PENGARUH PERLAKUAN UREA TERHADAP KADAR TANIN BIJI MAKADAMIA (Macadamia hildebrandii)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sampai sejauh mana penurunan kadar tanin pada biji makadamia (Macadamia hildebrandii) melalui pemberian  perlakuan urea. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola factorial 3 x 3 yang terdiri dari 3 level pemberian urea (2, 3 dan 4 persen) dan lama pemeraman (7, 14  dan 21 hari) dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil yang didapat dari analisis ragam melalui SPSS menunjukkan bahwa level pemberian urea dan lama perlakuan pemeraman serta interaksi antara level keduanya tidak berpengaruh terhadap kadar tanin pada biji macadamia. Tetapi bila dibandingkan dengan kadar tanin pada biji macadamia yang tidak diberi perlakuan (4,4433%) dengan yang diberi perlakuan (0,4088) menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat nyata.  Kata Kunci: Tannin content, Urea, Macadamia seed

“Courageous but insolent”: African soldiers in the Dutch East Indies as seen by Dutch officials and Indonesian neighbours

Labour shortages were endemic in colonial societies. Plantation and mining labour was notoriously unattractive, but the army posed problems of its own. In their search to satisfy the voracious appetite for labour in commercial empires and colonial societies, rulers developed racial and ethnic stereotypes as to which “race” was most suitable to perform certain jobs. Africans were deemed most suitable for hard physical labour in tropical climates. They were also portrayed as “martial races”, fit to fill the manpower needs of both Islamic and European armies. This article will first give a brief overview of the use of African labour in the Dutch East Indies. Next, I discuss in more detail one peculiar aspect of inter colonial labour migration in the Dutch colonial empire: the recruitment of West African soldiers for the Dutch East Indies army in the 19th century

Analyse des nouveaux patients adressés au C.S.A.P.A. du CHU de Rouen

Si souvent le médecin de famille est le premier praticien à dépister des difficultés en lien avec une consommation excessive d'alcool, par la suite, de par son caractère chronique, cette pathologie implique un accompagnement dans la durée. La prise en charge des patients évolue avec les complications induites, l'acceptation du patient à les mettre en lien avec ses consommations, ainsi qu'a envisager de modifier durablement son comportement. De nombreux spécialistes sont ainsi susceptibles d'intervenir à différents moments, que ce soit pour les complications somatiques, psychiatriques ou encore sociales. Mais à quel moment de ce parcours interviennent les structures dédiées ? Quels sont les éléments qui déterminent l'entrée du patient dans le système de soins en addictologie ? Notre étude, réalisée sur 303 dossiers, nous a permis d'établir que le 5 patients consultant au C.S.A.P. A du CHU de Rouen étaient à l'image de ceux présentant un problème d'alcool en population générale. Nous avons par ailleurs mis en évidence que les patients présentant un mésusage d'alcool étaient fortement à l'origine de cette orientation, qu'ils venaient de leur propre chef dans la majorité des cas. Le médecin généraliste ne représente que le deuxième mode d'orientation. Enfin, la situation du C.S.A.P.A au sein même du CHU de BOIS-GUILLAUME et l'existence d'une équipe de liaison entraine un nombre important d'orientation secondaire à une hospitalisation dans les différents services du CHU de ROUEN. Malgré les versants psycho-sociaux importants de cette maladie, les voies psychiatriques et sociales sont peu représentées. Nous apportons quelques éléments de réflexion pou,. ant expliquer ce rôle, qui semble modeste, des médecins généralistes pourtant en première ligne.
