Implementación de un sistema de gestión de personal orientado a la mejora continua de los procesos de producción en una fábrica de alimentos

    Get PDF

In this work, we sought to obtain a drink based on Amaranthus hypochondriacus L. seeds, highlighting the bromatological/nutritional and organoleptic properties (taste, aroma and appearance). Thus, develop a drink that combines the benefits this seeds with a liquid medium, resulting a naturally free gluten and lactose drink, inexpensive, easy to prepare, without synthetic additives aiming to contribute to food security, in terms of the provision of quality food, while causing a positive impact on the adult population, therefore, improving their quality of life from the nutritional, economic and social point of view. The nutritional composition, stability (pH and titratable acidity were evaluated using A.O.A.C Methodologies of. The acceptability of the product was carried out by means of an adapted panel (50 untrained judges). Data on organoleptic characteristics were collected. The established acceptance criteria were equal to or greater than 80%. The results showed a nutritional value of 8.5g of carbohydrates, 3.1g of protein, 0.4g of fat, and 0.25g of fiber for a daily serving of 200ml. Regarding storage stability (10 days, 5 ° C), the pH values varied 5.70 - 4.05, the titratable acidity showed increases from its initial value between 1.10 - 1.61 g citric acid / l of drink. We can conclude that the amaranth-based drink presented a good nutritional contribution, good stability at refrigeration temperature, a pleasant taste and a slightly vegetal smell, reflecting a positive appreciation of 92%.The appropriate sensory attributes reflecting a positive appreciation of this beverage by consumers. Keywords: nutrition, stability, acceptability, hydration

The Involvement of Neuroinflammation and Kynurenine Pathway in Parkinson's Disease

    Get PDF
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder characterised by loss of dopaminergic neurons and localized neuroinflammation occurring in the midbrain several years before the actual onset of symptoms. Activated microglia themselves release a large number of inflammatory mediators thus perpetuating neuroinflammation and neurotoxicity. The Kynurenine pathway (KP), the main catabolic pathway for tryptophan, is one of the major regulators of the immune response and may also be implicated in the inflammatory response in parkinsonism. The KP generates several neuroactive compounds and therefore has either a neurotoxic or neuroprotective effect. Several of these molecules produced by microglia can activate the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor-signalling pathway, leading to an excitotoxic response. Previous studies have shown that NMDA antagonists can ease symptoms and exert a neuroprotective effect in PD both in vivo and in vitro. There are to date several lines of evidence linking some of the KP intermediates and the neuropathogenesis of PD. Moreover, it is likely that pharmacological modulation of the KP will represent a new therapeutic strategy for PD

Theoretical study of the chemiluminescence of the Al + H2O reaction

    Get PDF
We performed surface hopping simulations of Al + H2O collisions by a direct semiempirical method, reproducing the conditions of previous beam-gas experiments. We observed the formation of the HAlOH species, that dissociates to AlOH + H after a lifetime of about 0.6 ps. This species undergoes nonadiabatic transitions to its first excited state and is responsible for chemiluminescence in the visible range, while the Al−H2O complex emits in the infrared. The computed emission band in the visible is red-shifted with respect to the experimental one, because of slight inaccuracies of the potential energy surfaces. However, collisions with more water molecules and exciplex formation with excited Al(2S, 4P) atoms may also contribute to the short wavelength emission, as we show by accurate ab initio calculations

Plasma induced reactive oxygen species-dependent cytotoxicity in glioblastoma 3D tumourspheres

    Get PDF
The aim of this study was to determine the effects of a pin‐to‐plate cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) on U‐251 MG three‐dimensional (3D) glioblastoma spheroids under different conditions. 3D tumorspheres showed higher resistance to the CAP treatment compared to 2D monolayer cells. A single CAP treatment was able to induce cytotoxicity, while multiple CAP treatments augmented this effect. CAP was also able to induce cytotoxicity throughout the tumoursphere, and we identified that reactive oxygen species(ROS) plays a major role, while H2O2plays a partial role in CAP‐induced cytotoxicity in tumour-spheres. We conclude that ROS‐dependent cytotoxicity is induced uniformly throughout glioblastoma and epidermoid tumourspheres by direct CAP treatment

A case of solitary spinal osteochondroma growing from the left L4 lamina, close to the facet joint, is presented. The tumor produced a stenosis of the left lateral recess and the patient suffered from low-back and sciatic pain. Symptomatic spinal osteochondroma is a rare beningn tumor, surgical removal being the most useful treatment

Naltrexone Reverses Ethanol-Induced Rat Hippocampal and Serum Oxidative Damage

Naltrexone, an antagonist of -opioid receptors, is clinically used as adjuvant therapy of alcohol dishabituation. The aim of the present work was to test the effect of 1 mg/kg body weight of naltrexone to revert oxidative stress-related biochemical alterations, in the hippocampus and serum of chronic alcoholic adult rats. Malondialdehyde concentration was increased and glutathione peroxidase activity was decreased in hippocampus and serum of alcohol-treated rats. Naltrexone treatment restored these alterations. The in vitro antioxidant ability of Ntx could not justify these effects considering the doses used. Thus this apparent protective effect of Ntx can only be attributed to its pharmacological effects, as herein discussed.Ministerio de Educacion y Ciencia SAF2010-21317 Universidad Catolica de Valencia "San Vicente Martir" 2012-029-001 Plan Nacional sobre Drogas 2010/059 AI/ICB-Santander 07/1
