dynamics of stress penetration from the sample surface towards its interior is confirmed to be given exactly by a series of Bessel functions when n=2 (in harmonic case). When n 2 the stress dynamics (wave propagation) in bulk material remains qualitatively of the same nature as in the linear case. In particular, results suggest that the quasi-linear relationship between frequency and wave number is preserved. Speed of the transverse sound component, dependent on sound wave amplitude, is found to be a strongly decreasing function of n. The results are useful in the analysis of any MD simulations under pressure, as they help to understand the dynamics of pressure retarded effects, as well help design the proper methodology of performing MD simulations, such as studies of dynamics of dislocations.Comment: 23 pages, 15 figures, 1 movie (hard linked in the article, available also in source

The Use of Combined Multicriteria Method for the Valuation of Real Estate

    Get PDF
A considered problem is a valuation of real estate. It is important to specify their exact market value, which is the result of several factors. Valuation of property is made on the basis of information and transactions on the local market. Moreover, the valuation always is based on the data of the similar properties. A comprehensive set of data is needed for these reasons. It is quite confusing because the number of transactions on the local market often is not sufficient. The purpose of this paper is to present a method for multicriteria valuation of real estate. This procedure is based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Goal Programming (GP). It was designed especially for valuation in situation in which information are limited. The proposed method was used for the valuation of the real estate located on [email protected] of Economic Sciences, Warsaw University of Life Sciences5(71)20821
