    Fault Diagnosis of Rotating Machinery Bearings Based on Improved DCNN and WOA-DELM

    A bearing is a critical component in the transmission of rotating machinery. However, due to prolonged exposure to heavy loads and high-speed environments, rolling bearings are highly susceptible to faults, Hence, it is crucial to enhance bearing fault diagnosis to ensure safe and reliable operation of rotating machinery. In order to achieve this, a rotating machinery fault diagnosis method based on a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) optimized Deep Extreme Learning Machine (DELM) is proposed in this paper. DCNN is a combination of the Efficient Channel Attention Net (ECA-Net) and Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM). In this method, firstly, a DCNN classification network is constructed. The ECA-Net and BiLSTM are brought into the deep convolutional neural network to extract critical features. Next, the WOA is used to optimize the weight of the initial input layer of DELM to build the WOA-DELM classifier model. Finally, the features extracted by the Improved DCNN (IDCNN) are sent to the WOA-DELM model for bearing fault diagnosis. The diagnostic capability of the proposed IDCNN-WOA-DELM method was evaluated through multiple-condition fault diagnosis experiments using the CWRU-bearing dataset with various settings, and comparative tests against other methods were conducted as well. The results indicate that the proposed method demonstrates good diagnostic performance

    Thermodynamic Geometry and Critical Behavior of Black Holes

    Based on the observations that there exists an analogy between the Reissner-Nordstr\"om-anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black holes and the van der Waals-Maxwell liquid-gas system, in which a correspondence of variables is (ϕ,q)↔(V,P)(\phi, q) \leftrightarrow (V,P), we study the Ruppeiner geometry, defined as Hessian matrix of black hole entropy with respect to the internal energy (not the mass) of black hole and electric potential (angular velocity), for the RN, Kerr and RN-AdS black holes. It is found that the geometry is curved and the scalar curvature goes to negative infinity at the Davies' phase transition point for the RN and Kerr black holes. Our result for the RN-AdS black holes is also in good agreement with the one about phase transition and its critical behavior in the literature.Comment: Revtex, 18 pages including 4 figure

    The gut microbiome: A line of defense against tuberculosis development

    The tuberculosis (TB) burden remains a significant global public health concern, especially in less developed countries. While pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) is the most common form of the disease, extrapulmonary tuberculosis, particularly intestinal TB (ITB), which is mostly secondary to PTB, is also a significant issue. With the development of sequencing technologies, recent studies have investigated the potential role of the gut microbiome in TB development. In this review, we summarized studies investigating the gut microbiome in both PTB and ITB patients (secondary to PTB) compared with healthy controls. Both PTB and ITB patients show reduced gut microbiome diversity characterized by reduced Firmicutes and elevated opportunistic pathogens colonization; Bacteroides and Prevotella were reported with opposite alteration in PTB and ITB patients. The alteration reported in TB patients may lead to a disequilibrium in metabolites such as short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production, which may recast the lung microbiome and immunity via the “gut-lung axis”. These findings may also shed light on the colonization of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the gastrointestinal tract and the development of ITB in PTB patients. The findings highlight the crucial role of the gut microbiome in TB, particularly in ITB development, and suggest that probiotics and postbiotics might be useful supplements in shaping a balanced gut microbiome during TB treatment

    The phase transition and the Quasi-Normal Modes of black Holes

    We reexamined the argument that the quasinormal modes could be a probe of the phase transition of a topological black hole to a hairy configuration by investigating general scalar perturbations. We found further evidence in the quasinormal modes for this phase transition. For the general black hole configurations, we observed that although the quasinormal modes can present us different phases of different configurations, there is no dramatic change in the slope of quasinormal frequencies at the critical point of the phase transition. More detailed studies of quasinormal modes are needed to reveal the subtle behavior of the phase transition.Comment: Revised version, accepted for publication in JHE

    Midlatitude Plasma Bubbles Over China and Adjacent Areas During a Magnetic Storm on 8 September 2017

    This paper presents observations of postsunset super plasma bubbles over China and adjacent areas during the second main phase of a storm on 8 September 2017. The signatures of the plasma bubbles can be seen or deduced from (1) deep field‐aligned total electron content depletions embedded in regional ionospheric maps derived from dense Global Navigation Satellite System networks, (2) significant equatorial and midlatitudinal plasma bite‐outs in electron density measurements on board Swarm satellites, and (3) enhancements of ionosonde virtual height and scintillation in local evening associated with strong southward interplanetary magnetic field. The bubbles/depletions covered a broad area mainly within 20°–45°N and 80°–110°E with bifurcated structures and persisted for nearly 5 hr (∌13–18 UT). One prominent feature is that the bubbles extended remarkably along the magnetic field lines in the form of depleted flux tubes, reaching up to midlatitude of around 50°N (magnetic latitude: 45.5°N) that maps to an altitude of 6,600 km over the magnetic equator. The maximum upward drift speed of the bubbles over the magnetic equator was about 700 m/s and gradually decreased with altitude and time.     Dirac Cosmology and the Acceleration of the Contemporary Universe

    A model is suggested to unify the Einstein GR and Dirac Cosmology. There is one adjusted parameter b2b_2 in our model. After adjusting the parameter b2b_2 in the model by using the supernova data, we have calculated the gravitational constant Gˉ\bar G and the physical quantities of a(t)a(t), q(t)q(t) and ρr(t)/ρb(t)\rho_r(t)/ \rho_b(t) by using the present day quantities as the initial conditions and found that the equation of state parameter wΞw_{\theta} equals to -0.83, the ratio of the density of the addition creation ΩΛ=0.8\Omega_{\Lambda}=0.8 and the ratio of the density of the matter including multiplication creation, radiation and normal matter Ωm=0.2\Omega_m =0.2 at present. The results are self-consistent and in good agreement with present knowledge in cosmology. These results suggest that the addition creation and multiplication creation in Dirac cosmology play the role of the dark energy and dark matter.Comment: 13 pages, 8 figure

    Constraints on the Dark Energy from the holographic connection to the small l CMB Suppression

    Using the recently obtained holographic cosmic duality, we reached a reasonable quantitative agreement between predictions of the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation at small l and the WMAP observations, showing the power of the holographic idea. We also got constraints on the dark energy and its behaviour as a function of the redshift upon relating it to the small l CMB spectrum. For a redshift independent dark energy, our constraint is consistent with the supernova results, which again shows the correctness of the cosmic duality prescription. We have also extended our study to the redshift dependence of the dark energy.Comment: accepted for publication in Phys. Lett.

    Long Non-Coding RNA MEG3 Functions as a Competing Endogenous RNA to Regulate HOXA11 Expression by Sponging miR-181a in Multiple Myeloma

    Background/Aims: Long non-coding RNA maternally expressed gene 3 (MEG3) has been reported to play an essential role in cancer progression and metastasis. However, the overall biological role and regulatory mechanism of MEG3 in multiple myeloma (MM) development and progression remains largely ill-defined. Methods: MEG3 and miR-181a expression of MM patients were analyzed by publicly available MM data sets. Cell counting kit-8 and flow cytometry analysis were used to identify the function of MEG3 on MM in vitro. Additionally, we conducted tumor formation experiments in mice models to explain the role of MEG3 on MM in vivo. Then, several mechanism experiments, including dual-luciferase reporter assay and RNA immunoprecipitation were performed to evaluate the emulative relationship between MEG3 and miR-181a. Results: In this research, we found that MEG3 was downregulated in MM patients, which was linked with tumor progression. In addition, we demonstrated that miR-181a was overexpressed in MM patients in consistent with its cancer-promoting function. Importantly, several mechanism experiments revealed that MEG3, acting as an endogenous competitive RNA, could contend with miR-181a to inhibit tumor progression. Furthermore, as the target mRNA of miR-181a, homeobox gene A11(HOXA11) could be positively regulated by MEG3 through sponging miR-181a competitively in vitro. Conclusion: Our present work supplies the first discovery of a MEG3/miR-181a/HOXA11 regulatory network in MM and highlights that MEG3 may serve as a promising target for MM therapy in the future

    An Integrated Regulatory Network Based on Comprehensive Analysis of mRNA Expression, Gene Methylation and Expression of Long Non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in Myelodysplastic Syndromes

    Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis, defective differentiation of hematopoietic precursors, and expansion of the abnormal clones. The prevalence of MDS has raised great concerns worldwide, but its pathogenetic mechanisms remain elusive. To provide insights on novel biomarkers for the diagnosis and therapy of MDS, we performed high-throughput genome-wide mRNA expression profiling, DNA methylation analysis, and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNA) analysis on bone marrows from four MDS patients and four age-matched healthy controls. We identified 1,937 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), 515 methylated genes, and 214 lncRNA that showed statistically significant differences. As the most significant module-related DEGs, TCL1A, PTGS2, and MME were revealed to be enriched in regulation of cell differentiation and cell death pathways. In addition, the GeneGo pathway maps identified by top DEGs were shown to converge on cancer, immunoregulation, apoptosis and regulation of actin cytoskeleton, most of which are known contributors in MDS etiology and pathogenesis. Notably, as potential biomarkers for diagnosis of MDS, four specific genes (ABAT, FADD, DAPP1, and SMPD3) were further subjected to detailed pathway analysis. Our integrative analysis on mRNA expression, gene methylation and lncRNAs profiling facilitates further understanding of the pathogenesis of MDS, and may promote the diagnosis and novel therapeutics for this disease
