    A Generalized Fluctuation-Dissipation Theorem for Nonlinear Response Functions

    A nonlinear generalization of the Fluctuation-Dissipation Theorem (FDT) for the n-point Green functions and the amputated 1PI vertex functions at finite temperature is derived in the framework of the Closed Time Path formalism. We verify that this generalized FDT coincides with known results for n=2 and 3.     A novel in situ diffusion strategy to fabricate high performance cathodes for low temperature proton-conducting solid oxide fuel cells

We also would like to thank the support from the China Scholarship Council (No. 201606340101).Developing new low-cost high-performance cobalt-free cathode materials for low temperature proton-conducting solid oxide fuel cells (H-SOFCs) has been an imperative topic. In response to this challenge, we herein develop a novel in situ Pr diffusion strategy based on a Sm0.2Ce0.8O2-Ύ-Pr(Pr0.5Ba1.5)Cu3O7-Ύ (SDC-PBCu, 3:7 wt%) compound, to achieve a perovskite-related proton-blocking composite cathode (PBCC) Ce1-xPrxO2-Ύ-Ba2CeCu3O7.4-Sm2Ba1.33Ce0.67Cu3O9-CuO (PDC-BCC-SBCC-CuO) for BaZr0.1Ce0.7Y0.2O3-Ύ-based H-SOFCs. The single cell achieves a remarkable performance with a maximum power density (MPD) of 1000 and 566 mW cm-2, corresponding to the interfacial polarization resistance (RP) of 0.037 and 0.188 Ω cm2 at 700 and 600 °C, respectively. The XRD results demonstrate that the PBCu phase disappears after the calcination of the mixed SDC-PBCu composite powder at 900 °C, with the formation of four new phases including fluorite structured PDC, orthorhombic layered material BCC, tetragonal perovskite-related SBCC and a small quantity of metallic oxide CuO, being favorable for a superior cathode performance. The ascendant electrochemical performance including the very high MPD and the lower RP obtained here indicate that the quaternary cobalt-free PBCC PDC-BCC-SBCC-CuO is a preferable alternative for high-performance low-temperature H-SOFCs.PostprintPostprintPeer reviewe

    Self-consistent Study on Color Transport in the Quark Gluon Plasma at Finite Chemical Potential

    We calculate the relaxation time self-consistently to study the damping of collective color modes and the color conductivity in a QGP by deriving self-consistent equations for the damping rates of gluons and quarks to leading order QCD by TFD including a chemical potential for quarks.     Copy number variation of individual cattle genomes using next-generation sequencing

    Copy number variations (CNVs) affect a wide range of phenotypic traits; however, CNVs in or near segmental duplication regions are often intractable. Using a read depth approach based on next-generation sequencing, we examined genome - wide copy number differences among five taurine (three Angus, one Holstein, and one Hereford) and one indicine (Nelore) cattle. Within mapped chromosomal sequence, we identified 1265 CNV regions comprising ∌55.6-Mbp sequence-476 of which (~38%) have not previously been reported. We validated this sequence-based CNV call set with array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH), quantitative PCR (qPCR), and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), achieving a validation rate of 82% and a false positive rate of 8%. We further estimated absolute copy numbers for genomic segments and annotated genes in each individual. Surveys of the top 25 most variable genes revealed that the Nelore individual had the lowest copy numbers in 13 cases (∌52%, χ 2 test; P-value <0.05). In contrast, genes related to pathogen- and parasite-resistance, such as CATHL4 and ULBP17, were highly duplicated in the Nelore individual relative to the taurine cattle, while genes involved in lipid transport and metabolism, including APOL3 and FABP2, were highly duplicated in the beef breeds. These CNV regions also harbor genes like BPIFA2A (BSP30A) and WC1, suggesting that some CNVs may be associated with breed-specific differences in adaptation, health, and production traits. By providing the first individualized cattle CNV and segmental duplication maps and genome-wide gene copy number estimates, we enable future CNV studies into highly duplicated regions in the cattle genome. © 2012 by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press

    Bose-Einstein Correlations of Neutral and Charged Pions in Hadronic Z Decays

    Bose-Einstein correlations of both neutral and like-sign charged pion pairs are measured in a sample of 2 million hadronic Z decays collected with the L3 detector at LEP. The analysis is performed in the four-momentum difference range 300 MeV < Q < 2 GeV. The radius of the neutral pion source is found to be smaller than that of charged pions. This result is in qualitative agreement with the string fragmentation model

    Measurement of the W+W-gamma Cross Section and Direct Limits on Anomalous Quartic Gauge Boson Couplings at LEP

    The process e+e- -> W+W-gamma is analysed using the data collected with the L3 detector at LEP at a centre-of-mass energy of 188.6GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 176.8pb^-1. Based on a sample of 42 selected W+W- candidates containing an isolated hard photon, the W+W-gamma cross section, defined within phase-space cuts, is measured to be: sigma_WWgamma = 290 +/- 80 +/- 16 fb, consistent with the Standard Model expectation. Including the process e+e- -> nu nu gamma gamma, limits are derived on anomalous contributions to the Standard Model quartic vertices W+W- gamma gamma and W+W-Z gamma at 95% CL: -0.043 GeV^-2 < a_0/Lambda^2 < 0.043 GeV^-2 0.08 GeV^-2 < a_c/Lambda^2 < 0.13 GeV^-2 0.41 GeV^-2 < a_n/Lambda^2 < 0.37 GeV^-2

    Production of Single W Bosons at \sqrt{s}=189 GeV and Measurement of WWgamma Gauge Couplings

    Single W boson production in electron-positron collisions is studied with the L3 detector at LEP. The data sample collected at a centre-of-mass energy of \sqrt{s} = 188.7GeV corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 176.4pb^-1. Events with a single energetic lepton or two acoplanar hadronic jets are selected. Within phase-space cuts, the total cross-section is measured to be 0.53 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.03 pb, consistent with the Standard Model expectation. Including our single W boson results obtained at lower \sqrt{s}, the WWgamma gauge couplings kappa_gamma and lambda_gamma are determined to be kappa_gamma = 0.93 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.09 and lambda_gamma = -0.31 +0.68 -0.19 +/- 0.13

    Search for an invisibly decaying Higgs boson in e^+e^- collisions at \sqrt{s} = 183 - 189 GeV

    A search for a Higgs boson decaying into invisible particles is performed using the data collected at LEP by the L3 experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 183 GeV and 189 GeV. The integrated luminosities are respectively 55.3 pb^-1 and 176.4 pb^-1. The observed candidates are consistent with the expectations from Standard Model processes. In the hypothesis that the production cross section of this Higgs boson equals the Standard Model one and the branching ratio into invisible particles is 100%, a lower mass limit of 89.2 GeV is set at 95% confidence level

    Search for Neutral Higgs Bosons of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model in e+e- Interactions at \sqrt{s} = 189 GeV

    A search for the lightest neutral scalar and neutral pseudoscalar Higgs bosons in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model is performed using 176.4 pb^-1 of integrated luminosity collected by L3 at a center-of-mass energy of 189 GeV. No signal is observed, and the data are consistent with the expected Standard Model background. Lower limits on the masses of the lightest neutral scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs bosons are given as a function of tan(beta). Lower mass limits for tan(beta)>1 are set at the 95% confidence level to be m_h > 77.1 GeV and m_A > 77.1 GeV
