Explicit group USSOR method for solving elliptic partial differential equations
This paper presents a new 4-points Explicit Group Unsymmetric
Successive Overrelaxation (USSOR) iterative method to approximate the solution of the
linear systems derived from the discretisation of self-adjoint elliptic partial equations.
Several studies have been carried out by many researchers on the USSOR iterative
method, for example, the analysis of its convergence [1], an upper bound for its error [2]
and recently a special case of the USSOR, namely the SSOR method has been used to
approximate the solution of augmented systems [4] and [8]. The computational behaviour
of this new method and a comparison with its point version is presented
Theory and experiment of the ESR of Co in Zn % (OH)PO and Mg(OH)AsO
Experiments of Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) were performed on Co
substituting Zn or Mg in powder samples of Zn(OH)PO and
Mg(OH)AsO. The observed resonances are described with a theoretical
model that considers the departures from the two perfect structures. It is
shown that the resonance in the penta-coordinated complex is allowed, and the
crystal fields that would describe the resonance of the Co in the two
environments are calculated. The small intensity of the resonance in the
penta-coordinated complex is explained assuming that this site is much less
populated than the octahedral one; this assumption was verified by a molecular
calculation of the energies of the two environments, with both Co and Zn as
central ions in Zn(OH)PO.Comment: 43 pages, LaTex file, 6 figures, EPS. submitted to Journal of Physics

Data acquisition electronics and reconstruction software for directional detection of Dark Matter with MIMAC
Directional detection of galactic Dark Matter requires 3D reconstruction of
low energy nuclear recoils tracks. A dedicated acquisition electronics with
auto triggering feature and a real time track reconstruction software have been
developed within the framework of the MIMAC project of detector. This
auto-triggered acquisition electronic uses embedded processing to reduce data
transfer to its useful part only, i.e. decoded coordinates of hit tracks and
corresponding energy measurements. An acquisition software with on-line
monitoring and 3D track reconstruction is also presented.Comment: 17 pages, 12 figure

Structure of ternary additive hard-sphere fluid mixtures
Monte Carlo simulations on the structural properties of ternary fluid
mixtures of additive hard spheres are reported. The results are compared with
those obtained from a recent analytical approximation [S. B. Yuste, A. Santos,
and M. Lopez de Haro, J. Chem. Phys. 108, 3683 (1998)] to the radial
distribution functions of hard-sphere mixtures and with the results derived
from the solution of the Ornstein-Zernike integral equation with both the
Martynov-Sarkisov and the Percus-Yevick closures. Very good agreement between
the results of the first two approaches and simulation is observed, with a
noticeable improvement over the Percus-Yevick predictions especially near
contact.Comment: 11 pages, including 8 figures; A minor change; accepted for
