Innovation has been an important word in business in recent years. Associated with a number of highly profitable business models, gives entrepreneurs a challenge that goes beyond the definition of “promoting something new”. Continuous innovation - with positive results, relevant social impact and opportunities and balancing risks - is one of the great challenges of all sectors and dimensions. Encouraged by many examples of American success, globalization and post-industrialization, many young people ventured into the business world, developing content based on technology. Startups are one of these models, because they have unique characteristics when compared to traditional micro and small companies. Its condition of existence is innovation, however, however much a startup has a revolutionary idea, it is no guarantee of sustainable success.La innovación ha sido una palabra importante en los negocios en los últimos años. This article addresses innovation, entrepreneurship and design management, aiming to investigate how it could contribute to the maintenance of the innovative character of startup companies. A brief survey was made on the importance of design in organizations. The timeline with the main developments from the 1950s to the present day, revealed that design has been strengthened as an entrepreneurial and strategic character. Subsequently, the Brazilian startup scenario was structured, analyzing the context in which they are inserted, as well as their management paradigms, which culminated in the search for information about design management and its role for the innovation of organizations. As a result, the theoretical studies allowed the elaboration of a model with five processes: Design for innovation strategies; Design for idea generation; Design for concept creation; Project to represent the company; and Design as an integrator

[EN] This article explains the concepts of city and urban practices - phenomena of human activity into the urbanity - that directly influence the life of the people, your own inhabits and customs, becoming the city the image from your own habitants. It is vitally important for the study understand the urbanity relation to the design of cities, as a complement of the public space, one of the ways that interferes at the urban landscape. We can understand how society is shown in front of herself and the world itself that surrounds it, and what are the devices that make city living when are connected - through uses and customs - vital forces of individuals and their communities at the space with some practices created by the tactics of the inhabitants to allow its ambiance, wellness, safety and comfort, sensations often perceived by the set of elements that constitute the cities. The city spaces are perceived through symbols and signs that are manifested through equipment, furniture, buildings, streets, squares, signage and parking lots that make up the identity of the place. Usually this identity is described by the image that people have of the place, of the resident population habits, social resentações and produced interventions. The city is more than a jumble of individual men and social conveniences, it is something more than a mere constellation of institutions and administrative provisions. The city is a state of mind, a body of customs, traditions, feelings and attitudes inherent organized the vital processes of the people who compose it. The city is a product of nature, especially of human nature. Urban space is a form of unconscious rationalization (individual and collective), disguised in the visibility of their urban layouts, buildings and monuments, which can be mistaken, suppressing critical reflection and self-criticism of inhabitants or social groups. Cities must offer good living spaces, leisure, integration and culture so that everyone can exercise the right to collective use, living on the street or in the park with the family, revaluing the humanase relations improving the quality of life of its residents. We identify with the places as we recognize its importance and representing a local or global identity.Arruda, A.; Balestra, R.; Bezerra, P.; Moroni, I. (2016). In a context of high competitiveness and shortage of resources, creating sustainable business models is crucial for organizations that seek to stand out and have longevity in the market. Such an ideal must be present in everything that involves the company, including its processes and products. This article aims to reflect on the power of adopting the Strategic Design approach in the creation and application of business models based on local products – which are important engines for the economic development of their regions. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out and a case study was analyzed. Strategic Design, as a project approach that aims to design Product-Service Systems based on sustainability and aligned to a well-defined organizational strategy, has presented itself as a resource with high potential to assist in the consolidation of sustainable business models and their application in everything that an organization aims to do and communicate

BackgroundThere is a major need for information on pharmacokinetics (PK) of benznidazole (BNZ) in children with Chagas disease (CD). We conducted a multicentre population PK, safety and efficacy study in children, infants and neonates with CD treated with BNZ (formulated in 100 mg tablets or 12.5 mg dispersible tablets, developed by the pharmaceutical company LAFEPE, in a collaboration with DNDi).Methods81 children 0-12 years old were enrolled at 5 pediatric centers in Argentina. Diagnosis of T. cruzi infection was confirmed by direct microscopic examination, or at least two positive conventional serological tests. Subject enrolment was stratified by age: newborns to 2 years (minimum of 10 newborns) and >2-12 years. BNZ 7.5 mg/kg/d was administered in two daily doses for 60 days. Five blood samples per child were obtained at random times within pre-defined time windows at Day 0 at 2-5 h post-dose; during steady state, one sample at Day 7 and at Day 30; and two samples at 12-24 h after final BNZ dose at Day 60. The primary efficacy endpoint was parasitological clearance by qualitative PCR at the end of treatment.ResultsForty-one (51%) patients were under 2 years of age (including 14 newborns ConclusionWe observed lower BNZ plasma concentrations in infants and children than those previously reported in adults treated with comparable mg/kg doses. Despite these lower concentrations, pediatric treatment was well tolerated and universally effective, with a high response rate and infrequent, mild AEs.Trial registrationRegistered in clinicaltrials.gov #NCT01549236

Search for CPCP violation in D0^0\to KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S} decays in proton-proton collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV

International audienceA search is reported for charge-parity D0^0\to KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S}CPCP violation in D0^0\to KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S} decays, using data collected in proton-proton collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment in 2018. The analysis uses a dedicated data set that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 41.6 fb1^{-1}, which consists of about 10 billion events containing a pair of ẖadrons, nearly all of which decay to charm hadrons. The flavor of the neutral D meson is determined by the pion charge in the reconstructed decays D+^{*+}\to D0π+^0\pi^+ and D^{*-}\to D0π^0\pi^-. The D0^0\to KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S}CPCP asymmetry in D0^0\to KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S} is measured to be ACPA_{CP}( KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S}) = (6.2 ±\pm 3.0 ±\pm 0.2 ±\pm 0.8)%, where the three uncertainties represent the statistical uncertainty, the systematic uncertainty, and the uncertainty in the measurement of the D0^0 \to KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S} CPCP asymmetry in the D0^0 \to KS0π+π^0_\mathrm{S}\pi^+\pi^- decay. This is the first D0^0 \to KS0^0_\mathrm{S}KS0^0_\mathrm{S} CPCP asymmetry measurement by CMS in the charm sector as well as the first to utilize a fully hadronic final state

The CMS Statistical Analysis and Combination Tool: COMBINE

    No full text
International audienceThis paper describes the COMBINE software package used for statistical analyses by the CMS Collaboration. The package, originally designed to perform searches for a Higgs boson and the combined analysis of those searches, has evolved to become the statistical analysis tool presently used in the majority of measurements and searches performed by the CMS Collaboration. It is not specific to the CMS experiment, and this paper is intended to serve as a reference for users outside of the CMS Collaboration, providing an outline of the most salient features and capabilities. Readers are provided with the possibility to run COMBINE and reproduce examples provided in this paper using a publicly available container image. Since the package is constantly evolving to meet the demands of ever-increasing data sets and analysis sophistication, this paper cannot cover all details of COMBINE. However, the online documentation referenced within this paper provides an up-to-date and complete user guide
