Proton-deuteron radiative capture cross sections at intermediate energies
Differential cross sections of the reaction have been
measured at deuteron laboratory energies of 110, 133 and 180 MeV. The data were
obtained with a coincidence setup measuring both the outgoing He and the
photon. The data are compared with modern calculations including all possible
meson-exchange currents and two- and three- nucleon forces in the potential.
The data clearly show a preference for one of the models, although the shape of
the angular distribution cannot be reproduced by any of the presented models.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in EPJ
Spin observables in deuteron-proton radiative capture at intermediate energies
A radiative deuteron-proton capture experiment was carried out at KVI using
polarized-deuteron beams at incident energies of 55, 66.5, and 90 MeV/nucleon.
Vector and tensor-analyzing powers were obtained for a large angular range. The
results are interpreted with the help of Faddeev calculations, which are based
on modern two- and three-nucleon potentials. Our data are described well by the
calculations, and disagree significantly with the observed tensor anomaly at
RCNP.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, submitted to PL
Double Photoproduction off the Proton at Threshold
The reaction has been measured using the TAPS
BaF calorimeter at the tagged photon facility of the Mainz Microtron
accelerator. Chiral perturbation theory (ChPT) predicts that close to threshold
this channel is significantly enhanced compared to double pion final states
with charged pions. In contrast to other reaction channels, the lower order
tree terms are strongly suppressed in 2 photoproduction. The consequence
is the dominance of pion loops in the 2 channel close to threshold - a
result that opens new prospects for the test of ChPT and in particular its
inherent loop terms. The present measurement is the first which is sensitive
enough for a conclusive comparison with the ChPT calculation and is in
agreement with its prediction. The data also show good agreement with a
calculation in the unitary chiral approach.Comment: Submitted to PL
Contribution of three nucleon force investigated in deuteron-proton breakup reaction
The elastic scattering and deuteron breakup data were collected in the experiment performed at KVI (Groningen) with use of unpolarized deuteron beam with energy of 80 MeV per nucleon, impinging on hydrogen target. The procedure applied to determine total integrated luminosity is presented. The result will be used for normalization of the differential cross section for the deuteron-proton breakup reaction
Chiral Symmetry and light resonances in hot and dense matter
We present a study of the scattering amplitude in the and
channels at finite temperature and nuclear density within a chiral
unitary framework. Meson resonances are dynamically generated in our approach,
which allows us to analyze the behavior of their associated scattering poles
when the system is driven towards chiral symmetry restoration. Medium effects
are incorporated in three ways: (a) by thermal corrections of the unitarized
scattering amplitudes, (b) by finite nuclear density effects associated to a
renormalization of the pion decay constant, and complementarily (c) by
extending our calculation of the scalar-isoscalar channel to account for finite
nuclear density and temperature effects in a microscopic many-body
implementation of pion dynamics. Our results are discussed in connection with
several phenomenological aspects relevant for nuclear matter and Heavy-Ion
Collision experiments, such as mass scaling vs broadening from dilepton
spectra and chiral restoration signals in the channel. We also
elaborate on the molecular nature of resonances.Comment: 14 pages, 14 figures. Contribution to Hard Probes 2008, Illa de A

An improved limit for Gamma(ee) of X(3872) and Gamma(ee) measurement of psi(3686)
Using the data sets taken at center-of-mass energies above 4 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for the reaction e(+)e(-) -> gamma(ISR) X(3872) -> gamma(ISR)pi(+)pi(-) J/psi via the Initial State Radiation technique. The production of a resonance with quantum numbers J(PC) = 1(++) such as the X(3872) via single photon e(+)e(-) annihilation is forbidden, but is allowed by a next-to-leading order box diagram. We do not observe a significant signal of X(3872), and therefore give an upper limit for the electronic width times the branching fraction Gamma B-X(3872)(ee)(X(3872) -> pi(+)pi(-) J/psi) <0.13 eVat the 90% confidence level. This measurement improves upon existing limits by a factor of 46. Using the same final state, we also measure the electronic width of the psi(3686) to be Gamma(psi)(ee)(3686) ee = 2213 +/- 18(stat) +/- 99(sys) eV. (C) 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V
Dynamical effects in proton-proton bremsstrahlung for non-coplanar geometries
The proton-proton bremsstrahlung process, including both coplanar and non-coplanar kinematics, has been measured with polarized protons of 190 MeV. High-precision cross sections and analyzing powers have been obtained. Cross sections as a function of non-coplanarity angle are presented and show large variations of dynamical origin. Non-coplanar analyzing powers have been measured for the first time and are compared to theoretical predictions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved
Charm and hidden charm scalar mesons in the nuclear medium
We study the renormalization of the properties of low lying charm and hidden
charm scalar mesons in a nuclear medium, concretely of the D_{s0}(2317) and the
theoretical hidden charm state X(3700). We find that for the D_{s0}(2317), with
negligible width at zero density, the width becomes about 100 MeV at normal
nuclear matter density, while in the case of the X(3700) the width becomes as
large as 200 MeV. We discuss the origin of this new width and trace it to
reactions occurring in the nucleus, while offering a guideline for future
experiments testing these changes. We also show how those medium modifications
will bring valuable information on the nature of the scalar resonances and the
mechanisms of the interaction of D mesons with nucleons and nuclei
