    RESSIGNIFICANDO A PRÁTICA DOCENTE NA EDUCAÇÃO

    The objective of this document is make a brief report of the evolution of Young and Adults Education (EJA) in the historical-educational context of Brazil, over all from century XX till the 90 decade, with the writing of the new LDBEN- Guidelines and Bases National Education Law and the guidelines concerning to EJA, focusing the situation of this modality of education post-LDBEN, specially in relation to teachers’s pedagogical formation. The text brings up the problematic of the necessity of permanent spaces of teachers continued formation of this modality and tells a practical experience of formation accomplished with teachers of the Education State System in the cities of Cidreira, Capivari and Palmares do Sul, of Rio Grande do Sul State. Approaching the participant research from the classroom, the meetings have happened from July to December, 2006, with UNESCO and Education State Secretaryship support according to UNISC – Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul.O Objetivo desse documento é fazer um breve relato da evolução da Educação de Jovens e Adultos no panorama histórico-educacional do Brasil, sobretudo a partir do século XX, até chegar à década de 90, com a redação da nova LDBEN e as diretrizes para a EJA nela contida, enfocando a situação dessa modalidade de ensino pós-LDB, sobretudo em relação à formação pedagógica de professores para nela atuarem. O texto traz à tona a problemática da necessidade e dos espaços de formação permanente e continuada de professores de Educação de Jovens e Adultos e relata uma experiência prática de formação realizada com a participação de professores da rede estadual de ensino nos municípios de Cidreira, Capivari e Palmares do sul, no Rio Grande do Sul. Abordando a pesquisa participante a partir da sala de aula, os encontros aconteceram de julho a dezembro de 2006, com o apoio da UNESCO, da Secretaria Estadual de Educação e em convênio com a UNISC - Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul

    Genotype and phenotype landscape of MEN2 in 554 medullary thyroid cancer patients: the BrasMEN study

    Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN2) is an autosomal dominant genetic disease caused by RET gene germline mutations that is characterized by medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) associated with other endocrine tumors. Several reports have demonstrated that the RET mutation profile may vary according to the geographical area. In this study, we collected clinical and molecular data from 554 patients with surgically confirmed MTC from 176 families with MEN2 in 18 different Brazili an centers to compare the type and prevalence of RET mutations with those from other countries. The most frequent mutations, classified by the number of families affected, occur in codon 634, exon 11 (76 families), followed by codon 918, exon 16 (34 families: 26 with M918T and 8 with M918V) and codon 804, exon 14 (22 families: 15 with V804M and 7 with V804L). When compared with other major published series from Europe, there are several similarities and some differences. While the mutations in codons C618, C620, C630, E768 and S891 present a similar prevalence, some mutations have a lower prevalence in Brazil, and others are found mainly in Brazil (G533C and M918V).     The DUNE Far Detector Vertical Drift Technology, Technical Design Report

    International audienceDUNE is an international experiment dedicated to addressing some of the questions at the forefront of particle physics and astrophysics, including the mystifying preponderance of matter over antimatter in the early universe. The dual-site experiment will employ an intense neutrino beam focused on a near and a far detector as it aims to determine the neutrino mass hierarchy and to make high-precision measurements of the PMNS matrix parameters, including the CP-violating phase. It will also stand ready to observe supernova neutrino bursts, and seeks to observe nucleon decay as a signature of a grand unified theory underlying the standard model. The DUNE far detector implements liquid argon time-projection chamber (LArTPC) technology, and combines the many tens-of-kiloton fiducial mass necessary for rare event searches with the sub-centimeter spatial resolution required to image those events with high precision. The addition of a photon detection system enhances physics capabilities for all DUNE physics drivers and opens prospects for further physics explorations. Given its size, the far detector will be implemented as a set of modules, with LArTPC designs that differ from one another as newer technologies arise. In the vertical drift LArTPC design, a horizontal cathode bisects the detector, creating two stacked drift volumes in which ionization charges drift towards anodes at either the top or bottom. The anodes are composed of perforated PCB layers with conductive strips, enabling reconstruction in 3D. Light-trap-style photon detection modules are placed both on the cryostat's side walls and on the central cathode where they are optically powered. This Technical Design Report describes in detail the technical implementations of each subsystem of this LArTPC that, together with the other far detector modules and the near detector, will enable DUNE to achieve its physics goals

    International audienceThis document describes Offline Software and Computing for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) experiment, in particular, the conceptual design of the offline computing needed to accomplish its physics goals. Our emphasis in this document is the development of the computing infrastructure needed to acquire, catalog, reconstruct, simulate and analyze the data from the DUNE experiment and its prototypes. In this effort, we concentrate on developing the tools and systems thatfacilitate the development and deployment of advanced algorithms. Rather than prescribing particular algorithms, our goal is to provide resources that are flexible and accessible enough to support creative software solutions as HEP computing evolves and to provide computing that achieves the physics goals of the DUNE experiment
