La investigación en enfermerÃa y los modelos de citación bibliográfica
Esta investigación se centra en el análisis de la forma de publicar de las revistas de enfermerÃa. Se analizan básicamente dos modelos, el modelo Vancouver, promovido por el Comité Internacional de Editores de Revistas Médicas, y el modelo APA, de la Asociación Norteamericana de PsicologÃa. Se discuten sus ventajas e inconvenientes. A la vista de cómo se publica en la actualidad y de cómo se juzga la investigación, se propone que las revistas de enfermerÃa adopten su propio modelo, independientemente de cómo publican los profesionales de la medicina.Esta pesquisa concentra-se na análise de como os jornais de enfermagem publicam os seus artigos. Basicamente, dois modelos são analisados, o Vancouver, promovido pelo Comitê Internacional dos Editores de Revistas Médicas, e APA, pela Associação Psicológica Americana. As suas vantagens e desvantagens são aqui discutidas. Diante da maneira que os artigos de pesquisa estão sendo publicados, atualmente, e como a pesquisa está sendo julgada, os autores propõem um modelo próprio para a enfermagem, independentemente de como publicam os profissionais médicos.This research focuses on the analysis of how nursing journals publish their papers. Basically, two models are analyzed, Vancouver, by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, and APA by the American Psychological Association. Their advantages and disadvantages are discussed. In view of how research papers are currently published and how research is judged, the authors propose that nursing journals adopt their own model, irrespective of how medical professionals publish

Diversos autors han analitzat els voluminosos tractats de Francesc Eiximenis, especialment pel que fa a matèries relacionades amb la teologia moral, però també sobre altres temes, com la guerra i la pau, l’astrologia, el govern, la cuina i el menjar, i d’altres. En aquest article ens proposem apropar-nos a com Eiximenis tracta el tema dels hospitals, medicina, salut i malaltia. Eiximenis es preocupava de les necessitats del poble que sofria tot tipus de malalties; a part d’haver viscut durant diverses epidèmies, que provocà moltes morts a la penÃnsula, també suggerà als jurats de València un bon sistema d’hospitals i on s’haurien de construir, i també els cridà l’atenció respecte de

Epistemic and deontic modality: a linguistic indicator of disciplinary variation in academic English
We present a pragmatic analytical framework to explore the reasons underlying the differences in the use of modal verbs in English research articles (RAs) in three different academic disciplines: medicine, biology and literary criticism. Sentences
may be either modalized or unmodalized. The use of modalized statements is a key feature of academic writing, and this expression of modalization has been widely researched. However, most of this investigation has not considered the linguistic distinction of types of modalization: epistemic modality (questioning the certainty or probability of a statement) and deontic modality (laying obligations or giving
permission to the reader/audience). This linguistic dichotomy may be an important tool to describe disciplinary variations in academic writing. It is hypothesized that different disciplines favor different types of modality. Results in this study indicate
that scientific RAs (i.e., in medicine and biology) mostly use epistemic modality, whereas literary criticism RAs combine the use of both epistemic and deontic modality. It is our contention that the selection of one specific type of modality
(i.e., epistemic or deontic) is a matter of a deliberate stylistic choice of writers influenced by the pragmatic context of their specific and distinct academic discourse communities
