SELECTION OF PRIVACY ENHANCED COMMUNICATION: AN EXTENSION OF THE UTAUT2 THEORY
In 2013, the capacity and capability of the worldâs intelligence agencies to monitor communications was revealed, which has resulted in an increased awareness by consumers of the potential that private communications could be monitored on a grand scale. As a result of these disclosures, consumers are more sensitive to privacy related concerns, but there is limited extant literature and models focusing on the impact the perception of privacy has on consumerâs selection, acceptance, and use of technology. This paper proposes a theoretical extension of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) to incorporate privacy as an individual factor influencing consumer acceptance and use of technology. The proposed UTAUT2+P theory incorporates the perception of privacy as an individual difference, along with age, gender and experience, which is hypothesized to moderate the effects of extant UTAUT2 constructs on behavioral intention and technology acceptance by consumers

Non-Malicious Information Exposure Through Personal Device Usage
Information technology security policies are designed explicitly to protect IT systems. However, overly restrictive information security policies may be inadvertently creating an unforeseen information risk by encouraging users to bypass protected systems in favor of personal devices, where the potential loss of organizational intellectual property is greater. Organizations that implement overly restrictive web filtering, website blocking, and other security measures to protect the integrity of their information systems are likely introducing a risk that sensitive or protected information will be processed on personal devices, outside of the organizational framework, as users identify the most efficient and effective way to accomplish work-related tasks unimpeded. Current models regarding the acceptance and use of technology, primarily TAM3 and UTAUT2, address the use of technology in organizations and by consumers, but little research has been done to identify an appropriate model to begin to understand what factors would influence users that can choose between using their own personal device and using organizational IT assets, separate and distinct from âbring your own deviceâ constructs. This research aims to bridge that divide by identifying the factors that influence users to select their own device to overcome organizational restrictions in order to accomplish their work
High-Resolution Mid-Infrared Morphology of Cygnus A
We present subarcsecond resolution mid-infrared images at 10.8 and 18.2
microns of Cygnus A. These images were obtained with the University of Florida
mid-IR camera/spectrometer OSCIR at the Keck II 10-m telescope. Our data show
extended mid-IR emission primarily to the east of the nucleus with a possible
western extension detected after image deconvolution. This extended emission is
closely aligned with the bi-conical structure observed at optical and near-IR
wavelengths by the HST. This emission is consistent with dust heated from the
central engine of Cygnus A. We also marginally detect large-scale low level
emission extending > 1.5 kpc from the nucleus which may be caused by in-situ
star formation, line emission, and/or PAH contamination within the bandpass of

Dramatic Plays as a Tool to Educate Young African-American Females about HIV/AIDS
Rates of HIV/AIDS transmission have increased substantially, particularly among young African American women. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), HIV/AIDS is the number one killer for African American women aged 25 to 34. Given that many of these young women are contracting the disease in their late teens and early twenties, there is a need to develop interventions that directly address the needs of this group. The current study sought to assess the effectiveness of theater in increasing knowledge of HIV/AIDS and the likelihood of healthier sexual behavior and choices among 219 young African American women 18 to 39 years of age. Paired sample t-tests revealed that there were significant mean differences in knowledge and intended safe sex behavior after viewing the play. Young women who viewed the play reported increased knowledge of HIV and reported a higher likelihood of engaging in safer sex. Given the high rates of HIV/AIDS among young African American women, more innovative educational and prevention techniques are needed
The Color-Magnitude Relation in Coma: Clues to the Age and Metallicity of Cluster Populations
We have observed three fields of the Coma cluster of galaxies with a narrow
band (modified Stromgren) filter system. Observed galaxies include 31 in the
vicinity of NGC 4889, 48 near NGC 4874, and 60 near NGC 4839 complete to
M_5500=-18 in all three subclusters. Spectrophotometric classification finds
all three subclusters of Coma to be dominated by red, E type (ellipticals/S0's)
galaxies with a mean blue fraction, f_B, of 0.10. The blue fraction increases
to fainter luminosities, possible remnants of dwarf starburst population or the
effects of dynamical friction removing bright, blue galaxies from the cluster
population by mergers. We find the color-magnitude (CM) relation to be well
defined and linear over the range of M_5500=-13 to -22. After calibration to
multi-metallicity models, bright ellipticals are found to have luminosity
weighted mean [Fe/H] values between -0.5 and +0.5, whereas low luminosity
ellipticals have [Fe/H] values ranging from -2 to solar. The lack of CM
relation in our continuum color suggests that a systematic age effect cancels
the metallicity effects in this bandpass. This is confirmed with our age index
which finds a weak correlation between luminosity and mean stellar age in
ellipticals such that the stellar populations of bright ellipticals are 2 to 3

Domestic thermal upgrades, community action and energy saving: a three-year experimental study of prosperous households
A three-year field experiment was conducted with 185 prosperous households to assess whether behavioural interventions by a community environmental group during and after thermal upgrades (cavity wall and/or loft insulation) can achieve reductions in householdsâ energy use, including reductions in direct and indirect rebound. The engineering interventions on the thermal efficiency of dwellings appear effective in reducing energy use in both treatment and control groups: a direct rebound effect is estimated to be at most 40 per cent from the engineering interventions. However, across a range of measures of energy use, we observe no significant effect of the community behavioural intervention across the total lifetime of the project. Qualitative data collected on similar community groups suggests substantial constraints on their capacity to realise reductions in energy use amongst households
Results from a set of three-dimensional numerical experiments of a hot Jupiter atmosphere
We present highlights from a large set of simulations of a hot Jupiter
atmosphere, nominally based on HD 209458b, aimed at exploring both the
evolution of the deep atmosphere, and the acceleration of the zonal flow or
jet. We find the occurrence of a super-rotating equatorial jet is robust to
changes in various parameters, and over long timescales, even in the absence of
strong inner or bottom boundary drag. This jet is diminished in one simulation
only, where we strongly force the deep atmosphere equator-to-pole temperature
gradient over long timescales. Finally, although the eddy momentum fluxes in
our atmosphere show similarities with the proposed mechanism for accelerating
jets on tidally-locked planets, the picture appears more complex. We present
tentative evidence for a jet driven by a combination of eddy momentum transport

A discursive psychology analysis of emotional support for men with colorectal cancer
Recent research into both masculinity and health, and the provision of social support for people with cancer has focussed upon the variations that may underlie broad assumptions about masculine health behaviour. The research reported here pursues this interest in variation by addressing the discursive properties of talk about emotional support, by men with colorectal cancer - an understudied group in the social support and cancer literature. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight men with colorectal cancer, and the transcripts analysed using an intensive discursive psychology approach. From this analysis two contrasting approaches to this group of menâs framing of emotional support in the context of cancer are described. First, talk about cancer was positioned as incompatible with preferred masculine identities. Second, social contact that affirms personal relationships was given value, subject to constraints arising from discourses concerning appropriate emotional expression. These results are discussed with reference to both the extant research literature on masculinity and health, and their clinical implications, particularly the advice on social support given to older male cancer patients, their families and friends
