    Organizational interactions in global energy governance

    This chapter explores inter-organizational relations in the field of global energy governance. It starts by mapping the policy field of energy governance, the existing literature, and the multilateral energy architecture. It then performs an organization-set analysis of the International Energy Agency (IEA), which is widely regarded as the most advanced multilateral energy organization. More precisely, it presents an overview of the IEA’s interactions with four other energy-related international organizations: the Organization of Petroleum-Exporting Countries, the Energy Charter Treaty, the Group of Eight/Group of Twenty, and the International Renewable Energy Agency. It finds that these dyadic relationships have evolved quite dramatically over the years and points out some of the salient factors that drive these relationships, before suggesting some avenues for future research

The specific objective of the district energy applications subproject was to demonstrate solar and wind energy systems in a rural village setting.     This study aims to determine the impact of the energy transition including consumption of new renewable energy, consumption of fossil energy and production of new and renewable energy on gross domestic product in Indonesia. The data in this research study is secondary data with a period of 20 years, between 2000 and 2019 which was obtained from the International Energy Agency (IEA), International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Asian Development Bank (ADB), and several scientific journals. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression with the assumption of BLUE (Best Linear Unbiased Estimate). The results obtained that the consumption of new and renewable energy has a positive relationship but does not have a significant effect on gross domestic product in Indonesia, while the consumption of fossil energy and also the production of new and renewable energy has a positive relationship and has a significant effect on gross domestic product in Indonesia

    The thesis aims to form a compelling argument for the significant impact of the energy crisis on the financing and implementation of renewable energy sources. By exploring various policies and reports, the thesis seeks to shed light on the role played by the energy crisis in spurring the accelerated adoption of renewable energy technologies. The examining of policies such as the Inflation Reduction Act in the United States, the “Fit for 55” package, Green Deal and REPowerEU in Europe, and ambitious energy targets set worldwide, contribute to the assertion that the energy crisis created an urgency for governments to take action towards clean energy sources. The research in this thesis draws upon comprehensive publications such as the World Energy Outlook by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and reports by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in addition to an array of publications. The findings in the research based on a range of perspectives and sources strengthen the thesis’ argument, and offer insight into the funding, implementation and governmental actions accelerating the shift towards renewable energy technologies

    This research will explain about Indonesia interest joined with IRENA ( International Renewable Energy Agency). Nowadays energy condition is so far from standart of energy endurance. Indonesia energy needs still dominated by fossil energy. In 2013, Fossil Energy produces 93,4% of energy consumtion, 5,7% by renewable energy. 7% oil, 20,1% gas, 24,5% from coal. With Indonesia energy endurance and global market that affected domestic energy condition, Indonesia need to comply the national interest about energy endurance an as an active role actor in international relation.This research using realism perspective from international relation study with supporting theory is the national interest from Morgenthau. This research using nation-state as analysis level that analize Indonesia policy about its relation between other state. This research is based on fact, data, argument and theoretical analize with qualitative-explanative method.This research answering the question about hypotesys that Indonesia interest is developing renewable energy, human resource empowerment, exploration, exploitation, and managing resource of renewable energy, and Indonesia count on investment excalation of renewable energy sector.Accomplishing this interest Indonesia takes a policy to joined IRENA, because IRENA facilitate every member state that joined IRENA in renewable energy sector.Keyword: Energy Endurance, Fossil Energy Crissis , IRENA, National Interest, Renewable Energy

    This fact sheet focuses on employment in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors in the United States and around the world. According to the 2019 U.S. Energy Employment Report (USEER), 611,000 people worked in zero-emission technology industries, including renewables and nuclear in the United States. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) recorded even higher renewable energy employment in the United States at 855,000 direct and indirect jobs in 2018. Jobs in energy efficiency experienced significant growth—the sector now employs more than 3 million people in the United States. IRENA reports that, globally, the renewable energy sector employed 11 million people in 2018, 700,000 more than in 2017

    Efficiency of Developing Renewable Energy Market in Russia

    The goal of this study is to systematize and provide a quantitative and qualitative assessment of potential positive economic and non-economic effects of the implementation of a new mechanism for supporting renewable energy in Russia. It should result in achieving the national medium-term objective to increase the share of renewable energy in the wholesale electricity and capacity market to 2.5 % by 2024. The introduction examines the mechanism for supporting the generators of renewable energy by capacity charge in the wholesale electricity and capacity market. It is assumed that the main positive effects from implementing this mechanism will be the replacement of hydrocarbon fuels burned for generating the electricity in traditional coal or gas power plants; improvement in the trade balance; multiplier effects from the development of RES in related industrial sectors, new value added and jobs in the sectors producing the generating and auxiliary equipment for generators; reduction of carbon dioxide emissions; decrease in average prices in the wholesale electricity market; reduction of expenditure on environmental activities and measures to protect the health in the territories with traditional power plants; additional scal charges. As a result, the quantification of these effects amounts to 47.77 billion rubles in 2024.
