The author also considers the icons found in their iconostases, and reveals the most venerated icons. It is certain that Saint Nicholas was the most popular of the saints, along with some local saints that were venerated in the capital of Siberia and connected to particular areas of the region, such as Cyril of Beloozero, Procopius of Ustyug, Leontius of Rostov, and Basil the Blessed. A complex analysis carried out by the author enabled them to reconstruct the Orthodox landscape of Tobolsk in the first fourth of the 17th century

This town was built during the Russian colonization of Siberia. The author proves that there is a historiographic inconsistency in the dates of establishment and interpretation of the history of Intercession and St Nicholas Monasteries. Referring to new documents and employing the method of micro-history, the author reconstructs the history of the monasteries between the 17th and the first half of the 18th century. It is established that the monastic community of Turinsk developed in the way typical of many Siberian monasteries, i.e. starting with a settlement of a few monks by the parish church before the establishment of a monastery outside of town. However, this evolution was long and complex, and not continuous. There were periods when aged nuns lived by the Intercession Church too. Intercession Monastery was first mentioned in a document of 1621 and described the appointment of black priest Macarius Father Superior. Between the late 1620s and prior to the early 1680s, Fathers Superior were not appointed. At that time black priests played an important role in the life of the monastic community. They were confessors and, in fact, carried out the duties of builders in the monastery. The first decree on the provision of land to Intercession Monastery was issued in 1621, but only in 1641 the monks received the first land plot. Their main means of subsistence were charitable contributions. Only at the turn of the 1680s, black priest Pachomius managed to build the coenobitic St Nicholas Monastery. It had a modest plot of land which provided the monks with stable existence

The author focuses on Tobolsk, Siberiaβs capital, and the largest transit centres, the towns of Verkhoturye and Turinsk, the northern towns of Berezov and Pelym, and the southern towns of Tyumen and Tara. Referring to a vast range of historical sources, the work traces the emergence of cathedral and parish churches, monasteries, the residence of Siberian archbishops of the Cathedral of St Sophia and the Dormition, chapels, and other objects of the Orthodox landscape. The author singles out the peculiarities of their place in urban space, the motives behind their names, and determines their sacral functions. Additionally, the book pays attention to the social aspects of the process of the formation of the Orthodox landscape. The book is meant for specialists and for anyone interested in the history of towns and Orthodox Christianity in Russia and Siberia
Study of adsorption of the SARS-CoV-2 virus spike protein by vibrational spectroscopy using terahertz metamaterials
Adhesion of the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is studied by vibrational spectroscopy using terahertz metamaterials. The features of metastructure absorption upon the deposition of histidine, albumin, and the receptor-binding domain of the spike protein films are investigated. An original technique for quantitative assessment of the efficiency of virus adhesion on the metamaterial surfaces are proposed and experimentally tested
Neural networks in modeling of CNC milling of moderate slope surfaces
Computer numerical control (CNC) allows achieving a high degree of automation of machine tools by pre-programmed numerical commands. CNC milling process is widely used in industry for machining of complex parts. The need of a description of the CNC milling process is necessary for production of precise parts. This paper introduces artificial neural network based modeling, while the CNC milling of moderate slope shapes is studied. The developed neural models consist of two inputs and two outputs. The created neural models were experimentally tested on the real data. Then, the evaluation and comparison of all models were performed
The collaborative outcomes study on health and functioning during infection times in adults (COH-FIT-Adults): Design and methods of an international online survey targeting physical and mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic
Background:. High-quality comprehensive data on short-/long-term physical/mental health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are needed. Methods:. The Collaborative Outcomes study on Health and Functioning during Infection Times (COH-FIT) is an international, multi-language (n=30) project involving >230 investigators from 49 countries/territories/regions, endorsed by national/international professional associations. COH-FIT is a multi-wave, on-line anonymous, cross-sectional survey [wave 1: 04/2020 until the end of the pandemic, 12 months waves 2/3 starting 6/24 months threreafter] for adults, adolescents (14-17), and children (6-13), utilizing non-probability/snowball and representative sampling. COH-FIT aims to identify non-modifiable/modifiable risk factors/treatment targets to inform prevention/intervention programs to improve social/health outcomes in the general population/vulnerable subgrous during/after COVID-19. In adults, co-primary outcomes are change from pre-COVID-19 to intra-COVID-19 in well-being (WHO-5) and a composite psychopathology P-Score. Key secondary outcomes are a P-extended score, global mental and physical health. Secondary outcomes include health-service utilization/functioning, treatment adherence, functioning, symptoms/behaviors/emotions, substance use, violence, among others. Results:. Starting 04/26/2020, up to 14/07/2021 >151,000 people from 155 countries/territories/regions and six continents have participated. Representative samples of β₯1,000 adults have been collected in 15 countries. Overall, 43.0% had prior physical disorders, 16.3% had prior mental disorders, 26.5% were health care workers, 8.2% were aged β₯65 years, 19.3% were exposed to someone infected with COVID-19, 76.1% had been in quarantine, and 2.1% had been COVID 19-positive. Limitations:. Cross-sectional survey, preponderance of non-representative participants. Conclusions:. Results from COH-FIT will comprehensively quantify the impact of COVID-19, seeking to identify high-risk groups in need for acute and long-term intervention, and inform evidence-based health policies/strategies during this/future pandemics
