    Global dynamics and stability limits for planetary systems around HD 12661, HD 38529, HD 37124 and HD 160691

    In order to distinguish between regular and chaotic planetary orbits we apply a new technique called MEGNO in a wide neighbourhood of orbital parameters determined using standard two-body Keplerian fits for HD 12661, HD 38529, HD 37124 and HD 160691 planetary systems. We show that the currently announced orbital parameters place these systems in very different situations from the point of view of dynamical stability. While HD 38529 and HD 37124 are located within large stability zones in the phase space around their determined orbits, the preliminary orbits in HD 160691 are highly unstable. The orbital parameters of the HD 12661 planets are located in a border region between stable and unstable dynamical regimes, so while its currently determined orbital parameters produce stable regular orbits, a minor change within the margin of error of just one parameter may result in a chaotic dynamical system.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures, accepted ApJ, revised version following the referee's repor

    The digital transformation of all socio-economic spheres of the country determines the inclusion of digital factors in the assessment of investment potential. The aim of this paper is to justify the need to include digital factors in assessing the investment potential and the assessment of the digital potential of St. Petersburg. The study includes statistical methods of correlation analysis, average values, comparison, and grouping. This paper defines the concept of digital potential; highlights indicators of digital technology development; presents a methodology and assessment of the digital capacity of St. Petersburg compared with other cities of federal status through 2016–2018. The author features three key components of digital potential: information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, digital government, and e-business. The study shows that St. Petersburg’s digital potential is sustainably growing. The research reveals that the digital capacity of St. Petersburg is improving by boosting the “e-business” component which reflects the use of ERP and CRM systems by organizations, as well as by the e-commerce. The low level of the “digital government” component has a negative effect on the integral level of digital potential despite the ongoing digitization process in the public sector services. The conclusions of the study suggest that the use of digital channels to interact with public authorities, the digitization of businesses, as well as the implementation of electronic workflow processes will improve the digital potential of St. Petersburg. Taking digital factors into account as a part of the investment potential of a city will make it possible to accurately assess its investment attractiveness. The findings of the study may be useful to scientists, rating agencies, and government officials when making investment decisions. The prospects for future research on this topic consist of expanding its base, clarifying the components of the digital potential factors, and methods for assessing the investment attractiveness of a territorial entity.Цифровая трансформация всех сфер социально-экономического развития страны обусловливает актуальность включения цифровых факторов в оценку инвестиционного потенциала. Цель статьи — обоснование необходимости включения цифровых факторов в оценку инвестиционного потенциала и оценка цифрового потенциала города Санкт-Петербурга. Автор использует методы сравнения и группировки, обобщения и синтеза, индексный и корреляционный анализ. Определено понятие цифрового потенциала; предложены показатели, характеризующие развитие цифровых технологий; разработана методика и проведена оценка цифрового потенциала города Санкт-Петербурга в сравнении с другими городами федерального значения за период 2016–2018 гг. Выделены три ключевые компоненты  цифрового  потенциала:  информационно-коммуникационная  инфраструктура,  цифровое  правительство и электронный бизнес. Показано, что цифровой потенциал города Санкт-Петербурга имеет тенденцию к умеренному росту. Реализации цифрового потенциала Санкт-Петербурга способствует высокий уровень компоненты «электронный бизнес», который отражает использование организациями ERP и CRM-систем, а также продажи через сеть Интернет. Низкий уровень компоненты «цифровое правительство» отрицательно влияет на интегральный уровень цифрового потенциала, несмотря на продолжающиеся процессы цифровизации при оказании  государственных услуг населению. Сделан вывод, что повышению цифрового потенциала Санкт-Петербурга будет способствовать использование цифровых каналов для осуществления взаимодействия с органами власти, интеграция информационных систем внутри организаций, а также активное использование электронного документооборота. Учет цифровых факторов в составе инвестиционного потенциала города позволит более точно оценить его инвестиционную привлекательность. Результаты исследования могут быть полезны ученым, рейтинговым агентствам и государственным служащим для принятия инвестиционных решений. Перспективы дальнейшего исследования данной тематики — в расширении ее базы, уточнении состава частных факторов цифрового потенциала и методики оценки инвестиционной привлекательности территориального образования

    Dynamics and configurations of galaxy triplets

    The purpose is to infer the probable dynamical states of galaxy triplets by the observed data on their configurations. Two methods are proposed for describing the distributions of the triplet configuration parameters characterizing a tendency to alignment and hierarchy: (1) obtaining a representative sample of configurations and determining its statistical parameters (moments and percentages); and (2) dividing the region of possible configurations of triple systems (Agekian and Anosova, 1967) into a set of segments and finding the probabilities for the configurations to find themselves in each of them. Both these methods allow representation of the data by numerical simulations as well as observations. The effect of projection was studied. It rather overestimates the alignment and hierarchy of the triple systems. Among the parameters of interest there are found some parameters that are least sensitive to projection effects. The samples consist of simulated galaxy triplets (with hidden mass) as well as of 46 probably physical triple galaxies (Karachentseva et al., 1979). The observed triples as well as numerical models show a tendency to alignment. The triple galaxies do not show any tendency to hierarchy (formation of the temporary binaries), but this tendency may be present for simulated triplets without significant dark matter. The significant hidden mass (of order ten times the total mass of a triplet) decreases the probability of forming a binary and so weakens the hierarchy. Small galaxy groups consisting of 3 to 7 members are probably the most prevalent types of galaxy aggregate (Gorbatsky, 1987). Galaxy triplets are the simplest groups, but dynamically nontrivial ones

    Abstract. The development of non-standard thinking helps in solving creative problems. People who think formally can not come up with anything new, thereby destroying creativity. The creative task is an excellent way of revealing the personal abilities of each person. The development of creative thinking allows people to realize their creative potential, their individuality. Heuristic methods in solving problems allow us to express creative thoughts and to activate the creative possibilities of man. Creative thinking is very closely related to the imagination, which is important in any profession. Features of creative thinking consist in the fact that it contributes to the non-standard solution of certain tasks. An unconventional thinking person is able to offer bright ideas in any field of activity, that is, creative activity generates something new, different in originality, originality, and uniqueness. The system of heuristic methods of solving problems is based on logic, sound mind and experience, and the result of all this is new significant information. When solving creative problems, various heuristic methods are used. This is a method of brainstorming, a method of heuristic questions, a method of multidimensional matrices, a method of free association, a method ofinversion, a method of empathy, a method of synectics. The work reveals the essence of each heuristic method, as well as the merits and demerits of each of them.     Leaf Mesophyll Structure and Photosynthetic Activity in Calla palustris L. from Natural Habitats with Different Level of Technogenic Pollution

    A study of leaf structure and CO2 assimilation rate was conducted on the emergent plant Calla palustris L. from natural habitats with different levels of technogenic pollution (the Sak-Elga River, upstream and downstream of the Karabash copper smelter, Chelyabinsk region, Russia). It was found that both chlorophyll a content andthe rate of CO2 assimilation decreased twofold in plants from the downstream site. No significant changes were observed in leaf mesophyll structure and the volume of aerenchyma in the leaf. It was shown that in plants from strongly contaminated site, the decrease in spongy mesophyll cell volume was compensated by the increase in their number, whereas the decrease in the number of chloroplasts per cell was accompanied by a growth in volume. It is concluded that the changes in the numerical and dimensional characteristics of mesophyll cells and chloroplasts provide for the viability of C. palustris under prolonged technogenic impact and demonstrate the plasticity of the photosynthetic apparatus.
