Los elementos formales y terminológicos del marco institucional romano que fueron adoptados por los senatus y magistraturas indígenas son especialmente considerados como rasgo básico de la transformación cultural experimentada por tales grupos dirigentes. Esos cambios, no impuestos radicalmente por Roma, sino paulatinamente asumidos, contribuyeron decisivamente a la formación de sociedades locales ideológicamente romanizadas, y facilitaron el progreso hacia la municipalización durante el Imperio

    Empirical study to fingerprint public malware analysis services

    The evolution of malicious software (malware) analysis tools provided controlled, isolated, and virtual environments to analyze malware samples. Several services are found on the Internet that provide to users automatic system to analyze malware samples, as VirusTotal, Jotti, or ClamAV, to name a few. Unfortunately, malware is currently incorporating techniques to recognize execution onto a virtual or sandbox environment. When analysis environment is detected, malware behave as a benign application or even show no activity. In this work, we present an empirical study and characterization of automatic public malware analysis services. In particular, we consider 26 different services. We also show a set of features that allow to easily fingerprint these services as analysis environments. Finally, we propose a method to mitigate fingerprinting

    Interactive effect of beta-adrenergic stimulation and mechanical stretch on low-frequency oscillations of ventricular action potential duration in humans

    Ventricular repolarization dynamics are crucial to arrhythmogenesis. Low-frequency oscillations of repolarization have recently been reported in humans and the magnitude of these oscillations proposed to be a strong predictor of sudden cardiac death. Available evidence suggests a role of the sympathetic nervous system. We have used biophysically detailed models integrating ventricular electrophysiology, calcium dynamics, mechanics and ß-adrenergic signaling to investigate the underlying mechanisms. The main results were: (1) Phasic beta-adrenergic stimulation (ß-AS) at a Mayer wave frequency between 0.03 and 0.15 Hz resulted in a gradual decrease of action potential (AP) duration (APD) with concomitant small APD oscillations. (2) After 3-4 minutes of phasic ß-AS, the mean APD adapted and oscillations of APD became apparent. (3) Phasic changes in haemodynamic loading at the same Mayer wave frequency (a known accompaniment of enhanced sympathetic nerve activity), simulated as variations in the sarcomere length, also induced APD oscillations. (4) The effect of phasic ß-AS and haemodynamic loading on the magnitude of APD oscillations was synergistic. (5) The presence of calcium overload and reduced repolarization reserve further enhanced the magnitude of APD oscillations and was accompanied by afterdepolarizations and/or spontaneous APs. In conclusion, low-frequency oscillations of repolarization recently reported in humans were induced by phasic ß-AS and phasic mechanical loading, which acted synergistically, and were greatly enhanced by disease-associated conditions, leading to arrhythmogenic events

    Influence of the Stimulation Current on the Differences between Cell and Tissue Electrophysiological Simulations

    This study compares stimulation waveforms for single-cell simulations. The alternatives include monophasic and biphasic current pulses, and a new waveform that resembles the transmembrane current responsible for conduction in tissue. Results indicate that the new stimulation produces the lowest mismatch between action potential markers simulated in cell and in tissue. In comparison with the monophasic stimulation, the new stimulation reduced cell-fiber differences by 99% for triangulation, by 95% for maximum transmembrane voltage, and by 76% for the maximum voltage slope. In conclusion, the new stimulation waveform could help to improve the trustworthiness of single-cell simulations in studies involving tissue-derived markers

    Beam-Ion Acceleration during Edge Localized Modes in the ASDEX Upgrade Tokamak

    The acceleration of beam ions during edge localized modes (ELMs) in a tokamak is observed for the first time through direct measurements of fast-ion losses in low collisionality plasmas. The accelerated beamion population exhibits well-localized velocity-space structures which are revealed by means of tomographic inversion of the measurement, showing energy gains of the order of tens of keV. This suggests that the ion acceleration results from a resonant interaction between the beam ions and parallel electric fields arising during the ELM. Orbit simulations are carried out to identify the mode-particle resonances responsible for the energy gain in the particle phase space. The observation motivates the incorporation of a kinetic description of fast particles in ELM models and may contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms responsible for particle acceleration, ubiquitous in astrophysical and space plasmas.H2020 Marie- Sklodowska Curie programme (Grant No. 708257)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad.     Differences in foetal topographical anatomy between insertion sites of the iliopsoas and gluteus medius muscles into the proximal femur: a consideration of femoral torsion

    Background: Prenatal twisting of the femoral neck seems to result in an angle of anteversion or torsion, but the underlying process has not been elucidated.  Materials and methods: This study analysed sagittal, frontal and horizontal sections of 34 embryo and foetal specimens of gestational age (GA) 6–16 weeks (crown-rump length 21–130 mm). At GA 6–7 weeks, the iliopsoas (IP) and gluteus medius (GME) muscles were inserted into the anterior and posterior aspects of the femur, respectively, allowing both insertions to be viewed in a single sagittal section.  Results: At GA 8 weeks, the greater trochanter and the femoral neck angle became evident, and the GME tendon was inserted into the upper tip of the trochanter. At GA 9 weeks, the location of IP insertion was to the medial side of the GME insertion. After 9 weeks, the IP insertion consisted of a wavy, tendino- us part of the psoas muscle and another part of the iliacus muscle, with many fibres of the latter muscle attached to the joint capsule. After GA 12 weeks, the IP was inserted into the anteromedial side of the greater trochanter, while the aponeurotic insertion of the GME wrapped around the trochanter. At GA 15–16 weeks, a deep flexion at the hip joint caused an alteration in the relative heights of the lesser and greater trochanter, with the former migrating from the inferior to the slightly superior side.  Conclusions: These findings indicate that twisting of the femoral neck started at GA 8–9 weeks.

    Development of digastric muscles in human foetuses: a review and findings in the flexor digitorum superficialis muscle

    The digastricus and omohyoideus muscles are digastric muscles with two muscle bellies. An insertion tendon of the posterior belly becomes an intermediate tendon in digastricus muscles, whereas a single band-like muscle in omohyoideus muscles may later be interrupted by an intermediate tendon, possibly due to muscle cell death caused by mechanical stress. In human foetuses, an intermediate tendon provides the temporal origins of the tensor veli palatini and tensor tympani muscles. Some reptiles, including snakes, carry multiple series of digastric-like axial muscles, in which each intersegmental septum is likely to become an intermediate tendon. These findings indicate that many pathways are involved in the development of digastric muscles. A review of these morphologies suggested that the flexor digi­torum superficialis (FDS) muscle was a digastric muscle, although the intermediate tendon may not be visible in the surface view in adults. The present observations support the hypothesis that the proximal anlage at the elbow develops into a deep muscle slip to a limited finger, while the distal anlage at the wrist develops into the other slips. The findings suggest that, in the FDS muscle, the proximal and distal bellies of the embryonic digastric muscle fuse together to form a laminar structure, in which muscle slips accumulate from the palmar to the deep side of the forearm.
