TFF (v.4.1): A Mathematica Notebook for the Calculation of One- and Two-Neutron Stripping and Pick-Up Nuclear Reactions
The program TFF calculates stripping single-particle form factors for one-neutron transfer in prior representation with appropriate perturbative treatment of recoil. Coupled equations are then integrated along a semiclassical trajectory to obtain one- and two-neutron transfer amplitudes and probabilities within first- and second-order perturbation theory. Total and differential cross-sections are then calculated by folding with a transmission function (obtained from a phenomenological imaginary absorption potential). The program description, user instructions and examples are discussed

HRQL was measured with the Short Form 12 Health Survey Questionnaire (SF-12). Severity of COPD was graded into three levels according to forced expiratory volume in one second value. Results: COPD severity was mild in 33.8% of cases, moderate in 49.3% and severe in 16.8%. The mean physical component summary (PCS-12) and mental component summary (MCS-12) scores were 36.8 ± 10.4 and 47.2 ± 11.2, respectively. General health and physical functioning domains were those with the lowest scores. The mean MCS-12 scores were significantly higher in men (47.9 ± 10.9) than in women (44.1 ± 11.8) (P < 0.001). Patients older than 60 years rated HRQL worse than patients aged 40–59 years. There were statistically significant differences according to severity of disease in the mean scores of all domains of the PCS-12 and MCS-12 scales. Conclusions: The present findings show the influence of female gender, older age and moderate-to-severe of airflow limitation on HRQL in outpatients with COPD attended in daily practice. Keywords: health status, health surveys, multicenter study, pulmonary disease, chronic obstructive/epidemiology, quality of life, questionnaire
hispanoamericanos.
The present investigation, compiles a corpus of representations archetypical in the light
of theory about the collective unconscious and the archeotype raised by Carls Gustav
Jung. The configuration of the representations were presented with pre-columbian
myths, subsequently to it through the method of Gilbert Duran called mitochritic, was
verified the validity of the representation in the stories of Hispanic -American authors.
Likewise, a didactic unit was designed to transform the teaching of myth in the ninth
grade of the educational institution Alberto Castilla, in order to expand from the theory of
Mircea Eliade and of Carl Jung the concept of myth, and the corpus of stories read by
the students, in order to discover the archetypal convergences, the symbolic attributes
and the sacred character that demonstrates the current relationship between myth and
man. Finally the students had the opportunity to update myths, archetypes and
representations, through a process of writing mini-stories through the workshop as a
space for learning, play and creation.

Heavy metal tolerance strategies in metallicolous and non-metallicolous populations of mosses: Insights of γ+β-tocopherol regulatory role
As bryophytes present the capacity to colonize a wide range of habitats, including extreme environments (e.g.,
mine areas), we first checked the global response of bryophytes to heavy metals (HM) by a systematic review.
This analysis found i) the lack of studies in a polluted environment and ii) resulted in a global trend of photochemical
efficiency decrease when bryophytes faced heavy metals. Secondly, we characterized the photoprotective
responses of four metallicolous populations of mosses (Lewinskya rupestris, Polytrichum commune,
Ptychostomum compactum and Rhynchostegium confertum) naturally growing in an abandoned mine area by an
experimental field approach. As a result, we found markedly species-specific tolerance patterns: i) less tolerant
species, presenting high pollutants content accompanied by marked dissipative and antioxidative strategies. This
strategy was depicted by the species R. confertum that result to be a good sentinel species due to the high
pollutant content and high physiological sensitivity.; ii) intermediate tolerant species presenting a medium
content of pollutants and less marked photoprotective mechanisms, and iii) most tolerant species minimizing
pollutants content and consequently presenting no changes in their physiological performance. This evidence
support that species’ bryological attributes have a key role in determining species’ tolerance towards environmental
heavy metals, and should be taken into consideration in future studies. The findings of this study also
pointed out that the higher levels of γ + β-tocopherol in metallicolous populations could play a regulatory role in
metal stress tolerance in mosses and it could be a suitable functional responsive trait for environmental response
prediction to heavy metals in polluted environments

Modulation of van der Waals and classical epitaxy induced by strain at the Si step edges in GeSbTe alloys
The present work displays a route to design strain gradients at the interface between substrate and van der Waals bonded materials. The latter are expected to grow decoupled from the substrates and fully relaxed and thus, by definition, incompatible with conventional strain engineering. By the usage of passivated vicinal surfaces we are able to insert strain at step edges of layered chalcogenides, as demonstrated by the tilt of the epilayer in the growth direction with respect of the substrate orientation. The interplay between classical and van der Waals epitaxy can be modulated with an accurate choice of the substrate miscut. High quality crystalline GexSb2Te3+x with almost Ge1Sb2Te4 composition and improved degree of ordering of the vacancy layers is thus obtained by epitaxial growth of layers on 3–4° stepped Si substrates. These results highlight that it is possible to build and control strain in van der Waals systems, therefore opening up new prospects for the functionalization of epilayers by directly employing vicinal substrates
Potential Oestrogenic Effects (Following the OECD Test Guideline 440) and Thyroid Dysfunction Induced by Pure Cyanotoxins (Microcystin-LR, Cylindrospermopsin) in Rats
Potential endocrine-disrupting properties of cyanotoxins, such as microcystin-LR (MC-LR) and cylindrospermopsin (CYN) are of concern due to their increasing occurrence, the scarcity of reports on the topic (particularly for CYN) and the impact of human's health at different levels. Thus, this work performed for the first time the uterotrophic bioassay in rats, following the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Test Guideline 440, to explore the oestrogenic properties of CYN and MC-LR (75, 150, 300 μg/kg b.w./day) in ovariectomized (OVX) rats. Results revealed neither changes in the wet and blotted uterus weights nor in the morphometric study of uteri. Moreover, among the steroid hormones analysed in serum, the most remarkable effect was the dose-dependent increase in progesterone (P) levels in rats exposed to MC-LR. Additionally, a histopathology study of thyroids and serum levels of thyroids hormones were determined. Tissue affectation (follicular hypertrophy, exfoliated epithelium, hyperplasia) was observed, as well as increased T3 and T4 levels in rats exposed to both toxins. Taken together, these results point out that CYN and MC-LR are not oestrogenic compounds at the conditions tested in the uterotrophic assay in OVX rats, but, however, thyroid disruption effects cannot be discarded.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación PRE 2020-094412Junta de Andalucía P18-RTJ-195
