A recipe for an unpredictable random number generator

    Get PDF
In this work we present a model for computation of random processes in digital computers which solves the problem of periodic sequences and hidden errors produced by correlations. We show that systems with non-invertible non-linearities can produce unpredictable sequences of independent random numbers. We illustrate our result with some numerical calculations related with random walks simulations.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, Proceedings Mochima spring school in theoretial physic

The link between water access and subjective well-being: some methods and proposals.

    Get PDF
The study of happiness or subjective well-being has traditionally been studied within the disciplines of psychology or sociology. Although economics has contemplated happiness in research terms, it has only recently been studied in any depth. In this paper we offer several proposals in order to investigate the relationship between water access and happiness, suggesting some situations that would merit further research. Moreover, we have included some methodological notes in order to achieve this objective. This relationship can be useful in two ways. Firstly, it can favour the contemplation of water access as a human right. Secondly, it can serve as a framework for the decision-making process carried out by Governments and NGOs in developing countries.

Universal functions and exactly solvable chaotic systems

    Get PDF
A universal differential equation is a nontrivial differential equation the solutions of which approximate to arbitrary accuracy any continuous function on any interval of the real line. On the other hand, there has been much interest in exactly solvable chaotic maps. An important problem is to generalize these results to continuous systems. Theoretical analysis would allow us to prove theorems about these systems and predict new phenomena. In the present paper we discuss the concept of universal functions and their relevance to the theory of universal differential equations. We present a connection between universal functions and solutions to chaotic systems. We will show the statistical independence between X(t)X(t) and X(t+τ)X(t + \tau) (when τ\tau is not equal to zero) and X(t)X(t) is a solution to some chaotic systems. We will construct universal functions that behave as delta-correlated noise. We will construct universal dynamical systems with truly noisy solutions. We will discuss physically realizable dynamical systems with universal-like properties.Comment: 12 Pages, 9 figures. Proceedings 1st Meeting IST-IM

Migración de jóvenes, adolescentes y niños mexiquenses a Estados Unidos: una lectura sociodemográfica

    Get PDF
Limits on excited tau leptons masses from leptonic tau decays

We study the effects induced by excited leptons on the leptonic tau decay at one loop level. Using a general effective lagrangian approach to describe the couplings of the excited leptons, we compute their contributions to the leptonic decays and use the current experimental values of the branching ratios to put limits on the mass of excited states and the substructure scale.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures, to be published in Phys. From a Conventional to an Inclusive Teaching Classroom

Inclusive education constitutes a point of inclination in policy development and care practices to student populations and social diversity. There are goals and strategies in the Mexican educational system which demonstrate the government’s interest to promote equity and equality opportunities for the entire vulnerable population. These policies are based on the need to recognize the right of people with special educational needs to quality education. Consequently, one of the goals of Plan Nacional de Desarrollo 2019-2024, it is a social policy which has actions to offer education for the entire population and sustainable development. Therefore, El Tecnológico Nacional de México contributes with a cross-cutting strategy to the evolution with inclusion, total equality and sustainable development through inclusive education. In this understanding, the purpose of this project is to design an action plan which allows to change a conventional teaching classroom to an inclusive teaching classroom in order to attend people with special educational needs belonging to priority groups of Tecnológico Nacional de México

Synthesis and characterization of carboxyl and acetal latexes by emulsion polymerization. Application to the production of latex-protein complexes for detecting chagas disease

    Get PDF
Monodisperse polymer particles with carboxyl and acetal functionalities were synthesized through a two-step emulsion polymerization process. In the first step, latex particles were synthesized by batch emulsion polymerization of styrene (St); and in the second step, the functional monomers (methacrylic acid or acrolein diethyl acetal) were copolymerized with St onto the previously formed polystyrene particles. The synthesized “core-shell” latexes were used as support for their sensitization (by covalent coupling) with two antigenic recombinant proteins of Trypanosoma cruzi (RP1 and CP1). Polymer latexes and latex-protein complexes were characterized by measuring their colloidal stability, average particle size, shell thickness and protein thickness through conductimetric titration, dynamic light scattering, turbidimetry and scanning electron microscopy.Fil: Garcia, Valeria Soledad. Effectiveness of polyhexamethylene biguanide dressings vs. platelet-rich plasma in diabetic foot ulcer: a pilot study of case series

    Get PDF
Diverse treatments, including polyhexamethylene biguanide dressings, have been explored for managing diabetic foot ulcers. Platelet-rich plasma, known for its potential in chronic wound healing, has demonstrated efficacy both in vivo and in vitro, with possible intralesional or topical application. However, research on the production costs of PRP is scarce. This study compares the effectiveness and financial implications of polyhexamethylene biguanide dressings versus Platelet-rich Plasma in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. Conducted at the General Hospital of Mexico from July to August 2019, this case series involved 8 patients, split equally between the two treatment groups. Weekly assessments showed consistent reductions in wound size in both groups. By the fourth week, 75% of patients achieved clinical healing. The PHMB group demonstrated a 75.13% reduction in wound size, compared to a 37.38% reduction in the PRP group. However, due to the small sample size, no statistical significance was found between wound size, healing time, and dressing type. This report suggests no clear relationship between treatment, healing duration, and wound diameter. Additionally, PRP did not show a clear financial advantage over PHMB dressings. Randomized control trials with sufficient sample sizes are required to demonstrate overall advantage for each therapy choice
