Infinite period bifurcation due to imperfections in rotating thermal convection

A pinning area is a band of finite width where rotating waves with precession frequences near zero turn into steady non-axisymmetric solutions. Dynamical systems theory suggests that any imperfection breaking the SO(2) invariance of a problem must result in the formation of such a region. Numerical simulations of rotating convection in a finite cylinder have been made breaking the symmetry by imposing a linear profile of temperature at the top lid in order to find the aforementioned steady solutions region

Situational-Context: A Unified View of Everything Involved at a Particular Situation

As the interest in the Web of Things increases, specially for the general population, the barriers to entry for the use of these technologies should decrease. Current applications can be developed to adapt their behaviour to predefined conditions and users preferences, facilitating their use. In the future,Web of Things software should be able to automatically adjust its behaviour to non-predefined preferences or context of its users. In this vision paper we define the Situational-Context as the combination of the virtual profiles of the entities (things or people) that concur at a particular place and time. The computation of the Situational-Context allow us to predict the expected system behaviour and the required interaction between devices to meet the entities’ goals, achieving a better adjustment of the system to variable contexts.Universidad de Málaga. Low losses power distribution network at X band in stripline

An asymmetric stripline is proposed in this paper. The main aim of this line is to distribute the power among subarrays in an array with minimum losses. Several vertical transitions to subarrays are shown besides some network designs at X band for a square array for satellite communications

This document contains the different parts of a plain antenna which is able to establish a satellite communication. This antenna has been designed in Ku Band. Nowadays this band is specially used by satellite communications and shows numerous advantages, for instance the antennas have small size therefore these antennas are cheaper. The SIW technology is a fundamental part of this project from start to end, because this technology has a lot of applications and leads in this field. Not only have been simulated all the elements of this antenna but also have been built to compare both simulations and measurements

Caracterización del efecto causado a nivel hepático por la ingesta crónica del alcohol, en un ambiente con sobrecarga de colesterol

La enfermedad hepática alcohólica, es el producto del consumo crónico de bebidas alcohólicas, y representa un problema de salud pública a nivel mundial. Datos epidemiológicos muestran que el consumo de bebidas alcohólicas se ha incrementado en todo el mundo. De igual forma, el consumo de dietas altas en grasa, particularmente de colesterol, también ha aumentado a nivel mundial y nacional, lo cual sugiere que ambos factores pueden coexistir y así, promover mayor daño al hígado. El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar si el consumo de colesterol agrava el daño hepático inducido por una dieta alcohólica. Ocupamos un modelo daño hepático conocido como modelo NIAAA, el cual ha sido reportado como uno de los mejores modelos para estudiar la enfermedad hepática alcohólica. Nuestros datos sugieren que la sobrecarga de colesterol en hígado promueve mayor sensibilización a los efectos tóxicos del alcohol en el inicio de la enfermedad hepática alcohólica, aumentando la necrosis hepática hasta 1.5 veces en ratones macho y la carga de lípidos hasta 5.5 veces en el tejido de ratones hembra. El cotratamiento de alcohol y colesterol promueve el incremento de enzimas relacionadas con la síntesis de glutatión y la destoxificación de xenobióticos mediante enzimas de fase II. El tratamiento crónico con alcohol sensibiliza a las células hepáticas hacia una muerte por apoptosis, sin embargo, este efecto es inhibido por el cotratamiento con colesterol. Estos resultados demuestran que el colesterol promueve resistencia a la apoptosis. Este fenómeno puede promover mayor compromiso hepático, al evitar que los hepatocitos dañados por el alcohol mueran de forma controlada, evitando el daño tisular

La economía en el franquismo

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado analiza las características económicas y sociales en España durante el periodo del franquismo. Al inicio de este periodo, nada más terminada la Guerra Civil, el gobierno franquista se enfrentó al aislamiento internacional, lo que provocó que se viera obligado a imponer el modelo económico de la autarquía. Con el paso del tiempo, se inició un proceso de liberalización del país que culminó con la terciarización de la sociedad, gracias al auge del turismo. Con este objetivo propuesto, el trabajo se va a desarrollar realizando un análisis de cada uno de los periodos elegidos desde un punto de vista cronológico, estudiando el modelo económico y las políticas llevadas a cabo por el gobierno de la época.Grado en Administración y Dirección de Empresa
