Electroproduction of nucleon resonances
The unitary isobar model MAID has been extended and used for a partial wave
analysis of pion photo- and electroproduction in the resonance region W < 2
GeV. Older data from the world data base and more recent experimental results
from Mainz, Bates, Bonn and JLab for Q^2 up to 4.0 (GeV/c)^2 have been analyzed
and the Q^2 dependence of the helicity amplitudes have been extracted for a
series of four star resonances. We compare single-Q^2 analyses with a
superglobal fit in a new parametrization of Maid2003 together with predictions
of the hypercentral constituent quark model. As a result we find that the
helicity amplitudes and transition form factors of constituent quark models
should be compared with the analysis of bare resonances, where the pion cloud

A study of the biohydrometallurgical method for extracting gold from flotation tailings
This paper shows the results of the comparative study of efficiency of gold extraction methods from technogenic flotation tails by agitation cyanidation and biooxidation followed by leaching. A representative sample of flotation tails was taken at gold extraction plant of Altyntau Kokshetau LLP. Experimentally, an increase in the efficiency of leaching gold from flotation tails during preliminary bacterial oxidation was found. By biochemical leaching, 72 % was extracted, which is 7 % more than using expensive sodium peroxide and 10 % more than using the traditional method of cyanidation
Elastic Pion Scattering on the Deuteron in a Multiple Scattering Model
Pion elastic scattering on deuterium is studied in the KMT multiple
scattering approach developed in momentum space. Using a Paris wave function
and the same methods and approximations as commonly used in pion scattering on
heavier nuclei excellent agreement with differential cross section data is
obtained for a wide range of pion energies. Only for MeV and very
backward angles, discrepancies appear that are reminiscent of disagreements in
pion scattering on He, H, and He. At low energies the second order
corrections have been included. Polarization observables are studied in detail.
While tensor analyzing powers are well reproduced, vector analyzing powers

Three-Body approach to the K^- d Scattering Length in Particle Basis
We report on the first calculation of the scattering length A_{K^-d} based on
a relativistic three-body approach where the two-body input amplitudes coupled
to the Kbar N channels have been obtained with the chiral SU(3) constraint, but
with isospin symmetry breaking effects taken into account. Results are compared
with a recent calculation applying a similar set of two-body amplitudes,based
on the fixed center approximation, considered as a good approximation for a
loosely bound target, and for which we find significant deviations from the
exact three-body results. Effects of the hyperon-nucleon interaction, and
deuteron -wave component are also evaluated.Comment: 5 pages, Submitted to Phys. Rev.
The physical meaning of scattering matrix singularities in coupled-channel formalisms
The physical meaning of bare and dressed scattering matrix singularities has
been investigated. Special attention has been attributed to the role of well
known invariance of scattering matrix with respect to the field transformation
of the effective Lagrangian. Examples of evaluating bare and dressed quantities

Lowest Q^2 Measurement of the gamma*p -> Delta Reaction: Probing the Pionic Contribution
To determine nonspherical angular momentum amplitudes in hadrons at long
ranges (low Q^2), data were taken for the p(\vec{e},e'p)\pi^0 reaction in the
Delta region at Q^2=0.060 (GeV/c)^2 utilizing the magnetic spectrometers of the
A1 Collaboration at MAMI. The results for the dominant transition magnetic
dipole amplitude and the quadrupole to dipole ratios at W=1232 MeV are:
M_{1+}^{3/2} = (40.33 +/- 0.63_{stat+syst} +/- 0.61_{model})
(10^{-3}/m_{\pi^+}),Re(E_{1+}^{3/2}/M_{1+}^{3/2}) = (-2.28 +/- 0.29_{stat+syst}
+/- 0.20_{model})%, and Re(S_{1+}^{3/2}/M_{1+}^{3/2}) = (-4.81 +/-
0.27_{stat+syst} +/- 0.26_{model})%. These disagree with predictions of
constituent quark models but are in reasonable agreement with lattice
calculations with non-linear (chiral) pion mass extrapolations, with chiral
effective field theory, and with dynamical models with pion cloud effects.
These results confirm the dominance, and general Q^2 variation, of the pionic

Tunable isolated attosecond X-ray pulses with gigawatt peak power from a free-electron laser
Considerations on rescattering effects for threshold photo- and electro-production of on deuteron
We show that for the S-state -production in processes and the rescattering effects due to the
transition: (or are cancelled
out due to the Pauli principle. The large values for these effects predicted in
the past may result from the fact that the spin structure of the corresponding
matrix element and the necessary antisymmetrization induced by the presence of
identical protons (or neutrons) in the intermediate state was not taken into
account accurately. One of the important consequences of these considerations
is that photo- and electro-production on deuteron near threshold can
bring direct information about elementary neutron amplitudes.Comment: Add a new sectio
Coastal Dynamics of the Pechora and Kara Seas Under Changing Climatic Conditions and Human Disturbances
Coastal dynamics monitoring on the key areas of oil and gas development at
the Barents and Kara Seas has been carried out by Laboratory of Geoecology of the North at
the Faculty of Geography (Lomonosov Moscow State University) together with Zubov State
Oceanographic Institute (Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental
Monitoring) for more than 30 years. During this period, an up-to-date monitoring technology,
which includes direct field observations, remote sensing and numerical methods, has been
developed. The results of such investigations are analyzed on the example of the Ural coast of
Baydaratskaya Bay, Kara Sea. The dynamics of thermal-abrasion coasts are directly linked with
climate and sea ice extent change. A description of how the wind-wave energy flux and the
duration of the ice-free period affect the coastal line retreat is provided, along with a method
of the wind-wave energy assessment and its results for the Kara Sea region. We have also evaluated the influence of local anthropogenic impacts on the dynamics of the Arctic coasts.
As a result, methods of investigations necessary for obtaining the parameters required for the
forecast of the retreat of thermoabrasional coasts have been developed
Non-invasive topical drug delivery to spinal cord with carboxyl-modified trifunctional copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide
© 2015 Elsevier B.V. In this study the effect of oxidative modification on micellar and drug delivery properties of copolymers of ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO) was investigated. Carboxylated trifunctional copolymers were synthesized in the reaction with chromium(VI) oxide. We found that carboxylation significantly improved the uniformity and stability of polymeric micelles by inhibiting the microphase transition. The cytotoxicity of copolymers was studied in relation to their aggregative state on two cell types (cancer line vs. primary fibroblasts). The accumulation of rhodamine 123 in neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells was dramatically increased in the presence of the oxidized block copolymer with the number of PO and EO units of 83.5 and 24.2, respectively. The copolymer was also tested as an enhancer for topical drug delivery to the spinal cord when applied subdurally. The oxidized copolymer facilitated the penetration of rhodamine 123 across spinal cord tissues and increased its intraspinal accumulation. These results show the potential of using oxidized EO/PO based polymers for non-invasive delivery of protective drugs after spinal cord injury
