    Role of Feeling of Loneliness and Emotion Regulation Difficulty on Drug Abuse

    Background: The Risk behaviors such as drug abuse are prevalent anxiously in youth. Thus investigation and recognition risk behaviors are important.  The aim of the study was to investigate on relationship between loneliness and the difficulties in emotion regulation with drug abuse.Methods: This research was descriptive correlation. The sample was comprised of students of University of Sistan and Baluchestan, southeastern of Iran. Participants were selected by cluster sampling. The instruments were the loneliness scale, the difficult in emotion regulation scale and the drug abuse. For statistical analysis, Pearson correlation and regression analysis methods were used.Results: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between loneliness and the difficulties in emotion regulation with drug abuse. The Enter regression analysis for prediction of the drug abuse showed that the loneliness predicted 0.09 and the difficulties in emotion regulation predicted 0.08 of the drug abuse variances.Conclusion: Regard to the results, it is recommended to university and cultural instructional planners to pay attention to variables of loneliness and emotional self-regulation as drug abuse risk factors and introduce especial and preventer programs in this subject

    An efficient approach for solving nonlinear troesch's and bratu's problems by wavelet analysis method

    We introduce Chebyshev wavelet analysis method to solve the nonlinear Troesch and Bratu problems. Chebyshev wavelets expansions together with operational matrix of derivative are employed to reduce the computation of nonlinear problems to a system of algebraic equations. Several examples are given to validate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed technique. We compare the results with those ones reported in the literature in order to demonstrate that the method converges rapidly and approximates the exact solution very accurately by using only a small number of Chebyshev wavelet basis functions.     Gene Diversity of Trichomonas vaginalis Isolates

    Background: Trichomonas vaginalis is protozoan parasite responsible for trichomoniasis and is more common in high-risk behavior group such as prostitute individuals. Interest in trichomoni­asis is due to increase one's susceptibility to viruses such as herpes, human papillomavirus and HIV. The aim of this study was to find genotypic differences between the isolates.Methods: Forty isolates from prisoners' women in Tehran province were used in this study. The random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique was used to determine genetic differ­ences among isolates and was correlated with patient's records. By each primer the banding pat­tern size of each isolates was scored (bp), genetic differences were studied, and the genealogical tree was constructed by using NTSYS software program and UPGMA method.Results: The least number of bands were seen by using primer OPD8 and the most by using OPD3. Results showed no significant difference in isolates from different geographical areas in Iran. By using primer OPD1 specific amplified fragment with length 1300 base pair were found in only 8 isolates. All these isolates were belonged to addicted women; however, six belonged to asymptomatic patients and two to symptomatic ones.Conclusion: There was not much genetic diversity in T vaginalis isolates from three different geo­graphical areas

    Enhancement of flexibility in multi-energy microgrids considering voltage and congestion improvement: Robust thermal comfort against reserve calls

    In recent years, multi-energy microgrid (MEM) has gained increasing interest, which could use clean and efficient electro-thermal resources, multi-energy storages (MESs) and demand response potential to improve the flexibility of MEM. However, maximizing the flexibility potential of MEM and alongside managing the electrical parameters (EPs) is a challenging modeling problem. In this paper, a probabilistic nonlinear model is presented to maximize the flexibility with all the power grid constraints taking into account EPs constraints using power flow. To this end, voltage profile and congestion improvement, robust thermal comfort provision during reserve call and MESs utilization are the key properties of the proposed model. The outcome of suggested model ensures sustainability in the MEM performance, which is an essential feature in modern smart cities. The presented model is applied to a distribution network in the UK and results illustrate how equipment scheduling and demand response leads to observe the EPs limitation and maximizes MEM flexibility. The achieved results show a decrease in MEM revenue (decrease of 34% and 24% without and with reserve commitment, respectively) and in contrast, a significant increase in flexibility compared to non-compliance with EPs constraints

    Study of the relationship between Educational- Research Environment and Research Interest in students

    Introduction: Research means trying to obtain realities and in this regards, educational research environment refers to facilities and educational factors to create scientific- research motivation in person. Research in medical science universities is important because it is used to identifying and resolving educational, research, health problems and eliminating health- related problems. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the relationship between educational- research environment and research interest in graduated students of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This cross- sectional descriptive- analytic study carried out on 101 graduate students through census sampling. Demographic data, students' perceptions of the educational- research environment and interest in the research were collected by a three- part questionnaire including 49 questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation), and analytical statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient, independent t- test, Tukey test and ANOVA) through SPSS. Results: results show that there is a significant positive correlation between educational- research environment and interest to the research (r= 0.40, p≤0.03). There is also a significant negative correlation between age and interest in the research (P≤0.001, r =-0.38). A significant difference was found between the educational environment and the college of education (P= 0.006). Conclusion: There was a positive and significant correlation between educational- research environment and research interest in Masters' students of Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences. So deputies of education as well as research and technology should considered the result of this research and by doing proper intervention try to promote the level of educational- research services of students

    Municipal solid waste management during COVID-19 pandemic: a comparison between the current activities and guidelines

    The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone�s lifestyle and this has resulted in a change in the quantity and composition of municipal solid wastes. Moreover, the post-pandemic waste management is very important as a bad management may lead to the more spread of the disease. The objective of this study was to evaluate the application of guidelines presented for the era of the COVID-19 pandemic in proper solid waste management. To this end, the data were collected by using interviews and field researches and then the obtained data were compared with the international guidelines presented by international organizations. By investigating the municipal waste management during this pandemic and its changes compared to pre-COVID-19, coordination of the plans with the guidelines was investigated. The activities of storage, collection, transportation, recycling, final landfill, as well as the observation of the health instructions by staff and informal sections were assessed in the current research. Although the results showed that the situation was satisfactory in the sections like health and safety of waste management operators due to the existence of protocols and general educations, the waste management plans have not been changed much from before the epidemic of the Coronavirus. The absence of a national policy and plan for waste management in the era of a pandemic and ignoring the guidelines developed by other countries and organizations were observable. Therefore, the codification of new policies for municipal waste management during an epidemic is necessary. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG

    Treatment Failure in Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Patients Referred to the School of Public Health, Tehran University of Medical Sciences During 2008-2017

    Background: Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a vector borne disease predominantly found in tropical and subtropical countries, including Iran. For more than 6 decades, pentavalent antimonials have been used successfully worldwide for the treatment of leishmaniasis, but over the past few years, clinical resistance to these medications has increased. In this study, we evaluated CL patients who did not show any desirable responses to the anti-leishmanial treatment within a 10-year period (2008 to 2017). Methods: All patients from different parts of Iran suspected of having cutaneous leishmaniasis, who were referred to the laboratory of leishmaniosis in Tehran University of Medical Sciences from 2008-2017 were parasitological examined. Results: During this period, a total of 1480 suspected CL patients were referred to the laboratory of leishmaniosis. Samples from 655 patients (70.8) suspected of having CL were positive microscopically. The failure rate in patients treated with anti-leishmaniasis medications for a minimum of three complete treatment periods was 1.83 (12 cases). There was no association between the number and size of skin lesions and patient characteristics. Also, the route of drug administration had no significant effect on the number and size of lesions. Conclusion: In the present study, treatment failure was found in some confirmed CL patients treated with meglumine antimoniate. Over the past few years, it seems that had been increased in resistance to these medications. So, a review of the correct implementation of the treatment protocol and/or a combination therapy may be helpful in preventing an increase in the rate of treatment failure
