A integração produtiva entre agropecuária e agroindústria: uma discussão introdutória em torno da suinocultura

This article deals about the historic process of the existent productive articulation between primary production and the industry that processes agribusiness products, focusing, especially, in the integration system that exists between pig breeders and the pig slaughter industry in south Brazil. A diversity of motivations and behaviors between the participants is identified as an explanation to the success of this productive and commercial relationship. It is questioned if the computerized management of the information related to the pig breeding will lead to a behavioral change by the pig breeders and, to the extinction of this kind of relation or, if on the contrary, this is just another technical and organizational evolution which reinforces the control on the production flux and on the quality of the agribusiness products by the industry and by retail.O artigo trata do processo histórico de articulação produtiva entre produção primária e indústria processadora de produtos agropecuários, focalizando em específico o sistema de integração entre suinocultores e agroindústria de abate de suínos no sul do Brasil. Uma diversidade de motivações e de comportamento entre os participantes é identificada como explicação para o sucesso desta relação produtiva e comercial. Questiona-se se o gerenciamento computadorizado de informações relativas à criação dos suínos levará a uma modificação comportamental dos suinocultores, e à extinção deste tipo de relação, ou se, pelo contrário, é apenas mais uma evolução técnica e organizacional que reforça o controle sobre o fluxo de produção e sobre a qualidade dos produtos por parte da indústria e do varejo

The relationship between price and quality: a methodological contribution using fuzzy logic

The article presents a methodological contribution to the study of the relation between price and quality of goods. An empirical exercise is performed for a food product. Fuzzy sets theory is used to analyze the relationship between quality and price of products, exploring variants of the consumer's perspective to capture a) the relevance of qualitative characteristics for the establishment of the price to be paid and, alternatively, b) the price relevance as a quality flag. This method approximates the mathematical formalization to consumer manifestation, reducing the necessity for theoretical assumptions inherent to the organization of information through infinitesimal variation techniques. The result of the exercise signals that the price is an indicator of the quality of the merchandises, especially when the quality becomes poor in the perception of the consumers

Women, work and technology: The participation of female workforce in the Mexican insertion into Global Value Chains.

This paper intends to expand the approaches of Global Value Chains (GVCs) for the Third World, intersecting gender analysis with debates about the economic and technological power structures that are basic to these chains. The general objective of the work is to verify how gender dynamics intersect with economic dynamics in GVCs, and also understand how these dynamics are related and self-reinforcing, with emphasis on how it worked in Mexico’s Maquiladoras. For this, it’s realized a case study of the changes and dynamics of female participation in the Maquiladora Export Industry in Mexico, analyzing the dynamics and changes in the composition of the female workforce in the sector during the period from 1980 to 2010Este artigo aborda a questão de gênero na constituição de Cadeias Globais de Valor (CGVs) para o Terceiro Mundo, interseccionando a análise de gênero aos debates a respeito de poder econômico e tecnológico que são basilares a estas cadeias. O presente trabalho objetiva encontrar, através da pesquisa bibliométrica e da Análise de Conteúdo, pontos de diálogo entre as teorias feministas e outras tradições teóricas, buscando maneiras de aproximar e fomentar o diálogo entre estas. Para isto, retoma-se a gênese dos estudos em economia feminista, para estabelecer as inspirações teóricas fundamentais para a economia feminista e mapear com quais tradições houve proximidade e de que forma se deu esta conexão. Inovação em produtos agroalimentares: uma avaliação das mudanças qualitativas no suíno utilizando conjuntos fuzzy

Using fuzzy sets theory, this article aims at analyzing the change onswine productivity and on quality of the pork in its carcass as time passes, aswell as identifies changes in the evaluative referential of productivity and qualityof these products. The belief is that the technological innovations is not infinite orrandom but, it is linked to the trade-offs in technological procedures followed inthe swine genetics and in the other components of the pork technological system.Utilizando-se da teoria dos conjuntos fuzzy, este artigo analisa amudança no tempo da produtividade nos porcos e de qualidade da carne nasua carcaça, bem como identifica as alterações nos referenciais de avaliaçãode produtividade e de qualidade desses produtos. O agronegócio de leite de ovinos e caprinos

The article presents the outlines of a nascent manufacturing sector in Brazil and very poorly described and analyzed, the sheep and goat milk. Identifies the current pattern of competition among institutional environment itself to the segment - an unusual procedure in studies of animal husbandry and processing of dairy sheep and goats - and the chances for passing the same strategies in the industry. There is a relatively low supply of sheep and goat milk in total milk production in Brazil and prospects for growth in cheese consumption to stimulate its increase. In addition, it is estimated the potential supply of sheep milk in the South, West Frontier and Campaign regions of Rio Grande do Sul. Key words: ovine; caprine; milk. Identifica-se o padrão de concorrência vigente em meio ao ambiente institucional próprio ao segmento — procedimento incomum nos estudos da criação animal e do beneficiamento de leite ovino e caprino —, bem como as possibilidades de repercussão do mesmo nas estratégias da indústria. Verifica-se uma oferta relativamente baixa de leite ovino e caprino dentro produção total de leites no Brasil e uma perspectiva de crescimento do consumo de queijo que estimule o seu incremento. VIABILIDADE ECONÔMICA DE UM SISTEMA DE TERMINAÇÃO DE CORDEIROS EM CONFINAMENTO NA REGIÃO DA CAMPANHA/RS

http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/223611708818The study was conducted between March and June in a particular property of a member of the Association of Sheep Breeders of Dom Pedrito (ACODOPE). Sample consisted of 60 lambs, 50 animals and 10 Corriedale breed Texel, all barrows, milk tooth, with five to seven months old. Was sought throughout the experiment to assess the cost and profitability of a lambs finishing system. The animals were weighed throughout the experiment for the control of weight gain. To achieve the exact results of the production were evaluated and represented all the costs of implementation and operation of confinement as: Fixed Costs, Variable Costs and Cost of acquisition of animals. It was observed that the animals Texel lot remained less time to reach slaughter weight, therefore the cost of producing them was inferior to the other. Still had a loss of R$0.69 per kg bodyweight. Negative results were found in another two lots, the lot with Organic Phosphorus application associated with Vitamin B12 (FOB12) posted a loss of R$ 1.77 per kg bodyweight, and lot of animals without applying FOB12, R$0.75 per kg bodyweight. These results have made the termination system feedlot lambs, tested in this trial, uneconomical.http://dx.doi.org/10.5902/223611708818O trabalho foi desenvolvido entre os meses de março e junho, na propriedade particular de um membro da Associação de Criadores de Ovinos de Dom Pedrito (ACODOPE). Foram avaliados 60 cordeiros, 50 animais da raça Corriedale e 10 da raça Texel, todos machos castrados, dente de leite, com cinco a sete meses de idade. Buscou-se no decorrer do experimento avaliar o custo de implantação de um sistema de confinamento e sua lucratividade. Os animais foram pesados ao longo do experimento para o controle do ganho de peso. Para atingir os resultados exatos da produção, foram avaliados e representados todos os custos de implantação e funcionamento do confinamento como: Custos Fixos, Custos Variáveis e o Custo de aquisição dos animais. Foi observado que o os animais do lote Texel permaneceram menos tempo para atingir o peso de abate, conseqüentemente o custo de produção dos mesmos foi inferior aos demais. Mesmo assim apresentaram um prejuízo de R$ 0,69 por Kg de peso vivo. Resultados negativos foram encontrados nos outro dois lotes, sendo que o lote com aplicação de Fósforo Orgânico associado a Vitamina B12 (FOB12) apresentou um prejuízo de R$1,77 por Kg de peso vivo, e o lote dos animais sem aplicação de FOB12, R$ 0,75 por Kg de peso vivo. Tais resultados tornaram o sistema de terminação de cordeiros em confinamento, testado nesta experimentação, inviável economicamente
