Lithium-ion battery’s life cycle : safety risks and risk management at workplaces

This summary is the final report of the research project “Lithium-ion battery’s life cycle: safety risks and risk management at workplaces”, funded by Finnish Work Environment Fund, the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, OSALAN and Mitsubishi Logisnext Europe. The project has been part of SAF€RA program. The research was coordinated by Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (Finland) and the research partner was GAIKER (Spain). The report summarizes the occupational safety of the LIB value chain and presents good practices and aspects that need to be taken into account in the management of the safety risks related to LIBs, together with assessment of gaseous emissions and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) which was used for evaluating the environmental impacts throughout the value chain of the LIB selected for the case study

The annual excursion of the Nordic Bryological Society (NBS) and the Finnish Bryophyte Expert Group to Finnish Lapland in 2019

The Nordic Bryological Society held its Annual meeting and excursion from 5 to 9 August 2019 in Sodankylä, Kittilä and Kolari in northern Finland. The excursion was attended by twenty-one participants. Special emphasis was given to boreal aapa mires and their Sphagnum species. A multitude of Sphagnum species typical to the area was encountered. Also, Red Listed species of meso- and eutrophic flark fens were discovered, e.g. Hamatocaulis vernicosus, H. lapponicus, Meesia longiseta, Schistochilopsis grandiretis and Moerckia flotoviana. Sphagnum annulatum, S. flexuosum, S. divinum, Heterogemma laxa and Scapania umbrosa were collected for the first time from Kittilän Lappi biogeographical province. Sphagnum annulatum, S. divinum, Campylium laxifolium, Pohlia sphagnicola, Gymnocolea borealis and Heterogemma laxa were collected for the first time from Sompion Lappi biogeographical province. In total, 54 records of Red Listed species were made.</p

Nälkä kuuluu kaikille : Tampereen Harjun seurakunnan diakoniatyön työttömien ruokailu

Kangas, Pia. Nälkä kuuluu kaikille, Tampereen Harjun seurakunnan diakoniatyön työttömien ruokailu. Diak Itä, Pieksämäki, kevät 2011, s.26. Diakonia ammattikorkeakoulu, Sosiaalialan koulutusohjelma, Diakonisen sosiaalityön suuntautumisvaihtoehto, sosionomi(AMK) + diakoni. Opinnäytetyöni tavoitteena oli selvittää, mitä Tampereen Harjun seurakunnan diakoniatyön työttömien ruokailu on ja sen historiatausta. Samalla kartoitettiin ruokailun työntekijätarvetta, työnjakoa ja sen mahdollista kehittämistä. Aineisto työhön löytyi pääasiassa haastatteluiden avulla, muistioista, pöytäkirjoista sekä alan kirjallisuudesta ja internetistä. Työskentelin Tampereen Harjun seurakunnan diakoniavustajana 1.10.2009-31.5.2011, jonka aikana toteutin hankkeen yhteistyössä seurakunnan kanssa. Tarkoituksena oli osana omaa työtä tarkastella ko. hanketta ja toteuttaa sitä. Päätuloksena ja johtopäätöksinä hankkeesta nousi muutamia seikkoja. Ruokailun järjestämiseen ja työntekijöiden työnjaon uudelleen organisoimiseen tulee kiinnittää erityistä huomiota, jotta pystytään varmistamaan ruokailun järjestäminen. Samalla on syytä kiinnittää huomiota työntekijöiden omaan sekä fyysiseen että henkiseen jaksamiseen. Vapaaehtoisten määrän lisääminen on välttämätöntä sekä heidän työtehtäviensä muuttaminen. Hankkeen aikana perustettiin ruokailutiimi kehittämään ja hoitamaan ruokailua ja sen käytännön asioita. Sen on yhdessä Harjun diakoniatiimin ja seurakunnan kanssa aiheellista jatkaa ruokailutoiminnan kehittämistyötä. Näin pystytään turvaamaan diakoniatyön asiakkaille heidän tarvitsemansa ruokapalvelu.Kangas, Pia.Hunger is for everyone, Tampere Harju parish’es diaconal work dining of the unemployed. The goal of this study was to determine what the Tampere Harju Church diaconal dining of the unemployed is and it's history background. At the same time were identified the need for food workers, the division of labor and its possible development. The material fot the work was found mainly through interviews, memoranda, minutes, and the literature and the Internet. I worked as the Tampere Harju church deacon assistant from October 1, 2009 to May 31, 2011, during time the project was carried out in collaboration with the parish. The aim was as part of my own work to observe the project in question and carry it out. As the main outcome and conclusions a few points of the project rose . Special attention should be given to meals for workers and to organizing and re-organizinf the division of labor in order to ensure the catering operation. At the same time it is necessary to draw attention to their employees’ both physical and mental endurance. Increasing the number of volunteers it is essential, as well as changing their work duties. During the project, catering team was set up to develop and manage a dining and its practical aspects. It should together with Harju Deaconess team and the Assembly continue with the catering services development. Thus it can be ensured that diaconiawork customers get the food services they need.
