The Act empowers city and county attorneys or solicitors-general to file an action to abate a public nuisance or a nuisance that is created by unlawful sexual or drug-related activity. Prior law provided that only a district attorney could bring such an action. The Act also provides that the Code section relating to drug- related nuisances is cumulative of other remedies and is not to be construed to repeal existing remedies for drug-related nuisances. The Act also empowers city and county attorneys and solicitors-general to civilly prosecute any public nuisance

Neue Prodrugs von Diamidinen zur Therapie protozoischer Erkrankungen

Zur Therapie der Afrikanischen Schlafkrankheit wird ein Arzneistoff benötigt, der im Notfall injiziert und zur Langzeittherapie oral appliziert werden kann. Um im zweiten Stadium der Schlafkrankheit zu wirken, muss der Arzneistoff ZNS-gängig sein. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden unterschiedliche doppelte Prodrugs von Diminazen und Pentamidin entwickelt, um deren chemischen und pharmakokinetischen Eigenschaften zu verbessern. Zur Erreichung dieses Ziels wurden mehrere Derivate der Diamidine synthetisiert, in vitro auf ihre Bioaktivierung hin untersucht und in vivo die Plasmaspiegel der Wirkformen bestimmt
