    New algorithms to obtain analytical solutions of Einstein's equations in isotropic coordinates

    The main objective of this work, is to show two inequivalent methods to obtain new spherical symmetric solutions of Einstein's Equations with anisotropy in the pressures in isotropic coordinates. This was done inspired by the MGD method, which is known to be valid for line elements in Schwarzschild coordinates. As example, we obtained four analytical solutions using Gold III as seed solution.     El embarazo adolescente ha sido un fenómeno de mucha preocupación e investigación en diferentes contextos. Sin embargo, es aun escaso el entendimiento integral sobre el ejercicio de la comunicación sobre temas de la vida sexual –también conocida como asertividad sexual– en la relación de pareja de los adolescentes. El interés por entender el ejercicio de la asertividad sexual de las adolescentes que se han convertido en madres durante esta etapa, ha llevado a desarrollar el presente estudio. El objetivo de esta investigación fue explorar las perspectivas que tienen las madres adolescentes sobre su asertividad sexual. Se llevó a cabo un estudio de enfoque cualitativo con la aplicación de seis entrevistas semi-estructuradas a madres adolescentes. Luego de hacer un análisis temático, los resultados permitieron evidenciar las dificultades existentes en el ejercicio de la asertividad sexual tales como: dificultades para saber rechazar la petición a tener relaciones sexuales; un escaso conocimiento sobre métodos anticonceptivos cuyo impacto se refleja sobre todo en el uso inadecuado de la píldora de emergencia; barreras como vergüenza y recelo para comunicarse sobre temas sexuales. Adicionalmente se evidencia la importancia de acudir a servicios de salud y de educación para mejoras en el ejercicio de la asertividad sexual.The teenage pregnancy has been a phenomenon of a lot of concerns and research in different contexts However, it is still scarce the integral understanding about the exercise of communication regarding with aspects related to the sexual life - known as sexual assertiveness- in teenage intimate relationships. The interest to understand the exercise of sexual assertiveness of adolescents who became mothers during this period, has brought us to develop this study. The aim of this research was to explore the perspectives of teenage mothers with regard to their sexual assertiveness. A qualitative study with the use of six semi-structured interviews to adolescents who became mothers during this period was conducted. After the thematic analysis, the results allowed us to evidence the existing difficulties in the exercises ofsexual assertiveness such as: difficulties to know how to refuse to have sexual intercourse; lack of knowledge about birth control methods and such impact is reflected in the inadequate use of the emergency pill;;some barriers like shame with regard to communication about sexual aspects..     Implications of Oxidative Stress and Potential Role of Mitochondrial Dysfunction in COVID-19: Therapeutic Effects of Vitamin D

    Due to its high degree of contagiousness and like almost no other virus, SARS-CoV-2 has put the health of the world population on alert. COVID-19 can provoke an acute inflammatory process and uncontrolled oxidative stress, which predisposes one to respiratory syndrome, and in the worst case, death. Recent evidence suggests the mechanistic role of mitochondria and vitamin D in the development of COVID-19. Indeed, mitochondrial dynamics contribute to the maintenance of cellular homeostasis, and its uncoupling involves pathological situations. SARS-CoV-2 infection is associated with altered mitochondrial dynamics with consequent oxidative stress, pro-inflammatory state, cytokine production, and cell death. Furthermore, vitamin D deficiency seems to be associated with increased COVID-19 risk. In contrast, vitamin D can normalize mitochondrial dynamics, which would improve oxidative stress, pro-inflammatory state, and cytokine production. Furthermore, vitamin D reduces renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system activation and, consequently, decreases ROS generation and improves the prognosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Thus, the purpose of this review is to deepen the knowledge about the role of mitochondria and vitamin D directly involved in the regulation of oxidative stress and the inflammatory state in SARS-CoV-2 infection. As future prospects, evidence suggests enhancing the vitamin D levels of the world population, especially of those individuals with additional risk factors that predispose to the lethal consequences of SARS-CoV-2 infection.Fil: de Las Heras, Natalia.     Contributions on Transmitarrays for Far-Field Applications

    XI Encuentro Ibérico de Electromagnetismo Computacional-IIEC, 8-11 de noviembre de 2016, Asturias (España)Different contributions made to the development of Transmitarrays (TA) for Far-Filed applications are presented in this contribution. Firstly, a unit cell, based on four patches coupled by a slot or a symmetric cross, is introduced, and then, an arraybased model used to analyze a system formed by a TA and a planar lens in a time-efficient manner without using a full-wave method. Thus, both features are used to design and analyze the different prototypes reviewed in this contribution. That is, an ultra-thin planar lenses based on a 2-bit unit cell and a dualpolarized TA that has been designed in order to be used in polarized agile antenna. Thus, by rotating the feed of the system, a linear polarized antenna, it is possible to obtain any kind of polarization, form linear to circular. Finally, this TA has been used in a multibeam application fed with a network of quasi-yagi antenna

    The effects of informed consent format on preoperative anxiety in patients undergoing inferior third molar surgery

    Objectives: To evaluate the effect of informed consent format on preoperative anxiety of patients. Material and Methods: We performed a prospective study (91 patients) undergoing lower third molar extraction. Patients were distributed into three groups. Informed consent for surgery was obtained through a written docu - ment, an oral interview or a video recording. Afterwards, patients were asked about their anxiety level and the effect the informed consent had had on it. Results: Whereas the information conveyed both in oral and written formats relieved the patient to some extent (in a scale of -3 to +3) 0.97±1.21 and 0.29±0.97, respectively), the video recording increased patient's anxiety in a sta - tistically significant way (in a scale of -3 to +3, -0.57±1.43). The difference obtained between the values obtained in oral and written information was not statistically significant. Discussion: The most adequate format, according to our study, would be the oral format

    Vegetable by-products as alternative and sustainable raw materials for ruminant feeding: nutritive evaluation and their inclusion in a novel ration for calf fattening

    This research aimed to evaluate the nutritional composition, in vitro digestibility, and gas production kinetics of 15 vegetable by-products generated by the agri-food industry compared with corn silage as a reference raw material. Nutritional characterization and in vitro ruminal fermentation tests were performed to determine in vitro organic matter digestibility and digestible energy values, short-chain fatty acids, and the gas production profile. Results indicate that vegetable by-products were more degradable, more extensively fermented, and fermented at a faster rate than corn silage. Going one step further in the valorization of these by-products in animal feed, the second part of the research aimed to compare the novel ration designed for calf fattening with a conventional one. An artificial rumen unit was used to obtain nutrient disappearance, rumen fermentation parameters, and gas production of rumen digesta. Very slight differences were observed between both experimental rations, with their composition being the main difference. Most of the unitary vegetable by-products and all mixes, as real examples of by-product generation in the agri-food industry, have higher digestibility and a greater nutritional value than corn silage.     Allicin neuroprotective effect during oxidative/inflammatory injury involves at1-hsp70-inos counterbalance axis

    The ancestral cultures have described many therapeutic properties of garlic; therefore, it is of central interest to elucidate the molecular basis explaining this millenary empirical knowledge. Indeed, it has been demonstrated a neuroprotective effect of allicin–a phytochemical present in garlic- linked to oxidative-inflammatory modulation. Allicin improved neuronal injury by heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) regulation. Also, allicin exerts renal protection involving a possible angiotensin type 1 receptor (AT1) interaction. In connection, AT1 overexpression has been recognized as a central deleterious factor in many brain diseases. However, there are no studies that evaluate AT1-Hsp70-iNOS interaction as a mechanism linked to neuroinflammation. Thus, our central aim is to evaluate if the allicin protective effect is associated with an AT1-Hsp70-iNOS counterbalance axis. For this study, a murine microglial cell line (BV-2) was injured with lipopolysaccharides and treated or not with allicin. Then, it was evaluated cell viability, proinflammatory cytokine levels, cellular oxidative stress, iNOS, Hsp70, and AT1 protein expression (cellular and mitochondrial fractions), nitrite levels, and protein-protein interactions. The results demonstrated that allicin could prevent neuronal injury due to a reduction in oxidative stress and inflammatory status mediated by an AT1-Hsp70-iNOS counterbalance axis linked to direct protein-protein interaction.Fil: Mazzei, Luciana Jorgelina.     An Ultrathin 2-bit Near-Field Transmitarray Lens

    A novel ultra-thin Near-Field 2-bit 24x24-element transmitarray lens working at X-Band is presented in this letter. The aim of this antenna is to focus in a point located in the Near-Field without using any complex feeding network. In order to obtain a planar lens with a very low profile, a 2-bit-design approach is used to diminish the number of layers used in the structure. The simulations have been done using a model based on the concept that the Near-Field of an array can be calculated as the sum of the Far-Field contributions of every single one of its elements. These are considered as plane apertures over which the tangential electric field is constant. In order to validate the results of this model, they are compared with both those obtained with a full-wave commercial software and those from measurements.
