The relationship between demographic groups and perception of inclusion in a South African organisation

    Get PDF
The extreme demographic-role misrepresentation within organisations is a key business and societal issue in post-Apartheid South Africa. This research relates to deepening the understanding about the perception of inclusion with respect to demographic groups such as race/ethnicity, gender, age, tenure, religion, sexual orientation, disability, position/grade, department, as well as site location. Secondly, it seeks to understand which groups perceive inclusion less positively than other groups, when we consider the occurrence of all the groups simultaneously using structural equation modelling (SEM)

Wilks’ Factorization of the Complex Matrix Variate Dirichlet Distributions

In this paper, it has been shown that the complex matrix variate Dirichlet type I density factors into the complex matrix variate beta type I densities. Similar result has also been derived for the complex matrix variate Dirichlet type II density. Also, by using certain matrix transformations, the complex matrix variate Dirichlet distributions have been generated from the complex matrix beta distributions. Further, several results on the product of complex Wishart and complex beta matrices with a set of complex Dirichlet type I matrices have been derived. In this paper, it has been shown that the complex matrix variate Dirichlet type I density factors into the complex matrix variate beta type I densities. Extended Matrix Variate Beta Distributions

In this paper, we study the  matrix variate generalization of the extended beta type 1 distribution. We also define extended  matrix variate beta type 2 and type 3 distributions and derive several of their properties. We also establish relationship between these three matrix variate distributions

Let XX and YY be independent random variables, XX having a gamma distribution with  shape parameter  aa and YY having a non-centralgamma distribution with shape and non-centrality parameters bb andδ\delta, respectively. Define W=X/(X+2Y) W ={X}/(X + 2 Y). Then, the randomvariable WW has a non-central beta type 3 distribution, WNCB3(a,b;δ)W\sim\textnormal{NCB3} (a,b;\delta). In this article we study several of itsproperties. We also give a multivariate generalization of thenon-central beta type 3 distribution and derive its properties

A Mobile Agent Framework to Support Parallel Computing: Application to Multi-product Planning and Scheduling Problems

    Get PDF
This paper focuses on an extensible framework for the development of parallel/distributed population-based algorithms. This framework uses mobile agents launched into different hosts on available networked PCs and cooperating among them to solve large combinatorial problems efficiently. The execution environment used to realize our framework is based on the JADE technology. In addition, we define a new information exchange strategy based on a dynamic migration window method and a selective migration model. A parameters adaptation model is also proposed. This model is used to adjust different parameters/operators of the genetic algorithm executed by each mobile agent. The proposed framework has been experimented on an extended set of Earliness and Tardiness Production Scheduling and Planning Problem (ETPSP). Several experiments are carried out on different computer networks of different sizes. Results obtained show the advantages and efficiency of our approach

Funciones Beta y Gama Generalizadas Extendidas y sus Aplicaciones

In this article, we define and study generalized forms of extended matrix variate gamma and beta functions. By using a number of results from matrix algebra, special functions of matrix arguments and zonal polynomials we derive a number of properties of these newly defined functions. We also give some applications of these functions to statistical distribution theory.

A new bivariate beta distribution based on the Humbert’s confluent hypergeometric function of the second kind is introduced. Various representations are derived for its product moments, marginal densities, marginal moments, conditional densities and entropies. En este artículo se propone una nueva distribución beta bivariada basada en distribuciones hipergeométricas Humbert de segundo tipo. También se derivan las representaciones de las densidades marginales, momentos marginales y productos, densidades condicionales y entropía.&nbsp
