Vocational Interest Regarding Career Awareness Among Adolescent Boys and Girls of Rohtak City: Haryana (India)
All young are deeply concerned about their future vocational roles. Vocation is valued by most adolescents, for its contributions to self-esteem, financial independence, and social maturity. The present study is done to find out the gender difference in the vocational interest of high school adolescents. The sample for the investigation consisted of 300 adolescents (150 boys & 150 girls) studying in 10th class. The sample was taken from six schools of Rohtak city. The standardized tool was used to measure the variable Vocational Interest Record (VIR). For analysis of data, mean, standard deviation, and t-test were computed. The results of the study revealed that the gender difference in vocational interest was seen. Results indicated that t scores on artistic, agricultural, social and household dimensions of vocational interest were significant. Significant different exists between boys and girls on above vocational areas. Girls were high on artistic, social and household jobs as compared to boys whereas boys were high on agricultural jobs

This paper mainly deals with the problems that online retailers are facing by some group of strategic customers by upgrading web system and goods pricing. A monopolist price of a product for which stylized dynamic pricing model is considered at the beginning and the price change is done on the product after considering some set of constraints based on the product availability. Due to some network issues sometimes website may get problems at that time there may be a chance of transaction failure for customer during online purchasing. To predict this probability and doing purchasing opinion depending on the belief of Transaction Success Probability (TSP).Considering this there will be a threshold policy for purchasing by customers here it is going to consider it as first one: Customers buy products only if his valuation for products is above threshold (total reduced profit) otherwise they will not take it into consideration. The threshold rises as TSP degrades, or customers turn out to be risk averse. Here we obtain the best cost of each phase and make out the best strategy for online shopping site customizing by threshold and upgrade the system when present TSP is less than threshold. The online trader turns to increase the price if he disregards strategic customer behavior. The value of disregarding strategic customer deeds is significant. The profit loss cost of disregarding strategic customer deeds grows as customer transaction cost rises
Dry and wet spells at Itabaina (NE Brazil)
Results of a study of dry and wet spells at Itabaina, a semi-arid station in northeast Brazil, are presented in this paper. Frequency distributions of dry spells of different durations at the station are compared with those derived from three statistical models. It is found that the Eggenberger-Polya and the geometric model provide better results than the logarithmic model. Frequency distribution of wet spells during the three rainiest months of the year shows that rainfall persistency reaches a maximum value on the fifth day of a rainy spell
Identification of a WNT5A-Responsive Degradation Domain in the Kinesin Superfamily Protein KIF26B.
Noncanonical WNT pathways function independently of the β-catenin transcriptional co-activator to regulate diverse morphogenetic and pathogenic processes. Recent studies showed that noncanonical WNTs, such as WNT5A, can signal the degradation of several downstream effectors, thereby modulating these effectors' cellular activities. The protein domain(s) that mediates the WNT5A-dependent degradation response, however, has not been identified. By coupling protein mutagenesis experiments with a flow cytometry-based degradation reporter assay, we have defined a protein domain in the kinesin superfamily protein KIF26B that is essential for WNT5A-dependent degradation. We found that a human disease-causing KIF26B mutation located at a conserved amino acid within this domain compromises the ability of WNT5A to induce KIF26B degradation. Using pharmacological perturbation, we further uncovered a role of glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) in WNT5A regulation of KIF26B degradation. Lastly, based on the identification of the WNT5A-responsive domain, we developed a new reporter system that allows for efficient profiling of WNT5A-KIF26B signaling activity in both somatic and stem cells. In conclusion, our study identifies a new protein domain that mediates WNT5A-dependent degradation of KIF26B and provides a new tool for functional characterization of noncanonical WNT5A signaling in cells
Response of NPK fertigation on pheno-physiological status of Citrus sinensis Osbeck cv. Mosambi under high density planting
The field experiment was conducted during 2013-14 to study the effects of fertigation on the phenology and physiological status of Citrus sinensis cv. Mosambi. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with seven fertigation level, viz. T1- 120% of RDF; T2- 100% of RDF; T3- 80% of RDF; T4- 60% of RDF; T5- 40% of RDF; T6- Full dose in basal with drip irrigation and T7- Full dose in basal without drip irrigation and each treatment were replicated three times. Results obtained showed that increase in plant height (36.75 cm), trunk girth (4.67 cm), canopy volume (1.83 m3), leaf area index (5.51) and growth of current season shoot (9.42 cm2) of the plant were more responsive to higher dose of fertigation i.e. T1 followed by T2. The treatment effect was not marked on reproductive growth as expressed in terms of bud emergence, full bloom, fruit set and duration of bud emergence to maturity. The tree physiological parameters viz. total chlorophyll (2.65 mg/g), net photosynthesis rate (6.83 μmol CO2 /m2/sec), stomatal conductance (0.18 mol/m2/sec) and leaf area (31.9 cm2) were also higher under treatment receiving higher dose of fertigation i.e. T1. Therefore, on the basis of results obtained, treatment 120% RDF found superior in maintaining pheno-physiological status of mosambi plant under high density planting
Randomly arranged cation-ordered nanoregions in lead-free relaxor ferroelectric K1/2Bi1/2TiO3: Prediction from first-principles study
First-principles density functional calculations are performed to investigate the lattice dynamics, Infrared reflectivity, and Raman intensity spectra of a lead-free ferroelectric K1/2Bi1/2TiO3 system. In particular, the A-site cation ordering in K1/2Bi1/2TiO3 and its effects on lattice dynamics and the Raman spectrum are explored. The results suggest that the cation ordering at the A-site in K1/2Bi1/2TiO3 significantly influences its Raman spectra. From the analysis of theoretical and experimental Raman spectra, it is suggested that randomly arranged cation ordered nanoregions with different A-site orderings are formed in K1/2Bi1/2TiO3 samples. The random arrangement is favored by entropy contributions to free energy and may explain the lack of observed long-range A-site cation ordering in K1/2Bi1/2TiO3. Further, it is suggested that partial A-site cation ordering may also occur in K1/2Bi1/2TiO3 favored by kinetic factors during sample preparation. The Born effective charges of K and Bi ions at the A-site are computed and found to be significantly disparate, thereby suggesting hetero-polar activity at the A-site in K1/2Bi1/2TiO3. The formation of A-site hetero-polar cation ordered nanoregions and their random or/and partially ordered arrangement in K1/2Bi1/2TiO3 may play an important role in the determination of its relaxor properties apart from the dominant role played by polar nanoregions. The computed Infrared reflectivity and Raman intensity spectra are expected to provide benchmark first-principles results for further analysis of experimental spectra and results
Computed tomography brain scan findings in eclampsia
Background: Eclampsia is characterized by sudden onset of generalized tonic-clonic convulsion or coma in pregnancy or postpartum unrelated to other cerebral conditions. It is a life-threatening complication of pregnancy; the exact cause is still not conclusively elucidated. Recent studies using computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) gives valuable neuroimaging findings to determine the prognosis and early management of neurovascular complications that will reduce maternal mortality and morbidity.Methods: This is a prospective study done over 6 months to study population was chosen by eclampsia patients who were admitted through the emergency ward and also indoor patients who developed eclampsia after admission. A total of 50 patients were analyzed. Computed tomography (CT) scan of brain performed after a confinement of fetus and after stabilizing the mother. Maternal and fetal outcomes were observed in these cases.Results: A total of 50 eclampsia patients and their CT scan findings were studied. In these positive CT scan findings were noticed in 23 patients. 1 patient expired with massive cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral oedema (40%) was the most common CT scan finding and the most common area is the parietal lobe (32%) followed by the occipital (8%) and frontal 4% and all lobes (1%).Conclusions: CT scan findings provide valuable information about the neurovascular complication in eclampsia patients, early diagnosis and prompt management of these complications will reduce maternal and perinatal mortality to some extent
Effect of hot water treatment of in-shell pecans on physicochemical properties and consumer acceptability of roasted pecan kernels
The effect of hot water pre-treatment of in-shell pecans on physicochemical properties, consumer acceptance and purchase intent of dehulled and roasted kernels was evaluated. In-shell pecans were first subjected to hot water at 70, 80 and 90 °C for 8.6, 6.6 and 4.6 min respectively and kernels were later dry roasted at 160 °C for 10 min. The physicochemical properties of hot water treated and untreated nuts, before and after roasting were determined. Furthermore, consumer acceptance and purchase intent of the roasted kernels were determined. Hot water treatment, alone and subsequent roasting had minimal effect on pecans’ physicochemical properties. Consumers liked (P \u3c 0.05) the colour and aroma of treated pecans. No effect (P \u3e 0.05) of pre-treatment was observed on the acceptability of other sensory attributes. Safety claim increased treated pecans’ overall liking; however, it decreased purchase intent. Hot water treatment showed promise as a post-harvest microbial intervention strategy without affecting the physicochemical properties and consumer acceptability
