    Anomalous population of 10^{10}He states in reactions with 11^{11}Li

    Structure with the lowest energy observed in the 10^{10}He spectrum populated in the proton knockout reaction with 11^{11}Li beam has a peak at 1.21.51.2-1.5 MeV. This peak is usually interpreted as a resonant 0+0^+ ground state of 10^{10}He. Our theoretical calculations indicate that this peak is likely to be a pileup of 11^-, 0+0^+, and 2+2^+ excitations with very similar shapes. %We predict a very specific nature of the 11^- excitation in 10^{10}He. Moreover, the ``soft'' 11^- excitation appears to be the lowest one in energy. Such an anomalous continuum response is traced to the halo structure of 11^{11}Li providing extreme low energy shift to all the expected continuum excitations. Competitions of the initial state structure (ISS) and the final state interaction (FSI) effects on the spectrum and three-body correlations in 10^{10}He are discussed. Analogous effect of the extreme low-energy shift could also be expected in other cases of 2n2n emitters populated in reactions with halo nuclei. Simplified example of the 10^{10}He spectrum in α\alpha knockout from 14^{14}Be, is given. We also discuss limits on the properties of 9^{9}He stemming from the observed 10^{10}He spectrum.Comment: 10 pages, 13 figure

    Updated analysis of NN elastic scattering to 3 GeV

    A partial-wave analysis of NN elastic scattering data has been updated to include a number of recent measurements. Experiments carried out at the Cooler Synchrotron (COSY) by the EDDA Collaboration have had a significant impact above 1 GeV.     Phytoplankton of the delta of the Mekong River during the dry season

    Human activity has disturbed the functioning of river ecosystems all around the globe. The current global climatic fluctuations and local anthropogenic impact lead to rearrangement in the structure and functioning of aquatic communities. One of the most important components of aquatic ecosystems is phytoplankton as the main primary producer of the organic matter, the basis for trophic relations and indicator of changes in the environment. This article presents the first results of a study concerning the peculiarities of quantitative distribution of biomass and species composition of phytoplankton in the delta of the Mekong River at the beginning of the dry season (December of 2018). Diatoms dominated according to biomass practically in all the stations of selection of samples. The total biomass of phytoplankton on average accounted for 0.049 ± 0.007 mg/L at the abundance of 40 ± 7 103 ind./L. In practically all the studied plots, according to biomass, the dominating diatoms were first of all Aulacoseira granulata, A. islandica, Cyclotella meneghiniana, Cyclotella spp., and Oxyneis binalis. Among Chlorophyta, most often we found Chlorella sp. and Scenedesmus quadricauda, but their biomass was insignificant. We determined statistically significant correlation relationships between biomass of phytoplankton and hydrological parameters. Based on the Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, we determined negative relations between the total biomass of phytoplankton with salinity and pH. Positive correlation was seen between the biomass of diatoms and turbidity, and also between the temperature and the biomass of chlorophytes and Dinophyta. The biomass of golden algae (Chrysophyceae) and Dinophyta positively correlated with the mineralization. Quantitative regression analysis confirmed the close relationship between the total biomass of phytoplankton, hydrophysical and hydrochemical parameters. Besides the importance of scientific data on biological diversity and ecology of plankton algae, the results we obtained are necessary for organizing biological monitoring in the delta of the Mekong River in the future

    Hadronic Regge Trajectories: Problems and Approaches

    We scrutinized hadronic Regge trajectories in a framework of two different models --- string and potential. Our results are compared with broad spectrum of existing theoretical quark models and all experimental data from PDG98. It was recognized that Regge trajectories for mesons and baryons are not straight and parallel lines in general in the current resonance region both experimentally and theoretically, but very often have appreciable curvature, which is flavor-dependent. For a set of baryon Regge trajectories this fact is well described in the considered potential model.     Particular features of interrelation of motivation, values and sense of life’s meaning as subjective factors of individualizing trajectory in the system of continuous education

    The relevance of the problem under study is based on the fact that, as regards methodological and theoretical aspects, the problem of value and motivational sphere is poorly elaborated regarding the interrelation between professional education and professional activity and on the empirical level there is no clear understanding of how the sense of purpose of life and own professional values is related to the professional motivation. The aim of the article is to identify the specific features of the interrelation and effects of meaning of life to the professional values and motivation. The leading method of research is questionnaire method which makes it possible to identify the following: level of sense of life’s purpose – method of life-meaning orientations, specific features of professional motivation – method “Motivation of professional activity” and method “Level of correlation between value and availability of value”. The article presents and discusses the results of empirical study of the interrelation between professional values, professional motivation and life-meaning orientations, as well as the effects of the level of life’s meaning on professional motivation. The practical value is the possibility to use the results of the research in developing programs for correcting and increasing professional motivation, as well as for developing technologies of psychology-pedagogical assistance to sense-making and professional self-identification in projecting and implementing individual educational trajectories in the continuous vocational education system.     The relationship of time perspective and subjective perceptions of students as the empirical base for individualization of the educational path

    The significance of the investigated problem is stipulated by the need in practicing individualization of vocational educational process in the continuing education and lack of scientific and methodological support of its accompaniment. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the subjective perceptions and temporal perspective as the empirical bases of individualization of vocational and educational process. The leading method of research of this problem is a questionnaire that allows to identify the level of demonstration time perspectives (adapted technique ZTPI) and differentiate subjective judgments about the system of vocational education, professional self-determination process (questionnaire). The results of empirical study of time perspective, the subjective perception of vocational education and retrospective-prospective (forward-looking) aspects of professional self-determination, as well as their relationship with students are presented and discussed in the article. The results can be taken into account in the scientific and methodological support of individualization of vocational and educational process and in applied methods of formation of individual educational paths in vocational education. © 2016 Zavodchikov et al

    Minigap, Parity Effect and Persistent Currents in SNS Nanorings

    We have evaluated a proximity-induced minigap in the density of states (DOS) of SNS junctions and SNS nanorings at an arbitrary concentration of non-magnetic impurities. We have demonstrated that an isotropic energy minigap in the electron spectrum opens up already at arbitrarily weak disorder, while angle resolved DOS at higher energies can remain strongly anisotropic. The minigap value ϵg\epsilon_g can be tuned by passing a supercurrent through an SNS junction or by applying a magnetic flux Φ\Phi to an SNS ring. A non-monotonous dependence of ϵg\epsilon_g on Φ\Phi has been found at weak disorder. We have also studied persistent currents in isolated SNS nanorings. For odd number of electrons in the ring we have found a non-trivial current-phase (current-flux) relation which -- at relatively high disorder -- may lead to a π\pi-junction state and spontaneous currents in the ground state of the system.Comment: 7 pages, 8 figure

    У статті підкреслено значення залізничного транспорту для економічного, соціального та культурного розвитку регіону. Вивчено головні проблеми розбудови Придніпровської залізниці у міжвоєнний період. До таких слід віднести неспроможність повною мірою забезпечити перевезення усіх промислових вантажів і велику аварійність через поганий стан колійного господарства, застарілість і несправність паровозів і вагонів, слабкість матеріально­технічної бази та нестачу кваліфікованих кадрів.Розглянуто заходи радянської влади спрямовані на оптимізацію роботи залізниці. Від 1935 року активізувався процес її реконструювання, було частково оновлено паровозний і вагонний парки, механізовано ряд вантажно­розвантажувальних робіт, розширено залізничні вузли, збудовано нові мости, сортувальні станції, паровозні депо і вагоноремонтні пункти, прокладено кілометри колій. Вдалося покращити основні показники роботи залізниці.В статті виокремлено методи, які застосовувалися комуністичною партією і урядом задля пришвидшення і підвищення якості роботи залізничників: моральне стимулювання, розгортання соціалістичного змагання передовиків і новаторів, схвалення стахановсько­кривоносівського руху, а також матеріальне заохочення працівників, підвищення заробітної плати, преміювання кращих трудових колективів. За матеріалами газети «Стальная магістраль» авторами статті зафіксовано наявність таких недоліків у роботі залізниці, як порушення графіка руху потягів, невиконання плану вантажних робіт, несправність вагонів, низька якість ремонтних робіт, чисельність аварій тощо. Також на підставі газетних публікацій зроблено висновок про незадовільне соціально­побутове становище працівників залізниці, погані умови життя, недостатність і поганий санітарний стан гуртожитків і їдалень.У статті підкреслено значення залізничного транспорту для економічного, соціального та культурного розвитку регіону. There have been studied the main problems of building of Prydniprovsk railway during the inter­war period, among them are impossibility to procure transportation of all industrial cargos to the full extent and high damage rate caused by bad condition of rail unit, old age and failure of steam trains and carriages, weakness of material and technical resources and insufficiency of qualified staff.Core measures of soviet government directed to optimization of railway operation have been examined. Since 1935 process of its reconstruction has been activated, steam and carriage stocks have been renewed partially, range of loading­unloading operations has been mechanized, railway junctions have been extended, new bridges, terminal stations, locomotive depots and car­repair yards have been built, numerous kilometers have been railed. All aforementioned helped to improve key performance indicators of the railway.In article methods to have been used by communist party and government in order to force and increase quality of railway employees’ work have been shown, namely moral incentives, socialist competitions of best employees and innovators, encourage of the Stakhanov and Krivonos movement and also material incentives of employees, raise in wages, bonus awards for the best labor collectives.Based on materials of «Steel Trunk» newspaper authors of the article have revealed the following nonconformance in railway operation: breach of train schedule, non­fulfillment of loading plan, carriage failure, low quality of repair operations, numerous accidents etc.In addition the conclusion of unsatisfactory social conditions of railway employees, their bad living conditions, insufficiency and bad sanitary condition of dormitories and canteens has been made based on newspaper publication

    Refinements to the microwave waveguide material parameters measurements. Case study

    This work presents the results of experimental measurements of permittivity and permeability of materials (dried pine, paraffin, acrylic resin, bitumen, polypropylene and texolite) that has a comparative values. The laboratory installation compile from waveguides 23x10 mm that provides the frequency range 8-12 GHz. The results processing lay not only in comparison with the existing data, but also in investigation of physical conditions that should be taken into account for waveguide experiment setup. The main aim is to establish the variation of electro physical parameters of the material measured in waveguides and in free space.     Three-body correlations in direct reactions: Example of 6^{6}Be populated in (p,n)(p,n) reaction

    The 6^{6}Be continuum states were populated in the charge-exchange reaction 1^1H(6^{6}Li,6^{6}Be)nn collecting very high statistics data (5×106\sim 5 \times 10^6 events) on the three-body α\alpha+pp+pp correlations. The 6^{6}Be excitation energy region below 3\sim 3 MeV is considered, where the data are dominated by contributions from the 0+0^+ and 2+2^+ states. It is demonstrated how the high-statistics few-body correlation data can be used to extract detailed information on the reaction mechanism. Such a derivation is based on the fact that highly spin-aligned states are typically populated in the direct reactions.Comment: submitted to Physical Review
