Bialoruska autokefaliczna cerkiew prawoslawna na emigracji i udzial w jej dzialalnosci duchowienstwa ukrainskiego (Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in exile and participation in its activity of the Ukrainian clergy )
Jej parafie istniały w krajach Europy Zachodniej, obu Ameryk i
Australii.
After World War II, in the West was a number of Belarusians. Thanks to Belarusian emigrants in 1948,
in Germany came to a reactivation of the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Its parishes were
in Western Europe, America and Australia. A substantial share in both reactivation as well as further
activities of the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church took Ukrainian clergy. First of all, Bishop
Sergij (Ochotenko) was actively involved to actions for the Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church
with whose activity is assessed very differently in the available literature
Effects of drip irrigation on the yield of strawberry plants grown under arable conditions
ArticleThe study investigated the effects of drip irrigation on the yield of ‘Honeoye’
strawberry plants for commercial purposes grown under arable conditions throughout the harvest
season. The plants were irrigated at irregular intervals depending on natural precipitation. Crop
yields and fruit parameters (diameter, length, individual weight, count per plant) were compared
on several harvest dates. Statistical analysis has shown that irrigation has a significant impact on
yield and fruit parameters. The irrigated plants yielded more strawberries, which also had a larger
diameter, length, and individual weight
Counteracting Social Exclusion of People with Motor Dysfunctions through Physical Culture- Opinions of People with and without Physical Disabilities
In the years 2010-2012, the research survey was carried out on 480 people with or without physical disabilities. The aim of the research was to obtain information on attitudes and opinions of people with physical disabilities towards the possibility of reducing social marginalization through participation in physical culture. The research confirmed that the respondents’ attitudes towards participation of those people in physical culture were, in majority, positive. Participants of the research expressed the opinion that the feeling of marginalization of physically disabled persons would not have been so strong if there had been the possibility of an active participation in sport, recreation and tourism as well as in active rehabilitation. The possibilities of an active participation in physical activity should be inexpensive and widely accessible regardless of the year season and with providing volunteer assistance and transport facilitations
Clinical and neuropathological picture of familial encephalopathy with bifunctional protein deficiency
Peroxisomal diseases are a heterogeneous group of genetic metabolic disorders which are caused by incorrect
biogenesis of peroxisomes or a defect in activity of particular enzymes located in those organelles.
D-bifunctional protein (D-BP) deficiency belongs to the second group of peroxisomal diseases characterised by
dysfunction of a single peroxisomal enzyme. Bifunctional protein is a catalyst in the second and third stage of the
\beta-oxidation of fatty acids. Gene locus of bifunctional protein deficiency comprises chromosomes 5q2 and 3p23-p22.
The authors present two siblings with progressing family encephalopathy. In the younger brother the diagnosis of
a bifunctional protein deficiency was made. The girl died before a diagnosis was made; however, due to the presence
of a very similar clinical condition a suspicion arises that the girl had a peroxisomal disease. In the siblings were
ascertained characteristic dysmorphic features, delayed psychomotor development, polymorphic epileptic seizures
and generalized muscular hypotonia with areflexia.
The neuropathological findings were consistent in general with MRI findings showing features of hypomyelination.
Also neuron heterotopias that were found in autopsy are a form of pathology typical for D-BP
Hairpin structure within the 3′UTR of DNA polymerase β mRNA acts as a post-transcriptional regulatory element and interacts with Hax-1
Aberrant expression of DNA polymerase β, a key enzyme involved in base excision repair, leads to genetic instability and carcinogenesis. Pol β expression has been previously shown to be regulated at the level of transcription, but there is also evidence of post-transcriptional regulation, since rat transcripts undergo alternative polyadenylation, and the resulting 3′UTR contain at least one regulatory element. Data presented here indicate that RNA of the short 3′UTR folds to form a strong secondary structure (hairpin). Its regulatory role was established utilizing a luciferase-based reporter system. Further studies led to the identification of a protein factor, which binds to this element—the anti-apoptotic, cytoskeleton-related protein Hax-1. The results of in vitro binding analysis indicate that the formation of the RNA–protein complex is significantly impaired by disruption of the hairpin motif. We demonstrate that Hax-1 binds to Pol β mRNA exclusively in the form of a dimer. Biochemical analysis revealed the presence of Hax-1 in mitochondria, but also in the nuclear matrix, which, along with its transcript-binding properties, suggests that Hax-1 plays a role in post-transcriptional regulation of expression of Pol β
Molecular dynamics and physical stability of amorphous nimesulide drug and its binary drug-polymer systems
yesIn this paper we study the effectiveness of three well known polymers: inulin, Soluplus and PVP in stabilizing amorphous form of nimesulide (NMS) drug. The re-crystallization tendency of pure drug as well as measured drug-polymer systems were examined at isothermal conditions by using broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BDS), and at non-isothermal conditions by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Our investigation has shown that the crystallization half-life time of pure NMS at 328 K is equal to 33 minutes. We found that this time can be prolonged to 40 years after adding to NMS 20% of PVP polymer. This polymer proved to be the best NMS’s stabilizer, while the worst stabilization effect was found after adding the inulin to NMS. Additionally, our DSC, BDS and FTIR studies indicate that for suppression of NMS’s re-crystallization in NMS-PVP system, the two mechanisms are responsible: the polymeric steric hindrances as well as the antiplastization effect excerted by the excipient. The authors J.K., Z.W., K.G. and M.P., are grateful for the financial support received within the Project No. 2015/16/W/NZ7/00404 (SYMFONIA 3) from the National Science Centre, Poland.
