    La professionnalisation dans l’enseignement universitaire : un processus dialogique ?

    National audienceProfessionalization in higher education in France is the subject of many debates about the goals and purposes of university degrees. This leads to a wide range of plans and actions, but the mechanisms behind have rarely been studied. After reviewing the questions raised by the main scientific approaches dealing with professionalization, this article analyses how it is implemented for professional bachelor degrees and what professors and programme directors think of, and do about it. Drawing on theory of activity - and in particular directed activity -, our conclusions emphasize the "dialogical universe" of activities, from course design to evaluation. In the same way, most of the activities offered to the students are designed in order to encourage them to analyse situations from different points of views. Professionalization can therefore be regarded as a dialogical process.La professionnalisation des Ă©tudes supĂ©rieures constitue, en France, l’objet d’un dĂ©bat sur les finalitĂ©s des cursus. Elle se met en place au travers d’un Ă©ventail de dispositifs mais alimente encore peu de travaux de recherche lorsqu’il s’agit d’en Ă©tudier les processus. AprĂšs une revue de questions portant sur les principales approches scientifiques de la professionnalisation, cet article analyse la mise en Ɠuvre de la professionnalisation dans les licences professionnelles, telle que conçue et rĂ©alisĂ©e par les concepteurs et responsables pĂ©dagogiques de ces diplĂŽmes. Lus au moyen du modĂšle de l’activitĂ© dirigĂ©e, les rĂ©sultats mettent en Ă©vidence l’ « univers dialogique » qui trame toutes les activitĂ©s des responsables des formations, depuis la conception de la formation jusqu’à l’évaluation finale. En Ă©cho, les activitĂ©s proposĂ©es aux Ă©tudiants visent pour beaucoup d’entre elles Ă  leur permettre de multiplier les points de vue sur les situations rencontrĂ©es.     La validation d’acquis propose aux candidats une analyse et une verbalisation accompagnĂ©es de l’expĂ©rience passĂ©e, au regard des attendus d’un diplĂŽme. À partir d’une activitĂ© d’accompagnement dans le champ de l’enseignement supĂ©rieur, l’article propose de considĂ©rer que la dĂ©marche ne se limite pas Ă  rechercher et organiser des informations oubliĂ©es mais qu’elle constitue une activitĂ© transformatrice de l’expĂ©rience. C’est lorsque, vue autrement, elle s’est re-crĂ©Ă©e, re-pensĂ©e dans l’analyse, que les candidats font Ă©tat de transformations dans leurs maniĂšres de travailler ou d’ĂȘtre, avant mĂȘme toute certification. La derniĂšre partie de l’article suggĂšre que pour se recrĂ©er et en se recrĂ©ant, l’expĂ©rience s’est affranchie de ses prĂ©supposĂ©s cognitifs, sociaux et subjectifs, elle s’en est dĂ©prise, en les renouvelant. Or cette dĂ©prise crĂ©ative apparaĂźt paradoxalement possible lorsque que le candidat a pu suffisamment « rĂ©pĂ©ter » ses expĂ©riences.This paper focuses on Acquired Knowledge Validation, a procedure that allows candidates to analyze and verbalize, with the help of counselors, previous professional experience, in relation to expectations of their qualifications. The author begins with a description of the support offered by counselors in the Higher Education field before suggesting that the Acquired Knowledge Validation is not limited solely to recovering and reorganizing « forgotten » information but that it can also constitute an activity that transforms past experience. It is when past experience is reviewed and reassessed, during a counseling session, that the candidate can change his/her way of working and behaving without a formal renewal of qualifications. In the last part of the article, the author suggests that during the renewal process and for renewal to be possible, experience detaches itself from its presupposed cognitive, social and subjective basis and thus at the same time separates itself from, and reinstates, prior presuppositions. However, this creative extrication becomes possible only when, paradoxically, the candidate has « repeated » his experiences a sufficient amount of times

    De plus en plus de mĂ©thodologies d’analyse du travail revendiquent une approche dĂ©veloppementale, c’est-Ă -dire visent la transformation des situations et/ou des individus. Un certain nombre d’entre elles postulent que c’est en permettant aux professionnels d’engager eux-mĂȘmes une analyse de leur propre activitĂ© de travail qu’on y parvient (voir par exemple Clot, 2008 ; Engeström, 1987, 2000 ; BĂ©guin & Cerf, 2004 ; PastrĂ©, 2005). Toutefois, l’expĂ©rience montre que mĂȘme au sein de dispositifs soigneusement construits pour favoriser le dĂ©veloppement de leur activitĂ© par les sujets, les moments de dĂ©veloppement vĂ©ritable de l’activitĂ© d’analyse, sans parler mĂȘme du dĂ©veloppement de l’activitĂ© pratique, qui reste en gĂ©nĂ©ral difficile Ă  attester dans l’espace-temps du dispositif de recherche, sont des « perles rares ». Nous nous penchons dans cet article sur quelques unes de ces perles, isolĂ©es au sein de deux interventions conduites en clinique de l’activitĂ© avec la mĂ©thodologie des autoconfrontations croisĂ©es (Clot, 1999, 2005, 2008 ; Clot et al., 2001), l’une avec des experts de la VAE et l’autre avec des prĂȘtres catholiques, afin d’extraire de leur comparaison une meilleure comprĂ©hension des conditions du dĂ©veloppement de l’analyse. Nous nous focaliserons dans cet article sur un des mĂ©canismes, rĂ©current dans les matĂ©riaux analysĂ©s, qui contribue Ă  la construction de cet « espace de pensĂ©e » (Perret-Clermont, 2001) oĂč l’on parvient Ă  produire du nouveau.A growing number of work analysis methodologies demand a developmental approach, i.e. they aim to change workers and/or work situations. Some assume that this change can best be achieved by closely involving people in the analysis of their own work activity (e.g. Clot, 2008; Engeström, 1987, 2000; BĂ©guin & Cerf, 2004; PastrĂ©, 2005). However, research experience shows that examples of such change remain uncommon, even in frameworks carefully designed to support the subjects’ development of their activity, not to mention the development of practical activity, which is generally very difficult to demonstrate within the space and time restrictions of a research project. In this paper, we analyse a few such examples drawn from two projects carried out in Clinic of Activity using the technique of cross self-confrontation (Clot, 1999, 2005, 2008; Clot et al., 2001). The first was conducted in conjunction with experts in Accreditation for Work Experience (or VAE, as it is known in French), the second with Roman Catholic priests. We compare the two to acquire a better understanding of the conditions required for development of the analysis. We will focus on one of the mechanisms that recurs often in our material: the construction of a “space for reflection” (Perret-Clermont, 2001) where new ways of thinking are created

    Les mĂ©thodes d’analyse du travail relevant de la clinique de l’activitĂ© engagent les professionnels dans une confrontation aux traces vidĂ©o des actions rĂ©alisĂ©es. Ce dispositif se veut dĂ©veloppemental en tant qu’il ouvre potentiellement des voies pour penser/dire/agir autrement dans le quotidien de l’activitĂ©. Dans le cadre de cet article on prend appui sur des donnĂ©es extraites d’une intervention s’inscrivant dans cette orientation mĂ©thodologique, conduite avec des acteurs de la Validation des Acquis de l’ExpĂ©rience. On ouvre une piste dans l’étude du processus langagier crĂ©atif en dĂ©crivant avec prĂ©cision l’impact de la reprise des mots du professionnel par le chercheur. Le concept d’hĂ©tĂ©rogĂ©nĂ©itĂ© est mobilisĂ©, Ă  partir de Bakhtine, pour comprendre comment les mots se dĂ©solidarisent des significations et des objets auxquels ils Ă©taient attachĂ©s ouvrant ainsi la voie Ă  de possibles objectivations nouvelles.Work analysis methods in “Clinic of Activity” involve professionals in confrontation with films of their real action.     The genus Hylocereus includes many importantspecies for human and animal nutrition, including those known as dragon fruits. Although Colombia produces yellow pitaya on a commercial scale, there have been no advances for the red pitahaya crop. This study aimed to do an in situ evaluation of genetic material of wild red pitahaya (Hylocereus spp.) from three populations located in Antioquia and CĂłrdoba; with special interest for the fruits, taking into account the desired characteristics by the market. To achieve this, 23 descriptors of stems and fruits, measurable in the field, were chosen; and 35 individuals where located, using GPS, and described. The populations were compared using mean comparison and the similarity was evaluated with cluster analysis. The stem descriptors differed in spine number, contour and margin hardness, areole distance and stem color; the first three are important for species distinction.According to the fruit descriptors, populations 1 and 2 presented similar fruits that were different from those of population 3, for almost all variables except total soluble solids content. The fruits of population 1 and 2 only differed for pulp weight. Individual 3 of population 1 presented fruits with the best characteristics for the market / El gĂ©nero Hylocereus presenta varias especies importantes en la alimentaciĂłn humana y animal, incluyendo aquellas conocidas como pitayas rojas. Aunque Colombia produce comercialmente pitaya amarilla, no ha avanzado en el cultivo de pitaya roja. Este trabajo se propuso caracterizar in situ materiales genĂ©ticos silvestres de pitaya roja (Hylocereus spp.) provenientes de tres poblaciones de Antioquia y CĂłrdoba, especialmente de sus frutos, segĂșn las caracterĂ­sticas deseables para el mercado. Para ello,se eligieron 23 descriptores de tallos y frutos, medibles en campo; se ubicaron y georeferenciaron 35 individuos y se describieron. Las poblaciones fueron comparadas en cada uno de los descriptores usando una comparaciĂłn de medias, ademĂĄs se evaluĂł la similitud entre poblaciones con un anĂĄlisis de agrupamiento. SegĂșn los descriptores de tallos, hubo diferencias en: nĂșmero de espinas, contorno y dureza de las mĂĄrgenes, distancia entre areolas, altura yespesor de la arista, longitud y color del cladodio; las tres primeras caracterĂ­sticas son importantes para diferenciar especies. SegĂșn los descriptores de fruto, las poblaciones 1 y 2 presentaron frutos mĂĄs similares entre sĂ­ y diferentes de los de la poblaciĂłn 3, en casi todas las variables excepto en el contenido de sĂłlidos solubles totales. Los frutos de la poblaciĂłn 1 y 2 sĂłlo difirieron en el peso de la pulpa. El individuo 3 de la poblaciĂłn 1 presentĂł frutos con mejorescaracterĂ­sticas para el mercado

    A Holistic View of the Goto-Kakizaki Rat Immune System: Decreased Circulating Immune Markers in Non- Obese Type 2 Diabetes

    Type-2 diabetes is a complex disorder that is now considered to have an immune component, with functional impairments in many immune cell types. Type-2 diabetes is often accompanied by comorbid obesity, which is associated with low grade inflammation. However,the immune status in Type-2 diabetes independent of obesity remains unclear. Goto-Kakizaki rats are a non-obese Type-2 diabetes model. The limited evidence available suggests that Goto-Kakizaki rats have a pro-inflammatory immune profile in pancreatic islets. Here we present a detailed overview of the adult Goto-Kakizaki rat immune system. Three converging lines of evidence: fewer pro-inflammatory cells, lower levels of circulating pro-inflammatory cytokines, and a clear downregulation of pro-inflammatory signalling in liver, muscle and adipose tissues indicate a limited pro-inflammatory baseline immune profile outside the pancreas. As Type-2 diabetes is frequently associated with obesity and adipocyte-released inflammatory mediators, the pro-inflammatory milieu seems not due to Type-2 diabetes per se; although this overall reduction of immune markers suggests marked immune dysfunction in Goto-Kakizaki rats.     Can Common Sense uncover cultural differences in computer applications?

    Cultural differences play a very important role in matching computer interfaces to the expectations of users from different national and cultural backgrounds. But to date, there has been little systematic research as to the extent of such differences, and how to produce software that automatically takes into account these differences. We are studying these issues using a unique resource: Common Sense knowledge bases in different languages. Our research points out that this kind of knowledge can help computer systems to consider cultural differences.
